I like Doc, and Mason is alright. You just gotta apprecite the free voting block. Don't have to worry about ur Mason/ML buddy being scum.
And Doc is a game winner for sure. Bad doc= NonTown win. more times then not.

Doc is unpopular no doubt. But not sure if a one time scum kill is worth a one time heal.
Doc can heal all game buying time for the PowerTown roles to do their thing.

Not sure stastically which one is better. But ya I feel you on Doc seems to always rage out of game.

In fact you see people now saying Doc/BG on me isntead of jsut Doc on me.

Way to choose roles that are never included in any games lol
I blacklist doctor , sheriff , investigator , godfather and SK since they are all usually in the same game
Gives you more chance to get interesting role

Citizen's fun because you're free to act however you want.

Part of the reason Doctor sucks is because you have to lay low the entire game but you can also get called out as a SK, so your cover now becomes evidence against you. Playing Doc is a bit more fun with another Doc in the game if you can count on him to heal you, but then that Doc has to lay low to cover himself, unless you circlejerk heal each other, which basically just makes you dead weight on the town since you aren't protecting power roles and all you add is two votes (plus the two docs typically can't confirm each other's identities so it's a risk to publicly identify yourselves). It's just pretty hard to have a fun game as Doctor. It's not that the ability sucks, just that the whole metagame around the role sucks.

Doctor is either hit or miss for me, I can have games where I heal the attacked person 3 nights in a row and then games where I don't get a single heal right for 10 days...

You just described my very first game of mafia. First role was vigi, didn't have a clue on how to play just clicked someone (before the "you can't find your gun" on night one took effect), shot the consigliere, get congrats and skype accusations...
