Look at that, #10 out of the aforementioned 14 has joined the thread.
You use racial slurs in mafia more often than 98.7% of the playerbase, so your opinion that your behavior is a part of "internet culture" is certainly not reflective of SC2 Mafia culture as you are a far outlier there.
Actually, the fact that you consider frequent use of racial slurs and casual racism to be a part of "internet culture" speaks a lot to the parts of the internet that you frequent.
===
But I have to ask, why are you posting here? Defending your perceived right to use racial slurs and casual racism in game? What are you looking to gain?
I've played many game with you before, I've seen you in plenty of games just playing like a regular player - no racism, no slurs, just good fun.
Actually scratch that, most games I've seen you in, you play significantly better than the average player - so I know you're able to do it - able to play normally sans racism.
So I have to ask, what are you looking to gain here? Do you feel wronged for being punished for a behavior you thought was allowed?
If that's the case, I hold no grudge with you - I just don't want to see slurs, racism, or hateful speech in game. If you were genuinely apologetic, recognized that hateful speech is harmful, if you were looking to discontinue using it in game, and if you were looking to discourage others (rather than encouraging them like I've seen you do) from using hateful speech... then I would be the first person to advocate for your watchlists to be appealed.
But that's obviously not why you're here, as you defend your racial slur usage by saying it's okay because you "hate everyone equally"
I do hope you change your mind though, and if you do, please let me know so I can be the first to advocate on your behalf.

Your attitude might be ok where you come from.
Just don't kid yourself into thinking that's the case anywhere else including here.

Re: Racist names (yes this again)
Okay fine, I admit that I was just fooling around here. FYI, yes. I never throw my games. If I think of something I think is evil, but has no leads on it. I'll just say ex. "5 is a jew, vote him up". You can take it as my unique way of voting up someone for a role claim. If I'm evil, well. Random lynching is always a (+) on us.
That's not my point. My point about the internet culture is you don't have to take everything you've read on the internet seriously. Also, damn.. how did I become racist online where I really know who am I and have no shred of racism in my body. I don't even care if people are racist or not.
Seemed like there are testimonies similar to mine.

For simplicity I just calculated usages of the n-word - since almost every player that thinks racism is fun uses that slur often
For each player I played with I calculated:
- The number of games I've played with them
- The number of games in which they used the slur
- The total number of times they used the slur
And for each game I counted the number of times the slur was used in the game.
Here are the results:
Game Statistics
- 62.2% (232/373) games do not have the slur in them at all
- 90.8% (339/373) games have the slur used 4 or less times in total among all players over the course of the game
- Only 4.3% (16/373) games have the slur used more than 10 times in total
Player Statistics
- 89.4% (693/775) of the players I've played with have literally NEVER used the word
- 96.0% (744/775) of the players have used the word only 4 times or less over ALL games I've played with them
- That bottom of the barrel 4.0% contributes 93.9% (1491/1588 ) of the usages of the word
- When you filter out players whom I've played less than 5 games with, there are only 14 players who have used the word more than 10 times
- These 14 "regulars" contribute 67.6% (1074/1588 ) of the usages usages of the word
Now this was just looking at a single (albeit by far the most common) slur - but all manners of slurs likely follow a very similar distribution.
SC2 Mafia's racism problems are NOT due to a widespread problem with the "culture" of the game. The problems are NOT due to new players or infrequent players that use the game as a playground to grief. The problems are created and perpetuated by a very small but very vocal group of regular players that push the idea that using slurs and casual racism is okay. It's not.
I've seen these people claim that "everyone" uses slurs or racism in mafia - so fighting the problem isn't possible. That's simply not true. The group that contribute the large majority of the problem isn't even large enough to fill a full 15 player lobby.
This aligns with my personal observation. Racism is not a widespread problem within the Mafia community.
Many find it distasteful and leave the community because of it.
But at any given point in time, there is a vocal minority of racist griefers who ruin the game for the playerbase.
I'm interested to see and run your Python code through my save files.
Could you share it to me in a PM?

Re: Racist names (yes this again)
My hot take:
People have problems that they create for themselves. This does not make them "bad" and doesn't necessarily make them stupid. Some people just watch too much TV.
That being said, I do believe there is nothing wrong with saying the n word or pedo stuff, especially in SC2Mafia, which is a very trolly place.

This is probably a better argument than "racism". At least it's more honest, which already makes it a better argument.

Luckily this inane belief will have no policy changes here in sc2mafia.

I would agree with you if you meant only cases where the person offended is treated with dignity and respect.
But that's not the case. You're talking about an absolute statement, so you're including cases where the offended is being diminished as a person.
Without being offended, slavery would still exist and women would still have no rights.
If a retard was made fun of for being a retard by his community, even those closest to him, and ended up killing him/herself. Hey, it was his choice for being offended - that's what you're saying.
Go remind your grandparents every day that they're old. Go remind a local cripple that they can't walk and laugh about it.
Don't worry - if they get offended; you can just say it was their choice.

If you wish to be offensive, then why be surprised if people are offended?
Isn’t that the objective? Mission accomplished?

Next time you agree with an 'absolute statement', you might want to elaborate on that beforehand.
Unless you want to argue for arguing sake and waste other people's time, ofc.

My cold take:
People have limits/boundaries. Everyone has something that sets them off. You can talk all the shit you want to me, I've heard it all before, I have no shits left to give. But if someone talks shit about my family they're going to end up with a missing leg.
You have some kind of boundary to deal with your parents (allegedly. I've got no idea if that's true or not but it's the example I'm gonna use here). How is that any different than someone having a boundary with racism or pedophilia? If I or someone I know had a bad experience with a pedophile at a young age I'd absolutely not be comfortable with it here. I'd appreciate the steps that aamirus and the administrative team are taking to make it less of an issue in the game and within the outer community. I would be very thankful that steps are being taken to respect my boundaries.
You wouldn't be ok with someone making fun of your parents. I wouldn't be ok with someone making fun of my parents. Why is it ok to make jokes about pedophiles?
Before I post something I do a test: I read my post out loud as though I'm explaining it to someone. If I can't explain "why" it's funny without thinking I sound like a complete fucking sociopath it's probably because it's not funny.
-
Re: Racist names (yes this again)
Contrary to popular belief, I am actually a person who gets offended rather easily, and often times I come to the conclusion that I am unreasonable doing so. Most things are just jokes; treat them as such. Nuff said
-
Re: Racist names (yes this again)
I don't understand why you feel the burning desire to insert your opinion on racism and pedophilia here oberon. Why don't you find some alt-right site to post this dribble? Everyone except maybe a couple of randos don't appreciate seeing this spew.
Do you think people are going to laud your stand for allowing pedophilia in the arcade? Or are you just trying to stir people up because you're bored?
-
Re: Racist names (yes this again)
I agree, getting offended is a choice when on the internet.
It's a whole different thing when someone called you a retard or a n*gger on the internet compared to a friend or a fellow you are personally working with. So yeah, I don't really care much about it even if they my mother a hussy.

They lack attention, and doing this fills that void imho.
Something strange just happened to me.
In my language these are 2 entirely different things: attention deficiency and attention disorder. Translating it directly didn't work because English has ADHD - which has both of the words in it whilst only having the meaning of one.
What is it called in English what I just described?

You'd probably just say they're desperate for attention, a prima donna, a drama queen, a showoff, etc. depending on the context of what they do
