[EVIL-POWER]

Cthulhu is unique power role, capable of killing any target without exception. However, the steps one must go through to summon the almighty overlord is a tedious, time-consuming, and dangerous one.

"Your target is a member of a secret society" ~Investigator
"Your target is the almighty Cthulhu. You must slay it, or die" ~Exact Role
"Your target is not suspicious" ~Sheriff

Cthulhu's Rise

To summon the almighty overlord, the Cult must survive exactly 13 days. Upon reaching the designated time, all Cultists are given an ability. With it, a random player from the pool of users is chosen, and becomes the avatar of the merciful creature. If no player chooses to become Cthulhu, a random player will be selected to embody the beast.

Once Cthulhu is chosen, the embodiment of the demon loses the ability to recruit others. If no other Cultist remains, Cthulhu's worshipers can no longer grow.

Additionally, if Cthulhu rises and there are Masons remaining, one random Mason will become the Mason Leader.

Cthulhu's Shield

As an ascended being, Cthulhu cannot simply be killed. When Cthulhu is targeted by a killing role, a random Cultist will sacrifice their own life, to resurrect their master. Once all the Cultists are killed, Cthulhu will become vulnerable.

If Cthulhu's mortal shell is lynched or executed by a Jailor, a random Cultist will instead, become the new embodiment.

Cthulhu's Hunger

Every night, Cthulhu can slay one player without exception. By consuming the victim's soul, Cthulhu ignores all protections given to the mortal.

Based on a suggestion and target system, Cthulhu's victims can be selected by itself, or by the Cult. Once Cthulhu consumes a target, their death will be shown as a suicide.

I, for one, welcome our new demonic overlord.

Cthulhu's Bane

As mentioned before, there is only one way to defeat Cthulhu. One must execute all its followers before Cthulhu can be truly defeated. Once that has occurred, Cthulhu becomes vulnerable. With that window of opportunity, one can smite Cthulhu, sending it back to the demon world.

Additionally, the leader of the Masons can directly defeat Cthulhu. With a blunt object, the Mason Leader will directly slay the demon overlord, ignoring all protections and immunity. Once Cthulhu is executed by the Mason Leader, the spirit is destroyed, permanently.

If Cthulhu attacks a Mason Leader at night, both are killed, and Cthulhu is banished, permanently.

Invulnerable at Night (No) - Allows Cthulhu to survive night attacks without Cultist shields. The Mason Leader will still be able to banish Cthulhu
Reincarnate at Night (Yes) - Allows Cthulhu to reincarnate within another Cultist if killed by anyone other than the Mason Leader
Ignore Night Immunity (Yes) - Allows Cthulhu to bypass night immunity
Nights to Raise(0/7/13)- Determines how many nights it takes to summon Cthulhu, or if Cthulhu is summoned instantly

Notes

Cthulhu was designed as an extension to the Cult, and the Masons. With Cthulhu's rise, both factions become extremely powerful as the game reaches an end, and the Masons are given an importance within the Town's bidding. For once, a single Mason will become something other than useless lynch bait, and will be given the power to make a difference.

From within the many, a few will rise. These are the men and women, who will fight the oppression of the growing evil, and these are the humans, that mankind shall look up to. Those few who believe, will be given the power, and with this power, they will become evil's bane.

You can choose the time...

Cthulhu is awesome!

But I don't really see how he fits into standard games, perhaps some pure masons vs cult games though...

nights to raise 2 / 4 / 6 tops, but still pretty pointless
if cult lives long enough they win 100% of the time, since they are kinda immortal (-1 cult at day +1 cult at night -1 villager at night)
giving cult the possibility to night kill mafia and evil killing roles would just be op

There's a cult limit, remember? The Cult can only have up to 25% of the entire number of current players, meaning that they're limited to 4 players tops. Basically. if somebody finds Cthulhu, he's dead already, as long as the Town and Mafia keep hitting him at night.

Cthulhu is designed for when the game lasts long enough, usually to end a tie-breaker. He's like the Amnesiac, tuned towards later games. He's not that strong, really, you just have to be smart about him.

^whatever are you talking about
imagine this situation 4 town no mason leader escorts and stuff left vs 2 cult - cult immediately wins - why you ask?
lynch a cult convert a town 3 vs 2 next day, repeat 2vs2
please tell me how cult isn't seriously op in late game situations

This isn't a suggestion mechanic, this is already an in-game mechanic. Also, Cult can only convert once two days. Dark designed them like that to avoid these situations. This statement doesn't involve Cthulhu, it involves the Cultists only.
