Role Cards

Armoursmith
Can give out one piece of armour at night. The target will be informed that they have received armour the following day. Armour protects the user from one attack upon use, but does not expire until used. You cannot target yourself.

Bodyguard
Each night you may choose one player to protect and one person to keep an eye on. If that player is attacked you will sacrifice your life for them and take down the attacker with you. If the person you chose to keep an eye on is the one attacking the player you chose to protect, you will survive the duel. Your attack does not pierce immunity.

Citizen
You have the power of the vote and your voice.

Cop / Insane Cop
You are a cop or an insane cop. If you are a cop you can investigate a player during the night, and will be informed if your target is Suspicious (Mafia) or Unsuspicious (Town or Neutral).

If you are an insane cop you will see the Mafia as Unsuspicious, while Town and Neutrals will appear to be Suspicious.

Coroner
Can investigate a dead body at night. You will find out your target's real last will, role, how they really died, and who they targeted each night.

Detective
Every night, you can follow a player and discover who he visited that night.

Doctor
You may heal a target at night, protecting them from one attack. Your target will not be informed they have been healed. You will not be informed that your target has been attacked.

Escort
Can choose to block a target a night. Target may not take any night actions.

Gunsmith
Every night, you can give someone a gun. They will then be allowed to shoot another player at night. You cannot target yourself.

Journalist
May choose to interview one target per night. The interview will be published anonymously the next day to the whole town. You may add your own comments alongside the interview.

Investigator
Every night, you can target a player and find out a list of possible roles that they can be.

Lookout
Every night, you can target a player and get a list of all players that visited them that night.

Mason
Can attempt to recruit someone each night. If your target is a citizen or the journalist he will be recruited. If your target is mafia he will be informed of your identity.

Medical Student
Player will be told they are a regular Doctor. Has the ability to heal players. Also has the ability to roleblock players. The first night action will be randomised, and then it alternates between the heal and the block. Your target will not be informed they have been healed. You will not be informed that your target has been attacked.

Sleuth
Can read the current last will of a living or dead player at night. If you try to read the last will of a sleuth or dirty sleuth, you will be informed that your target's last will cannot be deciphered.

Veteran
Can go on alert twice. Your attacks do NOT ignore immunities, but when on alert you are immune to all attacks and manipulation.

Vigilante
Can shoot a player at night only. You have 2 bullets.

Corrupt Journalist
May choose to interview one target per night, including yourself. The interview will be published anonymously the next day to the whole town. You may add your own comments alongside the interview and may edit your target's interview.

Executioner
Target will always be Town. If your target is killed at night you will become a jester.

Jester
May visit another player at night, but that target will not be notified. If you are lynched, you can choose one player who voted for you to die that night. Jester suicides can be healed.

Witch
At night you can force one player to target another player. You can make your target visit himself. If your target is a role with no night action or has spent their limited charges on their action, he will still visit whoever you control him to. The manipulated target will be told they have been controlled.

Actress
At night may target a player. The targets role is not revealed, but if you die you will appear to be that role in the graveyard. You will disguise yourself as the last target you visited - you do not need to pick a target every night. You show up as the target you are acting as to investigators. You are still detectable by cops.

Blackmailer
May target a player at night - that player may not talk during the next day chat, except for a single post saying "I have been blackmailed". The blackmailed player may only vote a maximum of two times.

Consigliere
Every night, you can target a player and find out a list of possible roles that they can be.

Consort
Can choose to block a target at night. Target may not take any night actions.

Dirty Sleuth
Can read the current last will of a living or dead player at night. If you try to read the last will of a sleuth or dirty sleuth, you will be informed that your target's last will cannot be deciphered.

Drug Dealer
May drug a player at night. The player will be informed that they have been blocked, witched, failed to be recruited by masons, given a gun, given armour or attacked, chosen by the drug dealer.

Fabricator
If sent to kill for the Mafia, you may make the killing appear to come from another source. You can fabricate a kill to make it look like it came from a vigilante, the other mafia team, a veteran, a jester suicide, or a gunsmith gun.

Framer
May frame a target at night, including yourself. A cop (of any kind), an investigator, a consigliere, a lookout and a detective will all receive false information from your target. If a sleuth tries to read the last will of your target he will receive your last will instead. You may choose the information each investigative role receives.

Godfather (Anders Westrum)
Can send a member of the mafia or himself to kill someone. He cannot be tracked and appears to be a citizen to investigative roles. He is invulnerable at night.

Janitor
Limited to two cleans. May clean someone at night; if the player is killed during the night, their role won't be revealed in the graveyard and you will get exclusive access to their last will. Unsuccessful cleaning attempts will not use up the charge.

Lawyer
You can change your target's last will to anything you want or remove their last will. You do not see your target's last will. The effect only works for the night it is used.

Mafioso
Can participate in the mafia's kill vote.

Rules and Game Mechanics

No outside discussion is allowed even between members of the same faction. Rep messages and PMs are not allowed.

Editing posts is strictly not allowed and will result in a modkill.

You cannot quote or pretend to quote any PMs you have received from me with the exception of the feedback messages and role cards posted here. Posting any other PMs will result in a modkill.

There will be no clues given in the RP and there are no secret RP names.

Everyone can leave last wills. Only the mafia can leave death notes.

Game will start on Night 0 to allow the mafia to allocate their roles to each member. No night actions can be used on Night 0.

Day will be 48 hours long. Day will not end early once someone has been lynched but the vote will be locked. The lynched player may continue to talk until the day is over.

Night will be 24 hours long.

Votes must be made in red or they will not be counted. You can only vote for one person at a time.

Excluding day 1, you must be active throughout the game and make at least 4 posts that contribute significantly to the discussion each day. PM me if you have to be away for a couple of days and tell me your night actions for that night. Absence for any longer than one day / night cycle will result in a modkill.

You must PM me "-suicide" to commit suicide. Doing so will lose you the game regardless of your faction.

To make a last will PM me with the title "Last Will". The body of your message is your last will.

