Day 2 - Innocent Bystanders

In the night previous, it was quickly found that sleep came quickly to no one. The occasional scream filled the quiet night air, and more often than not many found themselves casting suspicious glances about their houses, huddled in corners with makeshift weapons in their hands.

Arya was one such person, and much to the dismay of those whom had thought of the very idea, it didn't seem to have done her much good. The door of her house was the only cue that anything was aloof as the remaining guards of the city prowled the streets in the early morning. What remained of it lay in a disarray upon the sitting room of her home, nothing more than kindling after a seemingly powerful force struck it from it's hinges. Arya herself was found brutalized in the corner of the same sitting room, faced contorted in a permanent scream, her chest carved into a bloody mess by what seemed to be a variety of different sized blades. It appeared that she was still alive during the affair, as her arms were tied behind her back, stiff with rigor mortis. The only other notable thing about her body was that her throat was torn open, but was oddly clean despite the state of the rest of her body. Upon further search of her house, nothing unusual was found, and it was determined that she was a simple Serf.

Those who survived the night regathered in the Cathedral Square, and when tally was taken of those who remained, it was found that one was still missing. That person was Syrio, and upon search of his house, his house was found completely undisturbed. What was found within, however, turned the stomach of even the most veteran guardsmen. Syrio lay slumped over the bodies of two young children, whom had already begun to rot from having been dead for a few days. Two bite marks could be found upon his neck, and while one hand clutched tightly to the arm of the girl, the other had written a final message, carved with a spotless dagger still clutched in the palm. 'Damn the one who did this to them...' was all it read. As the guards left, one simply muttered 'Whomever he was, someone just lost a Nemesis.'

He had left behind a last will.


No doubt about it; someone is out there, and they're trying to be quiet. He notices his weapon across the room - An antique sword cast of silver that might protect him from the demon coming to take his life. He silently begins to creep towards his weapon.. or so he thought. Realizing his enemy's actions, the vampire bursts through the door with impeccable speed, knocking Syrio down and clenching his throat with his hand to stop the screams. His eyes frozen in fear, Syrio can only watch hopelessly as the creature extends its fangs and prepares to feast on a fresh morsel.. His last thought is of his family, and how he was not able to avenge them in time.. The faces of his late family flash before his eyes, then the shine of the monster's teeth as it greedily bears down upon his throat, sucking him dry of every drop of life and leaving his corpse to be found the next morning by the Watchmen of the town. His final wish unfufilled, his last thoughts were to wish death upon his family's killer.. the man known as Jaime.



With that grisly business done with, the guards fanned out around the Cathedral's square and another meeting commenced.

There is no merging mechanic. But with the limited access to town power roles to convert it's interesting for the cult to have an infiltrator in the covens. As soon as they have one member in a coven and the godfather/godmother is dead, they can just communicate with through night chat to discuss lynch targets and use their powers in unison. There's no way 2 unconverted coven members will conspire against a gigantic expanding cult. They will follow like sheep and await their turn to be converted, when the town is about to lose its majority.

There is more to scumhunting than finding 1 scummy post and using it to lead a bandwagon. One scumtell =/= scum. Multiple scumtells + odd behavior = scum. Again, look at the difference between the way Claw acted as Mafia last game (very, very scummy with multiple tells) versus how the Jester acted (a few scummy posts that got blown out of proportion by overly eager "scumhunting" townies).
