The Sticky has been updated with all relevent information.
Good Luck.
I'm sure everybody knows that I've been reduced to one arm, correct. Anyways, I want most of you to distance yourselves from me during the day, since you shouldn't associate yourself with an one-armed godfather. I expect all of you to respect Jack and Oops's judgement, however.
To begin, Graves and Irelia are good targets for Erudito ... thoughts?
Also, if you have Skype, you can join a night chat moderated by Elixir.
I also think Leona is a good kill target, JUST SAYING
I forgot to update the sticky with Lucy's target.
I've done this now
Poppy, Rammus, Zilean, or Riven are good targets. So is Nocturne.
It might be a good idea for Escaho to check Nocturne.
I meant Corki, sorry.
Keep in mind the "unless they pose a direct threat to our objective" clause of your victory conditions. Killing neutrals, if present, cannot win with the brotherhood.
Well, that stinks. Thanks for informing me of that. 0.o
I'm more inclined to check Gangplank, but I'm also liking Poppy and Nocturne.
What are the chances of a Veteran in this setup?
My first time ever as Mafia on the forums! I'm excited (but man, if I was a town role that could investigate, I would choose between Gangplank or Morgana on name recognition alone...).
Can you explain in short what you have noticed on Day 1?
There is another question that bugs me now. Are players allowed to post their role card pictures (possibly in spoiler tags)?
Let's say for example there is a Data Analyst and only he knows his role card image. He then posts his image in day chat (either full or in spoiler tags) and thus proves himself that he is Data Analyst because no one else except him knows how his role card looks.
How you can resolve this serious issue, Elixir?
I'd say enough.
Gangplank, Poppy, and Nocturne are all good targets. I just want to make sure that Corki isn't Anson or the real Jailor.
However, as you said, a real power role will probably check GP, so it's up to you for now. I don't see a reason to force my will, atm. Discuss your findings on GP.
Again, Fragos and Escaho, do you have skype?
If you do, ask elixir1991 to add ye to the supervised night chat.
I don't have time for skype right now. I'm at work. I barely have time even to check night chat.
Does anyone have a strategy figured out for how we'd use my role, by the way? I was thinking of revealing myself as a certain other non-mafia player, and hope that the real jailor would somehow be found out through revealing and investigation, so the other random dude would be placed in a bad position. There are plenty of things we can do.
That guy can post your conversation at Day 2 as well. Try to ask some provoking answers. Make sure other players won't believe that he was "supervised".
For example, try to make him answer the following questions:
"Do you think that Archangel should be unbanned? Is Oops_us_dead gay?"
And then see how he will react. 8)
I'll post more insight when I return from work.
What I have time to say is that you guys need to be a bit more aware of what other mafia are doing around you in day chat. I think I counted at least 3 of you who opened up with "Wow so many pages of spam, I won't be participating in it." and then lurked. I also noted how no one else said that but us.
It's things like that that will skewer you and hurt us as a result.
My advice is to act natural, create an identity for yourself and to fashion the explanations of your night actions around it. This will give you, in my opinion, a prepared and expectedly believable defense of your claimed role. I will offer an example and further explanation of what I think we should do from night one onward in terms of using night actions and the like.
For now, I'm assigning Erudito to -hack into Graves and Irelia.
Well, should we check the overall situation?
New Abstergo are like Bolsheviks: Anson Peake like Lenin, and his "executive" like Stalin. Ignoring then for too long might lead in their victory unless both leaders are quiclky dispatched. Chances that Peake will recruit executive on Session 1 are high: even Abstergo PR might not resist the temptation of becoming "cult leader's right hand". As soon as we find Peake's idenitity, we need to relay it to town either through death note or through our Supervisor. We can even invent a lie based on that.
The Witch must be found out as soon as possible. If Escaho finds out identity of Witch, we need to jail that person and give him every possible information that we have. After that, the Witch will essentialy becomes an eight member of Assassins. With two ubercharges of her artifact she can secure our victory.
As for our subsequest actions we need to follow Escaho's trail.