Pen and paper codes are allowed but any codes made by using an outside source are NOT allowed. Codes relating to your last will are NOT allowed.

To send night actions, PM me with what you want to do. No special formatting is needed, just make it clear who you are targeting.

Mafia members must PM me their night actions. Night actions posted in night chat will be ignored.

FAQ

1) When will M-FM VII start?
M-FM VII will probably start close to the end or after FM XI.

2) Will the cop know which mafia his target is if he gets a "suspicious" result?
No. He will only receive the information in the feedback messages.

3) How does the interview work? Does the (Corrupt) Journalist need to choose a target during day? When will the (Corrupt) Journalist get the final version of the interview, in order to modify/add and comment on it? Will there be a deadline to submit the article (i.e. 12h - CJ needs time to modify things)? Explaining in general, rather than answering specific questions, might be better here.
The (Corrupt) Journalist chooses a target during the day. The target receives a PM at the start of the night telling them they have been interviewed. The target has 12 hours to submit an interview. The journalist will receive the interview once it has been submitted. He can then edit the interview and/or add his own comments in a separate message to be displayed after the interview.

4) Are Non-Citizen/Journalist/Mafia notified, if they failed to be recruited by Masons? There is a drug, that creates this kind of feedback message, but it's not listed in the Recruited by a mason section.
Town PRs and neutrals will not be notified that a mason has failed to recruit them unless they are drugged. Mafia are notified that a mason has failed to recruit them and they will be told the name of that mason. Citizens and journalists will be recruited.

If a drug dealer chooses to drug someone with failed mason recruitment, he can choose the name of the mason that supposedly failed to recruit his target as shown in the feedback message. Town and neutrals will get the same feedback message that a mafia would get if they are drugged.

5) It is stated, that a blackmailed player may only vote two times. Is unvoting considered a vote or may the player vote/unvote/vote/unvote?
He may only post -vote someone two times. Unvoting is not considered a vote.

6) The Godfather can't be tracked. Does this mean he is undetectable by Detective AND Lookout?
Yes, the godfather is undetectable by both the lookout and detective. He will appear not to have moved to the detective.

7) Can the Mafia send anyone of their Members to do the killing?
Yes, the mafia can send any member to do the killing.

8 ) Can Gunsmith guns be used along other night actions?
Yes, gunsmith guns can be used along with your normal night action.

9) Will the Detective see both the shooting and the regular night action?
The detective will see both night actions.

10) Can multiple guns be used by one player a night?
Only one gun can be used per night.

11) How does witching interact with gunsmith guns?
If you fire a gun the night the witch controls you, you will shoot who the witch controls you to shoot along with using your regular night action on them. If you do not choose to fire a gun that night, your gun will not fire.

12) Can multiple vests be used in the same night?
No, only one vest can be used per night.

13) Can the bodyguard prevent himself from dying by protecting somebody, if he uses vests or his healed?
Yes, the bodyguard can be prevented from dying by protecting someone if he uses a vest or is healed.

14) Can the Coroner see both targets of the witching action? Will he get the real last will, and not the lawyered one?
The coroner can see both targets of the witching action. He will get the real last will and not the lawyered one.

15) If there was a Journalist in game, would he replace the slot taken by a citizen?
A journalist could be in the Citizen / Journalist slot or the Hidden Town Role slot. The Citizen / Journalist slot means only a citizen or a journalist can fill this slot while the Cop / Insane Cop slot means only a Cop or Insane Cop can be in this slot.

16) Can there be multiple (Corrupt) Journalists/Neutrals of the same role?
There can be multiples of any role, except for the godfather.

17) How would multiple witches interact with each other?
Actions

Witch 1 controls Witch 2 to target Player A.
Witch 2 controls Player B to target Player C.

Result

Witch 2 controls Player A to target Player C.

18 ) Can the Witch make player target dead ones?
Yes, the witch can control players to target dead people.

19) Will the Journalist retain his special ability, if recruited?
Yes, the journalist can still interview people if recruited by masons. He will be shown to be a Journalist / Mason in the graveyard.

20) Do Masons need to choose one of them to do the recruiting?
Yes, masons need to choose which of them is sent to do the recruiting.

21) Is the Member of the Mafia doing the killing unable to use other existing abilities, while doing the killing?
Yes, they cannot use any other abilities while killing.

22) Will you receive multiple feedback messages (attacked, witched, blocked, interviewed, blackmailed, recruited), if you are the target of two or more night actions of the same category? Does the Drug Dealer have a special position for this kind of interaction?
You will receive multiple feedback messages if targeted by the same type of action twice. The drug dealer's message will be indistinguishable from the other messages so won't have a special position.

23) Are Escorts/Consorts/Medical Students, when role-blocking, immune to witching?
The witch will control the escort before the escort blocks the witch.

24) If a Framer gets lawyered, who's last will will appear on the framed target?
The framer's original last will will appear on the framed target for the (dirty) sleuth to read. Lawyering will not affect this.

25) In case of multiple (Corrupt) Journalists targeting the same player, will you be able to write two different articles?
Yes, you can write two different articles.

26) How does a masoned Journalist just look like a Journalist to an Investigator?
A masoned journalist will have this investiagtion result: Citizen / Mason / Veteran / Godfather / Actress / Lawyer.

27) Will the order of feedback messages follow the order of operations?
Feedback messages can be in any order.

28 ) May a Framer target his own Mafia members/himself?
Yes.

29) Does the publishing of the (Corrupt) Journalist's article follow a fixed format

Article from interviewee

Comments by journalist

30) If a lawyer removes a last will will we be told in the RP?
No, if a lawyer removes a last will it will appear as if there never was a last will. Lawyer actions only take effect if the player dies.

31) Can the Coroner try to be lucky and investigate a living player in (macabre) hope of him dying the same night?
Yes.

32) Can the (Dirty) Sleuth read the last will of a cleaned player?
Yes.

