Option:

- can be healed only when not revealed

Is that not a brilliant idea? Then no more Incognito gamethrow AND you don't have to just sit quiet before revealing if you're not healable.

A revealed Mayor who's healable is a bit too much (my games are too easy to win as Mayor when I'm healable if town is decent). This also helps to eliminate troll Mayors and while giving a reason not to prematurely reveal when not healable.

This is a good idea considering Jailor+Doctor is the typical setup instead of Mayor+Bodyguard.

I don't know that this should be an option. An unrevealed Mayor should be able to be healed because his power hasn't come into effect yet. I am sure it was easier to program this way, and, probably, wasn't directly intended to turn out the way it did but yeah..

Yeah I agree. The option should not come in to play until revealing.

It's never been a big issue for me since my saves allow mayor to be healed always.

If the mayor cannot be healed, he cannot be healed even before he reveals.
Which sucks when you're doc, and you waste your nights healing the mayor and he dies anyways.

Same, but I have played some saves where it doesn't allow and I will random heal the person that happen to be Mayor and they die form 1 attack and I'm left sitting there like... "uhhhhh."

So why is this an option to begin with? Is there a fear of town OP if the mayor can be healed?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mafia_(party_game)#Optional_roles

Didn't see anything mentioned here about it.

I agree with this idea actually...

I have no problem with a Mayor being healed... as long as I'M the Mayor. And then, the town is op.

Healable Mayor is op. Period. A completely non-healable Mayor is nerfed. Period.

A Mayor who can be healed while unrevealed and then not healed while revealed is balanced. That also gives reason to keep the Incognito achievement along with an incentive to increase chance of survival while pulling a doc while still healable as unrevealed.

A heal-able mayor can be balanced in certain saves. It all depends.
My save doesn't even start with a Doctor confirmed, so the odds of one aren't the greatest as is. xD

Mine doesn't even start with a Mayor.

You would have to be pretty lucky to know who mayor is without his reveal unless verbally mentioned.

If the mafia or SK have a problem, then there is a simple solution. Kill the Doctor. Then kill the mayor.

(Assuming there is only 1 doctor present in the game.)

All roles that can die at night should be given the option to be healed by a Doctor on n1 without having to reveal d1 on a no-lynch day start.

However, a Mayor who can be healed 24/7 is too easy to win as if the Mayor knows wtf he's doing.

I'm an op healable Mayor. It is usually when I'm non-investigative that I pin roles most accurately. Make me a Mayor that's confirmed town with 4-vote power and can be doc'ed while getting claimed roles via pm as the dialogues progress, then the non-towns have a long, hard road ahead.

Let me explain why:

Through the course of pms to me, all other town roles can remain publicly anonymous and write -lws. Those who didn't pm or pmed an unwise role to fake-claim, get weeded out as the deaths go by. Also, my -lw becomes highly informative. The most powerful anti-healable-Mayor is the Janitor. But most of the time, Janitors don't get played to the best of their abilities.

An option making the Mayor healable while unrevealed and non-healable while revealed, once again, creates the most common balance and legitimizes "Incognito".

Actually, want to know my best case for this now that I think of it?

Archangel's "can't lose with -prefer Mayor" save.

That's fine any everything Xen, I do get what your saying, but then mayor I feel has been reduced to a citizen whom get voting bonus for one night.

Your forced to play as a Citizen until you feel you have to make a move to get majority voting. Once you do that your basically as good as dead the following night unless there is a bodyguard or Bus Driver present. Just one day of vote power and your done.

Just seems like a waste. You know?

Elite... Mayor reads "leader among men", Cit reads "cit/sinister". Cits can also guarantee n1 survival.

...

Very different roles. You think in terms of troll-only.
