Was this changed recently? The Wiki still states that a Coroner will not appear in the game unless there is a Janitor or Disguiser that cleans (or if it's Clue variant). However, the game I just got done playing 10 minutes ago had a Coroner with Mafia having Framer and BM, and we pretty much lost the game because of confusion over this fact.
A coroner can still be pretty useful even without a janitor/disguiser.
- he can find out who was culted or whom the cult failed to recruit
- he can confirm blackmails, frames, roleblocks, bus drives, doc heals etc and figure out who was affected by abilities without speaking up about it the next day
- if the investigated target was a non-killing mafia role besides janitor, he can 100% clear non mafia players
Coroner can appear without a janitor or disguiser when the ability to check all targets is on if I'm not mistaken.
I'm not saying the role isn't useful. I'm saying that, based on the info available, the conditions for a Coroner appearing are not apparent right away.
And the Coroner was actually pretty useless in the game we were in due to 3 drops and 2 people dying each night with Mafia/SK killing (and no Cult). But that's not really the point.
CORONER IS STILL USEFUL WHEN YOU HAVE A DIPSHIT POWER ROLE WHO DIDN'T STATE WHO THE FUCK THEY VISITED