33) Who does the Bodyguard share an investigation result with?
Bodyguard / Doctor / Lookout / Framer

34) The Drug Dealer role card states that there is an attacked+healed message, but there is no such feedback message in the Feedback Messages. Does the message only show attacked?
The message only shows attacked like in the attacked feedback message.

35) Can the publishing of an article be blocked?
Yes.

36) Can the Fabricator make visitations, if he isn't sent to kill?
If the fabricator is not the one sent to kill he will not kill anyone. The only way he can visit someone is if he is witched which will make him move to the witch's target without performing an action on the target.

37) Can the Mafia choose to kill one of its own members, if the shot member approves?
Yes.

38 ) Will we know if we receive a REAL or ILLUSIONARY armour or gun?
No.

39) Say I receive armour and use it. Does the armour stay on me until I get attacked (even if its 2 nights later) or is it normal that it gives +1 to life (like a doc heal) for that night only (regardless of being attacked or not).
Armour is the same as always. It expires when you use it, regardless of you being attacked or not.

40) What do you mean by "pen and paper" codes? Is something like binary code considered outside source?
You can use binary but I don't encourage it.

41) If a (Insane) Cop dies, will we know which of the two he was?
No, you will be told he was a Cop / Insane Cop in the graveyard.

42) If a framer frames someone and a lookout checks that person, does the framer himself appear along with any false targets or are all the names randomised?
The framer chooses which names appear to the lookout. He can choose any number of names to appear.

43) Does the Mafia have day chat?
No, they only have a night chat.

44) Will the beginning of day RP mention, how many killers killed a player and who it was, that killed him (See coroner killers list)? Will some be indistinguishable from each other, or do all of those need the coroner to be available to town?
You should know which and how many killers killed someone from the RP. A coroner is not needed.

45) Mason recruiting is before kills so recruitment will be successful even if the recruiter dies. Will the newly recruited citizen gain access to the mason night chat the very same night he is recruited?
He will be able to see mason chat as soon as he is recruited but will only be able to speak in it at night.

Q1: what is the message saying "you were chosen to write an article for the newspaper"?

Q2: Is the gunsmith gun the only way to commit suicide?

Q3: will the cop know which mafia his target is if he gets a "suspicious" result?

Q1: what is the message saying "you were chosen to write an article for the newspaper"?

I haven't finished doing the feedback messages yet. I'll do the rest later.

Q2: Is the gunsmith gun the only way to commit suicide?

That was a leftover from when I had a bus driver in the setup. Suicide is the same as normal.

Q3: will the cop know which mafia his target is if he gets a "suspicious" result?

No. You only get what's in the feedback messages.

Hehe I think your mason recruitment pms are mixed up

Thanks for telling me, I'll fix that.

I'm thinking of doing this new thing where you can sign up as an observer. As an observer you will:

Have read-only access to all night chat boards and dead chat.
Have access to a forum that displays all night actions and last wills as they come in.
Have access to your own dedicated chat forum for observers to talk about the game.

I thought it might be fun for people who don't want to or don't have time to participate in the actual game to have fun watching it with the same knowledge I would have as the host. I don't know how much people would be interested in this but I'm thinking of posting it along with the signups for people to become an observer if they want. Luna will be an observer because she has seen the roles list which gave me the idea to open it up to more people in the first place.

I'll only invite people I trust not to reveal anything about the game while it is in progress. Doing so will get you banned from any other games I might host. It is understandably risky doing something like this because of the potential for information to leak out and I would be putting a great deal of trust in observers to not talk to anyone else about a game they are not even in.

Any thoughts?

Yes, masons need to choose which of them is sent to do the recruiting.

Thanks for your questions, I'll add then to the FAQ and change some things :)

What is you position on codes? With a possible Lawyer in game I plan on making all my last wills forgery-proof by posting a code before the night begins. That code can then be used to check, if somebody tampered with my last will. So he will be reduced to an unlimited-uses Janitor, that doesn't clean roles. I state it again, this kind of code serves no other purpose, then to check the authenticity of a statement - no other information can be gained. Allowed or not?

-Will you receive multiple feedback messages (attacked, witched, blocked, interviewed, blackmailed, recruited), if you are the target of two or more night actions of the same category? Does the Drug Dealer have a special position for this kind of interaction?

I don't know much about codes but I don't want people doing this as it's not in the spirit of the game.

Only pen and paper codes are allowed.
Codes that relate to your last will are NOT allowed.

You will receive multiple feedback messages if targeted by the same type of action twice. The drug dealer's message will be indistinguishable from the other messages so won't have a special position.

-Considering the Order of Operations: Are Escorts/Consorts/Medical Students, when role-blocking, immune to witching?

-If a Framer gets lawyered, who's last will will appear on the framed target?

-In case of multiple (Corrupt) Journalists targeting the same player, will you be able to write two different articles?

-How does a masoned Journalist just look like a Journalist to an Investigator?

-Will the order of feedback messages follow the order of operations?

-May a Framer target his own Mafia members/himself? (Such an awesome role in this setup!)

-Does the publishing of the (Corrupt) Journalist's article follow a fixed format?

Prologue: The Dawning of a New Age

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tP4VtM-bTXQ

The world was a bitter place. Ice and snow blanketed the earth, the warmth of summer long forgotten. The technological advancements of the 21st Century quickly became meaningless in the wake of the devastation. Countless wars and natural disasters had ravaged this world, forever changing it's people. Most were lost, but a small few survived. While some still wander the frozen wastes, others have settled, binding themselves together in tribes, just hoping to survive.

Hedmark was one of the largest tribes in Norway, it's citizens numbering close to 200. It lay by a great lake, now frozen, called Rogen. Fish were plentiful in the lake and elk could be found in the woods surrounding the town. Jarl Halfdan ruled over his people from the mead hall, Heorot. He had felt troubled of late. Hedmark had seen a large influx of travellers from the East. They said they were running from the masked men. Halfdan furrowed his brow. What was he to make of all this? He was far too old and far too weary. The Jarl had sent his son, Ragnar, to go East and hear what tidings men tell there. That morning the jarl was presented with his son's head.