If he finds out a Witch, the we will jail her and establish contact between each other.
If he finds out a Town PR, then we will kill and clean him, so that the only people that know his identity are us. That role will be safe for false claim afterwards.
If he finds out Anson Peake, then we will leak the information related to his identity to town.
If he finds out a neutral killer then we will jail him and order him to attack one of our picked targets, or else his identity will be revealed.
If he finds out an ordinary agent or benign neutral then we do nothing to him and just let him be.
Okay, now that I actually have time to make a cohesive post:
Hello, welcome, salutations. Let me first start by saying that I look forward to working with all of you. We have a fairly strong team setup(there is some synergy between roles, but not a spectacular amount) and a good roster of players, so with a little luck and a lot of teamwork and dedication we should have this no problem, right?
The first thing I'd like to discuss is how being Mafia is different than playing a non-mafia role in FM for newcomers. The Mafia is and will forever be the underdog in FM. I'll be frank, pretty much every Mafia on it's own merit has been at a disadvantage; no exceptions. But that isn't to say that the Mafia cannot win. What it does mean, however, is that the Mafia has the burden of having to put in twice as much effort, strategy, and cunning in order to have a chance at winning. Being Mafia is not something that you can just kinda coast through in FM, you really have to be involved and formulating a cohesive plan, assisting each other in coming up with strong defenses, and preparing for scenarios that could occur in the next day chat or further in the future. If you can't handle that, PLEASE say so now.
That being said, I absolutely believe that we CAN win. I will attempt to lay the groundworks for our strategy, but I am not perfect and I don't always see every flaw in my own ideas. That is the number one most important thing that I am asking from you: Do not be afraid to criticize each other's ideas, but do so respectfully. Do not be afraid to share your ideas, no matter how out there they might be. There are seven of us here, seven vastly different minds who can come together to really polish out some great ideas. Outside of night chat, we are seven strangers. But here, we are a team. Here we can unleash our blunted personas and do some truly great things. And the best part is that you can make Elixir gush over it while everyone else has no fucking idea why, because outside of this chat you are completely unremarkable.
Okay, so enough of that. Here's how I think we should handle our individual roles.
Coroner/Consig: They should be directed towards people we are unsure of, the basic concept that seemed to work well for me last time is to use the investigative roles to stay ahead of the curve. We should always know more than the town does, we should be constructing a role list based on our collective opinion and then cutting down key roles while investigating people we are unsure of. Erudito should take priority on people who seem to have knowledge that might be shared in their last will, while the consig targets everyone else.
Possible problems: I have no idea how the last will metagame will shift due to Erudito being introduced. People might leave their last wills blank, they might lie in them, we'll have to play it by ear and adjust accordingly
Janitor: Reserve at least one clean just in case a high priority last will or role comes up. Cleaning roles that line up with key players in our Mafia might also be a good strategy as well, as it will give us more breathing room as a result. The longer we can all stay alive while doing damage to our enemies, the better.
Jailor: Popular opinion seems to be that we should be searching for the witch via jailor communication. I think it's a fair plan, but I am somewhat skeptical as to how effective this will be. In order to adequately pin the witch, you'd have to hit someone in that pairing and we'd then have to use the coroner's action to confirm their authenticity and then use the jailor to communicate with them. That's three nights worth of actions, so this would only likely work if we got lucky in the first couple of days.
My idea for the jailor was to create a faux jailor identity, and we likely have a perfect opportunity to do so if you so choose to follow up on it.
Oops currently has Dust jailed, pretty much the person to get Jailor more than anyone ever has dreamed of getting it. He joked that he would get it again before the game started, and if he was jailor he would likely desperately try and hide it. So what if we use the threat of a disguiser to our advantage? What if we dismiss Dust as a lost cause for the moment(to him) but give him a list of words as a disguiser check, maybe even disguise the check as something else to minimize the chance of him saying "here's my disguiser check for the jailor", maybe more like a list of words to be read to make sure he's still loyal.
