Role Sugestion: Schizophreniac
-Role name: Schizophreniac
-Description: You are a paranoid citizen who thinks everyone is out to get you.
-Alignment: Neutral - Advanced / Power
-Abilities: Hide yourself in your home at night to Observe visitors and see what their intention was in visiting you.
-Win Condition: Survive to see the Town or Mafia win.
-Host Options:
. Knows visitors Exact role.
. Can hide 2 time
. Can hide 3 times
-Pros: a Survival role with a bit of effect to the game. bit of revenge for being attacked by revealing a person who visits you with the intention to kill. another possable role to fit in with the Godfathers investigation. See Below*
-Cons: cant really think of any. not too powerful, and not too weak really. tho they can really throw people off, much like a bus driver if played right.
-Overall effect on the metagame if implemented: Paranoia, do you trust him? if hes an investigator? a Conlingaer? (sp?) or is he really just trying to survive? does he know for sure what really visited him, or is he guessing?
Additional comments: this would be a fun role that that is a survival role but with a little bit of power. while he is a neutral he can decide to help whom ever he chooses, (tho its in his best interest not to help serial killers and arsonists, as he cant win with them) or just not say anything at all about who visited him.
Additionally Hiding will Block any action made to you that night. I.E: A member of the Mafia tries to kill you at night. the Schizophreniac will not die, instead he will know that person visited him, and with the intention to kill him. depending on host roles he can either know their exact role. or just that the person is a killing role. (could be Mafioso, Vigilante, Serial Killer, God father)
*Detections that the Schizophreniac see's from visitors on nights that he is hidden:
-Mafioso, Vigilante, Serial Killer, God father Arsonist: <Name> Has visited your home with the intention to kill you!
-Sheriff. Investigator, Conlieginar(sp?): <Name> has Visited your home and Begins to snoop around...
-Jailer, Disguser: <Name> has visited your home with the intention to Capture you!
-Witch, Busdriver, Blackmailer: <Name has visited your Home with the intention to Manipulate you!
-Doctor, Bodyguard, Janitor: <Name> Visits your home and finds you. they try to convince you they are here to help you... but you drive them away!
-Escort, Consort, Cultist, Mason leader: <Name> Visits your home with suspicious intentions...
-Lookout, Detective, Framer: <name> Is watching your home... but You come out of hiding and drive them away!
*Detections other roles get visiting the Schizophreniac
-Sheirff: Always not Suspiscous
-Investigator, Conlieginar(sp?): Appears to be a citizen but may be hiding something sinister...
*Serial Killer: If the Serial Killer has the setting to kill role blockers he will kill the Schizophreniac if he is hiding that night he visits. Serial killer's will see this message, "a Paranoid Citizen hides in this home, but you have other plans for them..." (Buwhaha!)
*Arsonist: If ignore Immunity is set to on, the arsonist will still Douse the Schizophreniac
-Detective: Your target did not visit anyone
-Lookout: on nights hidden* Nobody visited your target.
-Doctor: on Nights Hidden* Will not see if attacked.
-Bodyguard: on nights hidden* Will not see, or Defend if attacked.
-Jailer, Disguiser: on nights hidden* You could not find your target...
sooo... tell me what cha think? :D
Re: Role Sugestion: Schizophreniac
Looks ok-ish. More fun than survivor anyway.
But a few comments:
The hiding action shouldn't count as a roleblock, nor as immunity, but a new type of 'hidden immunity'.
Meaning an SK shouldn't kill you when they use their ability and no message should be displayed to any attacker in any case except an arso who ignores immunity. This will leave them to think the target was healed. And the schizo can even bluff being healed if he wants to with the usual "thanks doc".
Lookout should work as usual regardless of the schizo's actions, since he's watching who visits the schizo's house. He doesn't need to know if the schizo himself is even in there.
The framer's action should work as well. This can lead to interesting situations where a sheriff or invest finds you as mafia, and you know who the framer is.
Jailor not finding the schizophreniac is nonsense. The jailing action occurs during the day and makes night actions impossible, so he can't hide to begin with.
The disguiser should get no message and perceive a hidden schizo like any other direct killing role (see the SK comment). The schizo should see a visiting disguiser as other killers as well (it doesn't capture anybody, it kills them and takes their place).
The bus driver is a questionable case. Either it should receive a message that he wasn't able to switch anyone that night because he couldn't find you, or he should still be able to force actions directed at you to target his other target (he puts someone else in your home, whom will be named Mr X), which will allow you to spot all people who visit Mr X (anyone who targeted you, as well as anyone who targeted Mr X). That might be overcomplicating things, but I think it could provide an interesting twist.
I'd divide the message categories as well. Remove the lookout/det/framer message as well as the jailor/disguiser message and change around message categories as follows:
-Mafioso, Vigilante, Serial Killer, Godfather, Disguiser, Arsonist: <Name> Has visited your home with the intention to kill you!
-Sheriff. Investigator, Consigliere, Detective: <Name> has Visited your home and Begins to snoop around...
-Escort, Consort, Framer: <Name> Visits your home with suspicious intentions...
-Witch, Blackmailer, Cultist, Mason leader: <Name has visited your Home with the intention to Manipulate you!
-Doctor, Bodyguard, Bus Driver, Janitor: <Name> Visits your home and finds you. they try to convince you they are here to help you... but you drive them away!
This allows the schizo to make more educated guesses who's on what side, though the exact roles may be slightly harder to determine. The descriptions also make more sense for some roles where they were a bit strange before. (a bus driver trying to manipulate you? :p)