"My Jarl, your son was ambushed as he crossed the eastern border..."

"Let me grieve for my son."

"My Jarl, they wore the gold crown of Vestfold"

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/7/74/Vestfold_våpen.svg/200px-Vestfold_våpen.svg.png

Jarl Ragnvald looked upon Hedmark with envious eyes. The Vestfold were hardy people but they knew they faced their end. So many hunts had come back with nothing, not even the smallest hare had been found. His people were starving and he was sick with fear. He had heard rumours of a strange men in the East and the bandits were getting ever bolder in their encroachments onto his land.

He had been told his men had butchered the Jarl of Hedmark's son, thinking he was a common traveller with coin they so desperately needed. How foolish they had been... Now the Jarl wanted his head and was willing to go to war to get it. Vestfold was is no shape for war. His people were starving, children were malnourished and sickly and he needed his men to scavenge for food not to fight some futile war. Gathering his bravest and most loyal warriors to him, he spoke to them.

"Vestfold might not survive this coming winter. We have little food and Jarl Halfdan is preparing to march on our home. This is not an order but a request. Will you go to Hedmark and stop Halfdan before he comes to destroy Vestfold? If you will not do this for me I will go to the Jarl myself and offer my head as penance for his son."

Jarl Ragnvald was not a brave man, nor did he wish to throw his life away but if it came to it he would do so to save his people. No one could say the Jarl did not love his people. The warriors of Vestfold pledged they would do as he asked and said goodbye to their Jarl. They would be traveling light to blend in with the other travelers visiting Hedmark.

Anders Westrum sat on his iron throne overlooking the city he had built. Nesodden was the crown jewel of his empire. When he was young it was a tiny village but now it's towers grew as tall as the sky and thousands lived within it's walls. Slaves were busy paving the roads which would soon carry cars and building the cinemas that would house moving pictures for all to see. Anders loved film. He remembered when he had fallen through the ice all those decades ago.

He had landed in an abandoned mine shaft. Only 10, Anders began to cry. His knees were scraped and bleeding and his arm was bruised. He looked into the darkness. Sniffling, Anders got up and started to walk down the shaft. He soon came to thick iron door with a wheel in it's centre. He tried to turn the wheel but with all his strength he couldn't move it. He picked up a rock and smashed the ice surrounding the wheel. Then with one strong pull he turned the wheel and pulled the door open. Anders entered the old fallout shelter.

Lights flickered on and a projector lit up. Coloured light streamed out of the device and hit the wall opposite. Anders stood transfixed as the image began to move like a painting come to life. Anders sat down on the sofa, not noticing the skeletons that shared his seat. He had been sitting there for days before his father had found him. Anders was inspired by what he had seen. He could not believe how something so beautiful was almost lost.

Many years later he founded the Preservers, those who had knowledge of the past and wished to preserve it. Soon preserving the past was not enough. They wanted the past to become their future. They found guns, machinery, technology and used their new found power to take slaves and kill those who would oppose them. They put the slaves to work in creating their empire, an empire that would bring about the dawning of a new age. The age of steel.

Night 0: Inferno

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LjuWnfFdltc

6th October 2682, 11:32 pm
Heorot, Mead Hall of Hedmark

Jarl Halfdan was resting in his favourite chair beside the fire. A tall man sat down in the chair next to him. He was wearing strange clothing, blue jeans and a leather jacket, and he looked old with straggly grey hair scraped back over his scalp.

"Hello?" croaked the old Jarl.

The man smiled. He pulled a silenced pistol out of his jacket and put a bullet between Jarl Halfdan's eyes. The man waved and 4 others crept out of the shadows. They picked up the dead jarl and forced his limp corpse onto the shield of his tribe and tied him to it.

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/e/ea/Hedmark_våpen.svg/200px-Hedmark_våpen.svg.png

Anders Westrum had come here to give the world a message. No one was safe unless they complied with his dream. He ripped upon the Jarl's shirt and pulled out a dagger. Into Halfdan's chest he carved the words:

Join us or die

Anders got up. He motioned to his men to make a quick exit. Stepping over the corpses of the Jarl's guard they reached the door. To their surprise five heavily armed warriors burst in. Both sides stood motionless. Then the largest warrior brought his axe down hard upon Anders' leg. Anders screamed in agony. He clutched his leg, trying to stop his blood from gushing out of the wound. His soldiers quickly dragged him out of the way and pulled out uzis. Before they could fire, the Vestfold were upon them.

Luna backed away, firing a stream of bullets into the approaching savages. TheWaaagh roared and ran at her, claymore held high above his head. Luna unloaded a clip into TheWaaagh's chainmail but still he came for her. He swung his sword up over his head and slashed off Luna's arm. She cried out in pain before TheWaaagh silenced her by loping off her head. Clutching his chest, TheWaaagh sunk to the ground, blood pouring out between the rings of his chain mail.

Kovath tried to retreat but Crimson was blocking his way. Smirking, Crimson aimed his uzi at Kovath's head but he was knocked backwards by one of the brutes and fell hard onto the stone floor. Kovath jumped on him, beating his head to a bloody pulp. Crimson smiled through broken teeth stained with blood, brought his uzi to Kovath's head and pulled the trigger, blowing Kovath's brains out all over the floor.

The fly of bullets had ignited the wooden mead hall. It had became an inferno. Thick smoke filled the lungs of the remaining combatants, choking them.

"Get me out! Get me out!" screamed Anders through clenched teeth.

One of the Vestfold tried to kick down the door of the mead hall but it wouldn't budge. The roof of Heorot collapsed, burying the Preservers and Vestfold underneath it.

Outside, the black of the night had turned to orange. It's silence turned to screams. People were forced to abandon the homes they had lived in all their lives as fire engulfed the town. Many fled through the city gates, others were trapped in their houses, unable to break free of the flames that constrained them. That was when the heavens opened.

No night actions can be used on Night 0.

