what's with the extreme redundancy?
we have a forum with, what? 14 active users at most?
we have a forum mafia section where 12-player games can take up to a month to fill?
and we have a forum mafia HEAD ADMINISTRATOR who oversees... a forum mafia administrator?
is the workload of a game a month too much to manage? lmfao
this shit is literally a bunch of ppl standing in a circlejerk handing eachother medals and congratulating eachother

some threads, literally a quarter to half of the replies are red or staff.
we have more staff than regular users and yall really cant figure out why this site is dying?
we have more staff NOW than we had when this website had 50 active users. LOL
jesus christ
Re: what's with the extreme redundancy?
mm literally calls himself the head forum mafia admin
theres ONE person on the ENTIRE STAFF who is fm dedicated
and its deathworlds
a position mm made
like what the fuck
seriously what the fuck
Re: what's with the extreme redundancy?
okay now you're just bitching about the good old days. This site has been on the verge of death for like half a decade. The only two reasons the site has lasted this long are SJ and MM. MM has done a craptonne for the site. You went AWOL for ages and missed it.
Re: what's with the extreme redundancy?
Copypasting from another post of mine:
we have 3 FM staff members (myself included). The rest are on the Arcade side of things. That is not more than before: back when I joined, when we had a hard time filling 13Ps, there was Mesk514 as Head of FM, and Deathworlds + RLVG as FM Moderators (and actually I forgot about Iced_Monopoly, so that makes 4 in total); the amount of FM staff has actually always been around 3 in history, if I'm not mistaken.
Also, "administrator" means you can do administrative things, like playing with sections (it's a permission thing). Head of FM means I lead the FM section.
Another also, all of AIVION, Deathworlds and myself are FM-dedicated. And I didn't "make" any position lol, experienced FM moderators have historically had access to admin powers (either directly or through the FMGM account).
I welcome civil constructive criticism (which the recent threads about "moderation" and "staff being anon in games" have mostly been, by the way), but this thread is full of things that are literally verifiably false.

sorry but i've got 5 years on you. you joined when we stopped doing full forum mafia. you have zero firsthand experience of the site, and nothing i've said is verifiably false.
seems a bit like you're trying to turn this site into a mu clone or some other site u never made staff on, and now ur enforcing rules that work on sites like that, and ur just alienating the preexisting community.
im quite aware of the difference between administrator roles. we used to have that many fm mods... when we had 30+ player games. now it takes nearly a month to fill a 12 player game.
grasping at straws to insist on ur own relevance
sad!

lmao. what has marshmallow done singlehandedly that's extended the longevity of the site. lmk
other than banning people from hosting when we've got a very short list of capable hosts as is, i mean. but id say thats more exacerbating the death of the site rather than extending its life.
Re: what's with the extreme redundancy?
also neither of you cared to challenge the fact more active members are staff than regular users. a top heavy hierarchy is retarded

Lol. I will not engage in shit-throwing with you, sorry :P
People can fact-check for themselves. "More staff than when we had 50 users" - no
"more active people in staff than not in staff" - no (auwt oberon dark-magician zedus renegade bananacucho bakermir martingg99 frostbyte, all non-staff and there are more, check the archive)
insults - seriously?
Come on. I'm gonna stop there.

sounds kind of like you've got no actual argument, but okay.
Re: what's with the extreme redundancy?
"my role is necessary.. but im not going to explain why. just totally trust me, site definitely isnt top heavy in staff. its absolutely necessary that 10 of 15 consistent users are staff"
Re: what's with the extreme redundancy?
from what i see, to keep "personal bias" out of rulings, it seems you only needed deathworlds as fm staff so you could play sfms without people saying accusing you of being biased. but why even be staff at that point if you need a stand-in to do your job for you so you can play? sounds like you could just retire and play and nothing at all would change. but gotta keep that epeen going. eziest way into a chicks pants at the bar is telling her you're one of 10 admins on a website of 15 ppl lmao

so you read the entire post, and instead of rebutting to the substantial bit, you made the effort to reply to the obviously humorous bit i placed at the end. kind of pathetic honestly.
you legitimately have no reason why you need to be staff if you need a staff position to do your job for you so that you can participate in games

hes actually not wrong... but in a way neither are you :P
Re: what's with the extreme redundancy?
MM singlehandedly kept the FM side alive of sc2mafia when it went through one of it's worst spells. Since then he has since delegated some of that responsibility to other people, a good thing too since I always worry about him burning out. He is one of the most respected current staff in my eyes, and probably a lot of others. I find it astounding that he cares so much for the site, despite the fact that people shit on him for assuming that he has the worst intentions. He doesn't.
Re: what's with the extreme redundancy?
There's a simple way to fix this. Give Bruno a colored name and laugh at him next time he tries to diss people with colored names. 4Head

the only reason you wouldn't want a red name this badly is if you secretly really wanted it
