View Full Version : Night I - Seeds of Violence

The place is Delia, Sicily. Tonight, nearly midnight on the 12th of July in the summer of 1883, is not like other nights. Tonight, the Mafia families Corleone and Massino move to strike. An old feudal struggle has been waxing and waning for three centuries over the town of Delia. The old lord Davian Corleone and the noble siblings Raphael and Maria Massino began their conflict for reasons unknown, with conflict dispersing with the passage of time. Until recently, conflict had actually stopped. With last week's shocking murder of the sole daughter and heir of "The Godfather" Corleone, however the two families have agreed to settle their score for good.

The legendary head of Corleone is a silent, shadowed figure; none know his true identity, but all know his persona. He is ruthless yet highly cautious, making him impossible to find. However, he is a strict traditionalist and a classic monarch, believing that a proper family should have a single point of power and many arms to do its bidding.

The current heirs of Massino, also hidden from Corleone's -- and thus all of Delia's -- sight, are a brother and sister. It is not known for how long or often the Massino family has inbred itself, but there are no legal records of marriage under the name Massino from any decade since the town was founded in 1529. The siblings run their family in a democratic fashion, taking in skills and insight from every member. However, this makes the siblings easier to find due to their close involvement with family matters.

Neither the Corleone family nor the Massino family have information on the others' whereabouts. As a result, they will be forced to kill off upstanding citizens of Delia until one family is all that is left...

... Meanwhile, a lone Freemason senses the hidden depravity of Delia and predicts the coming violence following the Corleone heiress's death. He calls himself to action and begins to build the legendary movement in Delia before it is too late...

... In the depths of a cellar underneath an abandoned manor, the Listener of Ridda sits before a plain but severe altar of an unknown god. Beside him is an urn. "Thank you for your guidance toward the path of light, Anastasius." He shifts his gaze to the ashy urn. "I pray that this town can be spared from the coming fire that lies ahead." The urn, missing from the Vatican for 75 years but never mentioned to the public, contains the 15-century-old ashes of the fiftieth pope of the Roman Catholic Church. The ashes were missing until eight months ago, when the Listener found the urn on his doorstep. As a direct result, he founded the Cult of Ridda, thought to be the true God of Order. Tonight, sensing imminent calamity, he begins the process of converting the heathen town to the Cult...

The hard rule is that absolutely NO gameplay discussion of this forum mafia game may be done for ANY reason at all with ANYONE outside of this subforum. Violators will be kicked out of the game without warning.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING TEXT. SOME OF IT HAS CHANGED SINCE THE LAST GAME.

Actions for using vests, using guns, or the role actions for Armorer, Gunsmith, Sheriff, Investigator, Doctor, Cult Leader, Serial Killer, Hooker (Massino), and Framer (Massino), must be PM'ed to me. You may choose to do no action, but you must tell me if you are doing nothing (for the sake of speed).

Voting-based actions, which are Mason, Massino Mafia, and Corleone Mafia must be given in their respective subforums. How you wish to structure the votes is up to you, but make sure the decision is clear to me.

Be advised that no actions except using a bulletproof vest can be performed on oneself.

The order of operations is:
0. Talking
1. Blocking
2. Mason Recruiting
3. Cult Recruiting
4. Protecting/Giving/Framing
5. Serial Killer Killing
6. Corleone Mafia Killing
7. Massino Mafia Killing
8. Gun Item Killing
9. Detecting

Remember that Cultists that are also members of a Mafia may silently choose to not kill their target (via PM to me), so choose the person you send wisely.

This night will end in 48 hours (Sunday, June 19 at 2:00 AM, Eastern Standard Time (GMT -5)) or when all roles have given their actions.

Specific role options:

All members of the mafia vote on who to kill and decide who to send to kill (any member can kill). If the Godfather is alive, his choice overrides the other votes.

Godfather is invulnerable at night and comes up as a Citizen when investigated.

Jester kills the last person to vote for them (the hammer vote) if lynched.

Masons can vote to recruit any Citizen, but the mason sent to do the recruiting gets killed if he tries to recruit Mafia, Serial Killer, or Cult Leader. Masons kill any cult members they try to recruit, though this does not apply to the Cult Leader himself. If attempting to recruit the Cult Leader, the Mason sent to do the recruiting gets found out by the Cult Leader.

Cult Leader can recruit any role, The Cult Leader always is the one who does the recruiting, but if he tries to recruit a Mason, the Mason learns the Cult Leader's name. Cult members keep their original role but secretly change allegiance. If the Cult Leader dies, then half of the Cult (rounding up) at random kills themselves the following night, and the Cult cannot recruit anyone else afterwards.

Gunsmith gives people guns and armorer gives people bulletproof vests. Vests and guns can be used separately from the other abilities a role may have (vest protects, gun kills). This works for every role in the game, including killing roles (can kill TWICE if you use an item). Only one item may be used at a time, and multiple items (even of the same type) can be stocked up.

Serial Killer has 1 bulletproof vest that automatically works when he's hit.

Sheriffs only find Mafia, and not which type they are.

Investigators have a 50% chance to see the exact role (including Cultist) and a 50% chance to see Citizen.