Day One: The Hunt Begins

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5yG88QrDvu0

Rain had washed away the fires and destruction of the previous night. Disheveled and frightened, people started to emerge from the rubble. The first thing that struck them was how deserted Hedmark was. Most of its citizens had fled during the fire; others were killed in the blaze. Now only a few remained.

Those who were left had gathered in the courtyard. Wide-eyed and shocked, they surveyed the scene. They realised how little they recognised of the Hedmark of old. So many foreign faces, so many names unlearned.

The Preservers and Vestfold sent to kill the Jarl had snuck out of the ruined hall at daybreak. They were severely battered and wounded from the collapse of Heorot's roof and were in no state to fight their way out through the crowd. The gates had been locked before they could make a quiet exit and the townsfolk were calling for the blood of those responsible for the destruction of their homes. They found themselves brought to the courtyard with their hoods pulled low over their eyes and fear in their hearts for what may happen to them in a foreign town whose people held nothing but hatred for the ones who had killed their jarl and burned down their town.

Anders was determined to stand up straight as blood seeped down his trouser leg and into his shoe. He grimaced but knew he would have to act like a normal citizen if he were to have any hope of making it out of Hedmark alive. Someone spoke from inside the crowd.

"There is no escape for you now, murderers. We will find you and when we do you will beg for death. Jarl Halfdan will not have died in vain. He was a great man, a 100 times the man of the scum who killed him. We will honour him by bringing his killers to justice. We will rebuild Hedmark with their blood."

With that the crowd all spoke at once, shouting accusations and pointing their fingers. The hunt for the Jarl's killers had begun.

You cannot lynch anyone today.

-Who does the Bodyguard share an investigation result with?

-The Drug Dealer role card states that there is an attacked+healed message, but there is no such feedback message in the Feedback Messages. Does the message only show attacked?

-Can the publishing of an article be blocked?

-Can the Mafia choose to kill one of its own members, if the shot member approves?

Hi Guys (and Gals)

As no Spreekiller is possible in this setting, I'd like to propose to use our first night for our possible Lookout to identify all of our protective roles like Doctor (Medical Student), Bodyguard and Armorsmith. I want to make clear that ONLY those roles should visit the chosen target. It is an implicit role claim.
Mafia members that might visit too: Framer/Consort/Drug Dealer
If other scum visits too and gets investigated by an Investigator, they put themselves in a rather tough spot.
The Drug Dealer needs to choose "blocked" or "given armor". But as the "given armor" forces him to take no other message, unless he wants to reveal that there is a Drug Dealer, he will choose "blocked". If there is no Armorsmith, he is put to risked as well, if choosing "blocked".
Blocked claims on following days will at least reveal the consort, unless he chooses not to block.
As the Medical Student/Consort might block, the visited target of choice should be Citizen/Coroner/Veteran/Vigilante. Some Neutrals or certain Mafia may want to take the spot as well.
I think the information that can be gained outweighs the downsides of no lucky heal/protection on a town member.
I suggest a discussion and a vote on this plan. If the majority of players voting wants to enact this plan, I'll hope that NO town member will act against this plan, as all information gained rely on town members acting accordingly. I'd like EVERYBODY to vote -FOR or -AGAINST it.
If somebody wants to volunteer for being the target the Lookout should watch, just say so. If nobody wants, I'll gladly take that place.

tststs, CmG. Gunsmith wasn't a protective role the last time I checked...

I also think it puts Mafia roles like Consort/Drug Dealer/Framer somewhat into a bind, if they ever plan to claim a protective role. If they want to, there's a risk in not visiting. If they visit, they can't hurt more important roles... like framing an investigation target or blocking a detection role.

CmG
April 4th, 2012, 03:54 PM
The problem is the leap of faith those roles have to do. Basicly you give the scum a free night to do the shit they want while ignoring all those protective roles. Then how will you possibly know that there is a lookout in the first place. Then again you could give scum armor.

Also i see no point in a framer choosing the target we want to protect if you say only the protective roles should go for that guy.

If you find a way to garantuee that a town role gets the shit ok. Like 2 Masons claiming alright.

Keep in mind that revealing town roles isnt that bad because we have 2 mafia teams. Their chances rise to hit themselves as well with every claimed Town role who is protected-

Quite a decent idea.
Pro: Lookout knows the protective roles
Can chain protect each other.

But I can't think of a way to exploit this information to find mafia quickly. Unless the Lookout claims early.
Con: Dirty Sleuth, divert protective roles and Lookout, scum protected
Meaning town will lose the luck factor for Night1.

Consort will normally claim Escort.
Might be able to counter Drug Dealer, then again they might claim Armoursmith. Only Sheriff can differentiate the real and the fake. And I'm not sure if we know we have a vest unless we use it and being attacked? Same thing for guns...
Framer sometimes claim Sheriff, other times claim roles without feedback message. Yes, this will work for framer.

Will we know if we receive a REAL or ILLUSIONARY armour or gun?

Phyr
April 4th, 2012, 04:06 PM
Well, I don't think we have more than one Armorsmith. So it would be a max of one vest going to scum, and I think the chances aren't worse than randomizing who get the vest.
If we got a Lookout and the Framer gets investigated and the result get revealed, the Lookout knows that he is Framer or framed to look like one, as everybody sharing the investigation message should have visited the Chosen One. So not visiting poses a threat in itself.

Well, Lookout could claim as early as day 2.

And can you explain to me, why Dirty Sleuth is such a threat to this?

Phyr
April 4th, 2012, 04:13 PM
Even if there is no Lookout, I want to use the threat of the possibility of him being there. If the Drug Dealer chooses to give illusionary Armor and the is an Armorsmith in game, you will get the message for both and at that point, I'd say we can be sure, that there is a Drug Dealer in play.
So the less risky play would be to give a "blocked" pill. If on the other hand the Chosen One has a night action with a feedback message (like Coroner) and doesn't get blocked, he will know too, that there is a Drug Dealer in play.