that's actually what i had in mind far as the hidden immunity sort of thing. it would seem that they where healed by a killing role as they get no message.
far as the SK and role block thing goes. the idea for this role is Paranoia, and its goals are to win with the town and the mafia. allowing the SK to kill the Schizo if role blocking is on is extra incentive (and Paranoia) for the Schizo to be careful of. "there could be a sk.." "there is a sk" knowing that if he reveals what he is, hes an easy target for the serial killer. i guess one way of looking at the role is a Neutral role who's enemies are other neutral roles. additionally having it set like this the SK would know he can easily kill the Schizo. this would make for a fun trap for a smart veteran to pose as a Schizo and then go alert that night.
looking at it in a roleplay sense the Schizo just wants to live. he knows that if he helps the town, they might protect him and that if he helps the mafia they might too. the Serial killer and the arsonist tho, they are what the Schizo fears. they really ARE out to get him. the Schizo has to be careful tho, because the faction he decides to reveal to, or to help just might not protect and help him... its something for him to think about when using the knowledge he has collected while hiding in his home observing visitors.
this same logic with the SK is also true with the arsonist by passing his protection. he can still see the arsonist attempt to kill him.. but he doesn't know he is doused unless exact role detection is on. also he cant stop it, and obviously if the Schizo is hiding the night the arsonist lights the fire, he will still die.

far as the framer goes. this would also make it logical to say that the sheriff can investigate him pn nights hidden. i didn't think about for the Schizo to get caught framed the framer and the sheirff have to "both" visit him the same night, that totally slipped my mind. the framer being able to frame on nights hidden would indeed make a good case. :D
and again your right. not being able to jail someone who has a night role is silly, i dunno what i was thinking there. this also makes it appropriate for the disguiser to be seen as an attempt to kill. now that you don't have to think about what the jailer would be to the schizo, because he can jail the schizo before he can hide.. duh lol *face palm*

the being able to see 2 sets of visitors does seem a bit over complicated. i think the best way to solve it is Mr. X will still move as he would with any other person and receive any action would have happened to the schizo. the difference would be that the Schizo now hides in Mr. X's home and see's his visitors. the Schizo would see he was bused, so he would know the people that visit him that night are not "his" visitors, but he also doesn't know who's they are.
people will often say if they are bused. or if the Schizo says "i was bused" someone may respond they where bused to. be it the truth or not. he now knows (or thinks he knows) who's visitors the people were last night.

Assuming that the Bus Driver would work as i mentioned above it, it wouldn't make its way into the detection list. lol and i had bus driver under manipulate because of his action, not that he was a bus driver, but who knows. maybe the bus driver knocks you out? Steals your car keys? Slashes your tires? or offers you free candy? ... just what does he do to get you on that bus.... :D
I think your compilation of role detections and the insight behind works much better yes. tho im still pretty stuck on my ideal with the SK! thanks for your thoughts!
Re: Role Sugestion: Schizophreniac
I'm not a huge fan of SK's killing roleblockers, but then again that option can simply be turned off. I suppose giving the role some vulnerability which the Survivor doesn't suffer from makes it so the surv at least has some edge over this role, so it's not entirely obsolete. So it's not such a bad thing 8)

if i had this role in my set up i would have detect exact role off and allow 2 nights of hiding. i would have survivor allowed 4 vests so survivor has the extra "survival" edge over the Schizo, plus in most cases a SK isn't going to attack a survivor if he thinks hes a survivor. the survivor is not a big threat to him, is potentially a wasted night if hes vested and can now win with him when it comes down to it.
the Schizo however, is a threat to the SK. he cannot win with the SK therefore he will out the SK if he thinks, or has found him. its in the SK's best interest to kill the Schizo. (If SK kills role blockers is set to: OFF) if SK kills role blockers is set to: ON there is another thing. a Survivors vest will protect from an sk's attack. a Schizo who hides cannot be healed by a doctor, so if the night the Schizo happens to hide is the same night a doctor tries to heal him it wont save him from the SK, because his ability to block actions will stop the doctors heal, but cannot stop the SK's kill so the Schizo would die. with that said the Schizo does have a extra weakness the Survivor does not. he is more likely to be targeted by an SK and a arsonist. this counter balances the power it is given.

i just got a better idea, one that dosent effect which setting the SK has.
The 4th host option for Schizophreniac could be "Vulnerable to Neutral killing roles" this way the SK dosnt have to kill role block to kill a hiding Schizo. he just Bypasses the Immunity if checked. also The arsonist will still Douse a Hiding Schizo as well if this is checked.
Re: Role Sugestion: Schizophreniac
When this guy is hiding SK/Arson shouldn't be able to get at him. "Your could not find your target...."
