Hello, I'm forum newbie so I'll do what every newbie does - start a new topic!:D

I just wanted to share my idea for new role in this game. I'm pretty sure some other guys had similar ideas in the past but I haven't found any threads.

Role: Shaman

Description: You are strange person who is able to communicate with the dead using your ouija board.

What does he do?

Option 1: During the day Shaman can type command -seance DEAD_PLAYER. If he does it, during the night he can ask ONE question to the ghost of that person. During this time ghost can't talk with other ghosts. The only thing ghost can do is answer YES or NO to this question. Shaman can use this ability only 1-4 times per game.

Option 2: During the day Shaman can type command -seance. If he does it, during the night he can ask ONE question to the ghosts. Ghosts can vote YES or NO. At the end of night most popular answer is given to Shaman. In case of tie Shaman fails to connect with spiritual world. Shaman can use this ability only 1-4 times per game.

Alignment: Town.

When investigated: Your target deals with dead bodies OR Your target is a loner (other loners are neutral or evil, so having town-aligned loner could be a good thing?).

Reason: Well, main reason is giving dead players opportunity to DO something (beside playing roulette and watching). Shaman's role would be a little bit similar to Coroner, but it could give town access to precious information that Coroner can't provide. Using Shaman to full potential would be quite challenging - player should observe game really closely to determine what question he should ask.

Well, obviously this kind of role would be real pain to implement. What do you guys think?:P

Hi, welcome to the forums!

It is a pretty neat idea, but as GriM pointed out above, it's already been said that there will be no "can compromise deadchat" roles added to the game.

Actually, dead roles are not outright prohibited, but in most cases they are frowned upon due to the effect on the quality of deadchat that they would bring. Some dead roles suggested force dead players to keep quiet about any alive teammates they might have had or important information, assuming some role is listening or could bring back a player who heard them.

This role is iffy, but I personally think it would work fine in game, since from lengthy personal experience I can easily say that most dead people don't discuss vital information anyway, or at least they just leave before they say anything

+1 for Option 1, but to be honest I don't think it would be a priority role. Maybe something for later.

this could be another troll / relief role as jester
"Do you like dicks?"
dead people vote yes-no

Sounds like a good role, however it sounds a little cheap, talking to the dead would be too OP, and I would bet it would drastically decrease the chances of winning as a killing role. It looks like a well thought out role but I don't think they would put it in the game.