Nick
April 4th, 2012, 04:16 PM
Keep in mind that revealing town roles isnt that bad because we have 2 mafia teams. Their chances rise to hit themselves as well with every claimed Town role who is protected-

It works both ways. They will hunt down confirmed town, unless the protective roles form a chain, which might be broken by the witch, which can't happen unless mafia found the witch, but then investigative roles can't ask for protection...

I would prefer investigative roles revealing and protective roles protecting them without revealing. Is this not the standard procedure?

Your suggestion will only work after town is weakened, and mafia starts diverting attention to the opposing team.

BorkBot
April 4th, 2012, 04:17 PM
Nobody knows who the Lookout is... and he doesn't need to include it into his last will until he deems it appropriate.

Maybe so.

It guarantees successful kills for both of the mafia teams.

A lookout isn't guaranteed, and if none exists then the actions of all protective roles are completely wasted.

Even if there is one, the lookout can't share this information in any way without also informing scum.

Mafia teams are quite safe to send one of their players to that same player. They can send an actress or a lawyer, who also don't give any feedback messages. The lookout has to reveal them first before anyone can use that information. If he does, that also means the mafia immediately knows who the protective roles/opposite mafia are. Let's say there are 2 protective roles and each mafia sends one of their own to the target, they have much better info than we do. Should the protective roles then protect each other?

Sure, an investigator can check the visitors, but how much does that really help? There's a good chance he will check someone who gets killed the same night, limiting his information. He may have about 50% chance to find a scum role on night 2, but without directing all the protectors there's already an 8 in 20 chance that he'll scan scum. Scum can counter claim too. There might be jesters and executioners taking advantage of this "strategy" and make every bit of info unreliable.

May visit another player at night, but that target will not be notified. If you are lynched, you can choose one player who voted for you to die that night. Jester suicides can be healed.

I think a strategy like this shouldn't be applied until later, if we know for sure that there's a lookout, we need confirmation of people's roles and when we have eliminated possibilities for scum to confuse us.

Framer
May frame a target at night, including himself. A cop (of any kind), an investigator, a consigliere, a lookout and a detective will all receive false information from your target. If a sleuth tries to read the last will of your target he will receive your last will instead. You may choose the information each investigative role receives.

Just found this... Framer's rolecard.

Apparently even Lookout will receive false information. So no go... Borkbot is correct.

I would prefer investigative roles revealing and protective roles protecting them without revealing. Is this not the standard procedure?

Your suggestion will only work after town is weakened, and mafia starts diverting attention to the opposing team.
I agree with this. Don't create opportunities for scum to gather a lot of intel early. It's much preferable to wait a bit and give them intel they already had while giving the town a lot of news.

Oh, the uber framer.

Question:
If a framer frames someone and a lookout checks that person, does the framer himself appear along with any false targets or are all the names randomised?

Is the number of visits correct, or can a lookout also see more/less random names "visiting" his target?

Framer decide. OP. Complain!

Ouch. I skimmed that line, thinking it was an extension of his ability to mess with sleuths. But yeah that's pretty powerful, and I'm quite convinced there's a framer in the setup too, because of the synergy with other roles in the setup (quite sure there's a dirty sleuth and a sleuth as well as the confirmed cop/insane cop and invest).

I approve of a citizen revealing themselves to test the existence of a mason, but I'm not volunteering this time.

Was that a stealth claim McPwnage?

I thought of doing it the other way round.... Why should Lookout reveal all the protective roles? I'd prefer to do it the other way round, if somebody claims a protective role and didn't visit, Lookout can step in call him out. And if somebody that visited him, doesn't claim a protective role, then he is bad news too. This information is only trustworthy, if the target wasn't framed. But isn't this somewhat forcing Framer on the target?
I think that the Lookout will get the opportunity to see, if the information he got are reliable. And we still get the feedback messages like blocked and armor given, that we can work with.
I think it would be best for one Citizen to claim (only if and after the plan got accepted), and a Mason visits him too. So we might end up with a Mason with vest... doesn't sound too bad imo.
And if the protection was spread, it could also prevent the Mafia from killing each other (each mafia has a 5/17 chance to hit scum). And as there are no feedback messages on heals, we get little information we can work with.

I agree with BorkBot and Nick. I don't agree with Phyr's plan for the reasons listed, and also because of the roles that can alter last wills (i.e. lawyer, framer) that a lookout would most likely put their info into before revealing. This would just give the two mafia factions more information about town protective roles and "fake protective roles" from the opposing mafia faction. Although Phyr does raise good points in post 40. However, I feel that at this point, the mafia factions receive the most benefit from knowing what conditions affected the poor citizen during the night because they know 3 peoples confirmed roles at the moment and all this plan does is to give them an edge to putting together all the pieces of the puzzle before town has a chance to get off to a good start.

Also, I believe CmG to be scummy because he put me on his CHECK ASAP list. Since I'm a new player, the host isn't going to waste an exciting mafia/neutral/power role on me in case I afk and forget about the game. He said he put players in green who talk a lot. Why isn't Phyr's name on that list? He has talked a lot, and his plan to me seems obviously the most beneficial to one of the mafia factions (or a neutral). CmG's inclusion of himself on the CHECK ASAP list indicates to me that he is not afraid of being checked -> godfather or actress if he is scum and hopes to be investigated. I thought it was interesting to note that CmG instantly agreed with Phyr's plan (and is the only person to have done so thus far).

Okay, again...

Con:
-No lucky heal on a Town member
-Framer might feed false information, that can backfire on town, if Lookout trusts his information too easily
Before he trust his information, he might have to wait for hard proof. Graveyard information or investigation results may help
-The Doc doesn't know if he is Medical Student or Doc, if the Chosen One gets roleblocked.
-Dirty Sleuth can read last wills - If Lookout chooses to write his night 1 results into his last will, Mafia might have access to it, before the rest of the town does
I suggest not writing the result into his last will, as this kind of information is highly sensitive

Pro
-No lucky heal on scum
-Framer is likely to target the Chosen One: less likely for investigative roles to hit a framed target
-Chance of making out certain Mafia roles. Consort/Drug Dealer/Framer

I'd rather have a Lookout result with many player in the feedback message, than one without any.

