Actually i like this, but change it a bit:
Make the merchant choose a target, and give a gun to that target, the target doesn't know he received a gun (option on-off?)
(maybe u can also do it by day, like "Sell #")
then at night / or following night, the person uses his night abillity normally, but instead of his abillity, it causes him to shoot that person (so for example, it can make a doc shoot his target instead of saving, or witch doc kill a cultist friend instead) - this can do havoc and be rly fun.
then if ur predefined / chosen target is killed, u win, and u cant give more guns.
what u say?

well, i was cult, and i got purged by ML, WD saved me.
ML did get a msg "ur target is a cult". and then he urged to lynch me the next day (i claimed i wasnt attacked).
and i told him he was probably witched (there was a witch).
i couldnt defend myself, and i told him the other day to purge me again and see if i'm really cult.
n2: i wasnt purged, the witch doctor was.
d3 the cultist which i converted died by lynch (random), so now witch knew for 100% i'm cult, i told the ML to come and smithe me, see if i'm rly cult and prove that i'm not. (i was hoping the witch to control him).
witch didnt control him (stupid witch), so all cult died, and only gf and witch left against tons of townies.
anyway, i know there's a problem because purging costs a smithe to the mason leader, but shouldnt something be done if a witch doc saves a cultist?
Good idea but I can't see many applications for it, since a lot of roles need their abilities to actually help the town
I could see it going well with Mayors, Citizens, and Spies but not much else, and being randomly erased in a pubbie would be frustrating as fuck, like you implied in your disadvantages
Has some neat potential at endgame, though, like erasing a neutral killing in order to guarantee an extra night for the town, or something like that
S'cool
i'm not sure, u can erase a sherif to give him 1 more night to put something on his last will.
You can also switch the days to get it more interesting:
at day, the eraser will choose who to erase (-erase command), and then the target will be erased even the following night (same as u target a guy who's dead for killers), and he will come back to life the other night.
that means - he will still be a potential target for the mafia, that will see his role again at night, and only leave more clues in last will

cool, but times between msgs is not good, because night is short.
anyway, if it has anti spam like in day, then cool

i just wondered, i havent seen crier in action (the map version is not latest in the server)
but cant a crier just spam the night, and prevent mafia from talking? (which kinda ruins it)
If so, maybe limit the crier's messages to like, 10 rows?

no no no! the spy is great, the marshal should be taken out (or the stump card).
the only question about this role, is, if the target seems to be cleaned, and in graveyard - will after that day it be removed from the graveyard? (as target "comes back to life"?)
and what will coroner see? (your target still alive?) - if so, it can be cool for disguiser purposes.

btw if a card is missing, just get rid of the stump, its useless and only mods can turn ppl into it
Since the town roles are full, if you don't want to replace this with the marshall, why not make it a mafia role?
Because marshal is poor, in for example, 4 players situations, he can really lynch 3 players and win, no matter whos' town and who's mafia.
Marshal can really ruin the late game and really cause the game to suck.

rolequitting is gamethrowing,
i lost a game because a citizen was raging about him being citizen, used his bulletproof at night 1 and said "i ahve nothing to do here anymore", and left (i was ML - he was the only citizen there is - cult won eventually because of it).
also, doc rolequit aswell, which ruined it more.
i'm sick of it.
u dont want a doc/citi? get enough points to blacklist.
i still vote for -100 points for rolequitting.
or you know what?
make a person have 3 times to rolequit at day1/2 or even 3, count it associating with his account, and punish when its after 3 quits.
but make something that will make ppl stay, they dont want the role? don't play mafia.
I just played a game as agent. I noticed that the Godfather didn't say anything in the night chat. So I went to him to see if he got jailed. Interestingly (for me) I noticed that the Godfather visited somebody despite no kill command having been issued. My first though was that he may have been witched. But his target didn't die and the target claimed Jailor having jailed the Godfather. So the Jailor forced him to visit him.
I'm not 100% sure about the other case. I know that before the new roles were implemented a Jailor would visit his target when executing. I don't know if that was changed. If not, it holds true.
cool, so its nice tactic for agent to visit GF if jailed, to take out the jailor

20 points is not much.
maybe 50?
appeal can be good, (cause sometimes u just have to leave).
that would scare rolequitters

Or, deduct more points if someone leaves day1 or day2, (few hundred points?)
i'm sick of people leaving because they are citizens/doctors...
It's actually the other way round. Jailing forces the jailee to visit the Jailor. Of course he won't be able to make use of his night action.
The notable exception is an execution. When executing the Jailor will actually visit his target.
Are u sure?

i was GF,
there was a BD who switched mafia member with "X",
i attacked "X", which redirected to the mafia memeber.
witch doc went on "X", means, it was redirected to mafia member.
the maf member was healed, and witch doctor was told "ur target was saved".
but he did not turn into cult.
thats true? mafia members by witch doc don't turn to cult?