Then, for subsequent nights, we inform the jailed person that the jailor will say the next word on the list we gave Dust the next day, and then they should state a coded word pertaining to their role(Dust's idea) in response during day chat. This way, we circumvent the trust issue, remain completely faceless, and leads to an inevitable fit of confusion. This -cannot- be kept up forever, but it's really at no harm to us either.
Escort(Me): I plan on blocking possible town powers who are acting particularly scummy(many do), and by doing so I will be a more credible escort claim as a result. With mirror roles you can tell a lot about a person by who they use their actions on, and so I hope to eliminate that by justifying my actions with the idea that "they are scummy so I blocked them".
These are my initial thoughts, please feel free to comment on them.
I think this is a pretty good layout for consig, aside from what I stated above about jailing the witch. I don't know if we should leave Anson up to the town's discretion either, I think if we find him we should execute him ourselves and pull his list of recruits off him at the same time.Quote:

Hmm well let me just say hello everyone, I look forward to working with you.
That said, I'll be perfectly honest this is only my second forum mafia and my first time as mafia. So feel free to make critiques and suggestions throughout the course of this game, it'll help me a bit.
As for now, I'm going to start checking random last wills, including whoever is in our jail on a given night.
Reading what has been said in this thread so far would be a good start.
A personal disguiser check and one offered by a jailor are two different things, but in order to minimize the chance of it happening is why I suggested we word it differently, just a word that is somewhat uncommon so it doesn't get misconstrued. Suggest execution if he doesn't keep it up, even, as the jailor will know something is up. I don't know, it'd be worth trying regardless in my honest opinion because if he does make mention of it, we can just cut our losses and think of a new plan.Quote:
This idea is pretty good, but, I think Dust would still say, "here is my disguiser check" because why would someone who doesn't know the disguiser check, try to make one up.
Yes, I agree, it is always worth trying a plan and seeing if it succeeds before ruling it out.
I suggest we send me for the kill, obviously.
I'll just toss this out there now: In the event that I was discovered last night (by a Sheriff), I will claim Investigator and say I was framed. Town will also likely think I'm a Consig, but that little bit of doubt might keep me alive. It's the obvious claim in that scenario. I will share my results on my target in the event that this happens (bonus trust from town if I find a neutral of some sort). If I find an SK, should I call him Doctor? We're going to need his extra kills. He'll know I'm mafia, though. [An unlikely scenario, but plan for everything!]
Gangplank screams Power Role to me. Above average amount of posts on Day 1, having troll-y fun with the mega posters, but not so much as to be defined as a spammer. It's possible he's a Citizen, but I expect Sheriff/BenignNeutral/Vigi/Mayor of some sort.
I am skeptical of Nocturne. His posts are meant to provoke emotion (using words such as the 'N' word, racist, and rape. Why do this? To draw attention. Or a spammy troll. One of the two. Possible Veteran?
However, re-reading the Day 1 thread, I am drawn to Renekton, Nunu, and Zilean. I am getting a neutral, town power, and killing role from them, respectively.
I will not perform my action until later today, but I am willing to take suggestions. I will make a list of code words pertaining to each possible investigation result (since I determine exact role) and will mention that in my first post of the next day so you will all know the result of who I investigated.
I am almost sure that Rammus is Luna, and that she is a town power role.
Know what, let's have Erudito -hack Rammus and Lee Sin unless Oops needs to execute.
I'd suggest Zilean or Gangplank out of the four.
-send Katarina to kill Poppy
btw For what it's worth, I think Lux is blazer.
Sticky updated with the actions currently submitted.
Changing as previously discussed. -hack Irelia and Lux
I'm not doing anything this night. Not even random clean. I don't want Trackers and Watchers see anything suspicious.
-break Shaco
We need some kind of code for consigliere to react early, but Escaho still has not submitted his action.
Consig codes aren't necessary in the slightest and it's a bad habit.
The only way it would ever be useful if the consig was lynched that day and worse comes to worst they can just drop something in their last will about it.
BTW, my avatar was supposed to be a message to Cap and False to piss them off, my avatar is a "butter fly"