McJesus

I don't see it working, we don't know if we have a medical student so the consort is going to come in and make a potential doctor think he is a medical student. Also it gives mafia free reign over kills with no chance of stopping him.

Phyr
April 4th, 2012, 05:12 PM
I have a harder time with the downside of Docs not knowing if they are Med Students or the real deal, than the reasons you listed. I don't expect this to pay off first thing day 2. It might come in handy in the long run.
If a consort goes blocking the Chosen One, we have another "wasted" Mafia action and we will know the next night, if there was a consort in there based on the number of blocked claims. Med Students have a 50/50 chances of needing a second night anyway to know for sure, if they are Doc or not.

I stand in firm negation of this plan. Unless there is an element of WIFOM in this. If the town WIFOMs protection on someone, but doesn't protect that person (or does) then that person is protected regardless of heals or armor real or imagined. Unfortunately, Phyr's plan does not take into effect WIFOM and so I strongly negate the plan.

Also, if there's a lookout and he outs himself, then a dirty sleuth could check the lookout and know who is a doctor or other protection role. I do not condone that.

Why does everybody say, that the lookout has to write his result in his last will? This is b***shit - No information in last will about that night... If he dies, he takes it to the grave. And WIFOM would break it... the upside of the information, if not destroyed by framing (but that should be rather obvious after some more information gathering), that is is a reliable "protective role" claim. If the Lookout gets information into his hands, that prove them of being something different, they would be suspicious and inspected a little closer.

Well for one thing, a PR that doesn't write down his results in either his last will or in day chat is nearly as bad a citizen in terms of information. The information needs to get out to us so that we can use it to determine validity of claims and accusations.

I don't say that the Lookout shouldn't write ANY of his results in his last will EVER. Just this first night... I think we all agree that this information is too sensitive to take the risk of it falling into Mafia's hands via a Dirty Sleuth. It is only lost if the Lookout dies. But guess what, we can protect him, if he chooses to reveal. And if he reveals he should have information that proves him as Lookout, as there is no Mafia role that gathers information the way the Lookout does.

Can give out one piece of armour at night. The target will be informed that they have received armour the following day. Armour protects the user from one attack upon use, but does not expire until used. You cannot target yourself.

Please clarify:
Say I receive armour and use it. Does the armour stay on me until I get attacked (even if its 2 nights later) or is it normal that it gives +1 to life (like a doc heal) for that night only (regardless of being attacked or not).

Other questions:
Does a converted journalist (to masons) retain his abilities?

How does framing effect detective and lookout results specifically?

This list only states my preferences. They cant frame them all. If the mafia really needs help like this, then this game will be a breeze. We don´t know if there is a framer(s). An Insane cop or normal cop setup is annoying enough. Adding a framer like that seems like overkill and a poor choice out of balancing.

Also i expect from Kromos non meta stuff in this setup out of actual reasons.

Btw Phyr is a new player that is his first real game evar on the boards. I am not buddying with him dont get to early conclusions who are utterly wrong.

The ONLY 2 problems I see, is that the mafia has a much better chance of hitting town than scum, while there is no protection spread over the players.
And the Docs don't know if they are Docs or Med Students, if the Chosen One gets blocked.

The Lookout not giving any info on night 1, if he dies isn't really my concern. Chances are high he will see no or one visitation without any claims in day chat to pin it to a role.
If he gets bogus results he can write that into his last will, if he choses to do so. And we will know, that all other investigation results on night 1 are reliable.

Does a converted journalist (to masons) retain his abilities?

19) Will the Journalist retain his special ability, if recruited?
Yes, the journalist can still interview people if recruited by masons. He will be shown to be a Journalist / Mason in the graveyard.

How does framing effect detective and lookout results specifically?
Framer
May frame a target at night, including yourself. A cop (of any kind), an investigator, a consigliere, a lookout and a detective will all receive false information from your target. If a sleuth tries to read the last will of your target he will receive your last will instead. You may choose the information each investigative role receives.

So if Framer chooses the information every investigative role get (even Investigator and Consigliere can get different results). Framer is basically invisible for a Lookout, as he feeds him all the targets he want - that may be none too. And the Framer also chooses the target the Detective will see his target visit - this may be none as well.

Where does the lawyers abilities fall on the order of operations?

1 Journalist Interview
2 Put on vest
3 Veteran goes on alert
4 Witching
5 Blocking
6 Lookout/Detective (Can see blocks/witching, but can also be affected by those actions)
7 Jester Visitation
8 Actress chooses role to act as
9 Give Guns/Armour
10 Framing
11 Mason recruit
12 Cop / Insane Cop / Investigator / Consigliere / Coroner / Sleuth / Dirty Sleuth
13 Drug Dealer
14 Blackmailer
15 Journalist publishes article
16 Bodyguard (+1 to life bar)
17 Kills (-1 to life bar)
18 Heals (+1 to life bar)
19 Janitor Cleans / Lawyer changes last will

The armor question is most likely one night only, but it really needs to be clarified.

Another question:
-If a (Insane) Cop dies, will we know which of the two he was?

Also one big reason I am against is if there isn't a lookout it is a giant waste of time and energy. Why does Phyr assume there is one?

It seems you just skimmed through the posts. :(
In the Pros and Cons post, I didn't add anything that requires a Lookout to be in game, it just works on the possibility of him being there. It's to draw in Mafia roles like Drug Dealer, Consort and Framer. If there isn't a Lookout we won't have the chances to see if there is a Framer in play, but Consort and Drug Dealer can be revealed. And as I said, chances are high, that the Chosen One will be framed, to negate the risk of a Lookout getting loads of valuable information. Nobody will check or inspect the Chosen One, so the night 1 investigation result are more reliable.

