View Full Version : New Roles i would like to see with script limit increase

Neutral is lacking and in my opinion should be the first faction to get new roles. I think neutral needs the following:

-A less extreme killer. SK killing every single night can make games one-sided in just the first two nights. Arsonist is like a ticking time bomb that can just win the game out of nowhere if its not found. Theres plenty of suggestions on the forums for killers. My favorite idea is something like a disguiser with multiple charges. I'd like to see a killer that could win with a Cultist, obviously it would have to be a little less powerful.

-Information neutral role. Neutral role that can win with other neutrals but has the capability to survive town lynching with its information gathering and survive mafia hits with some other ability.

-Evil neutral. Enough fucking benign roles. Seriously.

We are going through a lot of roles right now in the R&D section, and even have a poll going on. If you have any roles you would like to have suggested, just ask anyone who has access to the thread and we would be happy to suggest it. Any new role suggestions get discussed for balance and shtuff. :D

I know they don't really want any cult additions, I like the Joker though :D

Cthulhu would be cool, but it's just not needed. Just like mason leader isn't needed. Masons should just vote on converts just like cults do and if they target a cult it dies.

As for less extreme killing roles, ravager is cool and would be fun to play in sc2.

I thought the same thing :O
There is a new neutral killer that is getting a lot of support called the Spree Killer. I forget how it works exactly though.

I believe it's like a lookout killer, he kills everyone who visits a target (and maybe the target too, not sure)

Thanks! Too bad I can't see that forum to see what people say about it. Why don't normal members get read access?

As for Cthulhu, I really just see him as a 1.5x strength cult for those times you don't want only 1 cult but for sure don't want 2. I can understand not wanting more cult roles, though. =(

Right now, it was easiest to set the Donors, since they are already in a group, to view it. Soon enough, he is planning on setting up a VIP group for other members to be able to see it. The problem is, I think, that a lot of people suggest things, and then there are the trolls and such people as that, that having it limited makes it much easier to manage all the content and more trustworthy to take a certain person's judgement on the matter.
Sorry about the Cult thing. :/ I don't think DR wants to mess with any cult kind of thing right now. Those kinds of roles are extremely difficult to balance, different factions around one another that is.
Edit: Btw, Joker has had good press so far. :D

The Joker is the coolest fucking role I've heard suggested on these forums ever. im slightly obsessed with that character though so maybe its biased.


Theres tons of sweet roles in this thread and on the forums. My post was just sort of to stress the areas where I think new roles are needed most.

Just out of curiousity, should we expect roles to be added slowly into the game or is it gonna be sort of a big bunch of new roles all at once?
