Traitor : a new role idea
a person who gets to inspect 1 person each night and see if their target is neutral/town/mafia
his goal is to live until the end of the game. wins with anyone
sided with neutral/no one.
---------------------------------------
the idea here is that the traitor could go either way and help out which side he wants to.
Re: Traitor : a new role idea
So it's a survivor that doesn't have vests and investigates people. Neutral Sheriff?
Re: Traitor : a new role idea
thats one way to look at it, only he doesnt determine roles, just sides
Re: Traitor : a new role idea
Sorry I'm not feelin' it. A neutral sheriff is just a survivor that is easier to kill at night because he can't vest.
If he wins with anyone, what's the point of investigating people to determine their alignment?
Re: Traitor : a new role idea
like this, night 2, youve found a neutral role and 1 mafia member. with this bit of information he could send a pm to the serial killer and say "this person is mafia" or he could out to the town this person is mafia. or he could out to the town this person is serial killer. or do nothing at all and proceed to find more roles....
now if he finds a townie it generally means nothing.
the purpose of this role is to basicly screw over whatever team he wants to depending on the situation, lots of town left he outs a mafia, lots of mafia left and a few town left he outs a townie, 4 people alive and a serial killer left he sides with sk.
even if he finds a townie its one less neut to land on should he decide to help mafia.
what i was going for here is a less useless survivor and more of a power role would could actually help out mid to late game and be influential in who could win.

He's right. Your role is basically an anemic Sheriff forced to stay Neutral. Every neutral role has an ability that affects other players, the Traitor can only find information.
Your role would need a buff that would give him some kind of ability against others. For example, the Jester's ability allows him to kill a player at night once he dies, and the Executioner has night immunity(sometimes). If the Traitor had the power to say, reveal everyone he checked out, then maybe, just maybe, this could work.
Re: Traitor : a new role idea
i feel that this kind of knowledge is too much power to begin with because he can win with everyone. he can help anyone, no one, or just one team.
Re: Traitor : a new role idea
i guess what i wanted from this role is a role with no alignment and who could help out whatever team he wanted to, they would have an ability, and that ability would be used to help whatever side which would benefit himself the most.

I'm just not sure a neutral sheriff is where you wanna go with that though.
If I was non-town, I'd probably kill him just like a town sheriff. Town has numbers and it's just another sheriff to help town win. He's already favored for town.
Re: Traitor : a new role idea
Basically a good idea for this role is the same of the traitor in EpicMafia : is sided with mafia , but if risk to get killed he became town , and he appears as mafioso to mafia