@DramaLlama Well, if you had read the setup properly, you wouldn't have had to ask half of your questions. So I took the liberty to show you those, that are clear. Takes of some work for the GM.

Yes, my sc2 account is named Kaeru. I'm sorry if this seems shady that I did not name my forum mafia account the same name as my sc2 mafia account name. I didn't think it would really matter at the time. I would be happy to answer any more questions or jump through any more hoops if it would cause you all to accept that I am simply a new member to this forum. Honestly, some people must get a kick out of making other people feel bad via the internet. All I can say is please believe me, and I feel really bad that people are doubting me.

Not to pull Phyr into this, but if he is new, too, why aren't people accusing him of being a smurf? Also if he is a new dude, too, then maybe he is just trying to be talkative. I know I'm trying to be talkative here because I thought that's what we're supposed to do in forum mafia games and not lurk. I'm trying to contribute and things out of respect for the host. Can't you please give new people the benefit of the doubt?

PS, please let me know if there is a different place where I should be posting this so as not to clutter up the game thread.

This only works if you know what other people on this forum look like and sound like in real life, but if anyone (maybe Kromos, the moderator if he has a chance) wants to call me or videochat me to confirm that I am not masquerading as someone else would that work?

Heart to heart time:
Honestly this game of forum mafia has made me so bipolar these past 3 days. First I was excited I got in, then I was sad b/c I thought I was out, then I realized it was a misunderstanding and felt better, then I was in for real! and then people accused me of being a smurf and didn't believe me and it's just really hard for me to handle all these mood swings. Maybe forum mafia isn't for me? Maybe this specific forum just isn't for me. I fully plan on playing and participating to the best of my abilities through the remainder of this game, and a lot of you seem really nice, but the few who are making me so sad by doubting me have honestly just made my life miserable these past few days. I broke down and started crying in the library twice so far. Maybe I'm just too immature to play this game here (I don't know what the average age is here, but I would posit that I'm below it at least by a few years). I take things seriously, maybe too seriously sometimes, and all I can do is say that I would never cheat. I also would have a very poor opinion of anyone who tries to say things to manipulate peoples emotions to gain an advantage in this game, if that's what CmG is doing.

Well, it seems despite all my attempts, people don't grow fond of my idea. :(
I guess I need to present and formulate my ideas better next time, because I still think the benefits outweigh the drawbacks (even without a Lookout).

On Sumikoko's citizen claim:
I think she should get a WIFOM heal/armor and a Mason visitation.

Next day:
1) If Sumikoko claims not recruited:
a) Somebody claims Mason, that tried to recruit her, but failed
-> We should think about lynching her. Though, there is the possibility of Jester on both sides, Sumikoko and the claimed Mason. If we lynch her and she flips Citizen, we should let Vigilante shoot the claimed Mason, as the only one I can think of claiming that is a Jester. If she flips non-Citizen/Journalist, the claimed Mason gets a WIFOM heal/armor and another citizen should claim. Rinse and repeat.
b) Nobody claims Mason
-> She may be anything, but Citizen is the most likely imo. If not Citizen, it would be a gambit on no Mason being in game. That risk should be worth the reward.

2) If Sumikoko claims recruited:
-> another low priority WIFOM heal/armor and another citizen should claim, if the Masons wish it to be that way. Rinse and repeat.

If I'm missing something here, pls tell me so.

Sooooo as far as we can see, this is just guessing and using previous m-fm experiences. we won't not even going to try to figure out who is scum at this point. we won't be able to scum hunt srsly until day 2. But we suppose doing this does have its merit. Putting pressure on players and reading their reaction is one of the best scum hunting techniques.

As for the newer players, we don't see them as being particularly scummy. Because they are new, we won't have much insight on them until later in the game. Clementine is trying to contribute to the town's discussion but CmG is having a hard on for him. Phyr is proposing a plan that will probably end in disaster. Either way, we don't see them as scum, yet.

Well, It's my honest opinion when I say, I think it's a short sighted play to claim Citizen to be recruited by the Mason as Town PR on the first day, when there is no confirmed Mason. You gain the WIFOM protection of a Citizen claim, but we lose the possibility of getting information on the hidden town roles. And I think it should be the masons' choice, who they want to give WIFOM protection, but we'll need a "confirmed" Mason first for this.

Why shouldn't he have a better target? A honest Citizen claim and he has an awesome target. And we have awesome info next day.
The conclusion, that you are a PR, if not recruited, fails to me. It's rather the other way round. By stating this you give scum a level of protection that shouldn't need to be there. They can hide in the shadow of a bad play.
If you are not a Citizen/Journalist, you will claim not recruited tomorrow, as claiming recruited, is a risky gambit. You will need to find other players that follow along with that. And those can be both Mafia and TPR...
While I think that WIFOM is a useful thing, there are moments where not using it is simply better. I think of this as such a moment.
They most problematic thing for doing this truthfully is the Jester claiming Citizen to be masoned. For everybody else we will have either the info we got a Manson in play (and maybe a lynched scum, if they try a mason gambit) or Scum trying a Mason gambit, that will easily be reveal at a later stage, or scum hiding behind the risk of a Manson being in play, when there actually isn't.

tl;dr: If everybody can WIFOM Citizen to be masoned, there is NO information to be gained, because everybody can do it and just hide behind a Town PR WIFOM.

This too, only works to its full potential, if town has a clear position on this. But as town doesn't seem to reach a consensus on this kind of thing so early into the game, it can't be leveraged. I think I should stop putting so much hope into town working in unison right of the bat. :$
I don't want to lecture you, but I just seem to reach different conclusions, when weighting the pros and cons, and wanted to express this.

Tally for the Lookout plan:
FOR(2): Phyr, CmG
AGAINST(5): BorkBot, clementine, McPwnage, Dust, GriM-DeMoN

I will maybe reformulate the plan and address the concerns in a new post by playing through different scenarios. I admit there are scenarios, where the outcome is worse by following through. But those come with a risk for the Mafia as well.

-AGAINST

Looked like a good idea initially but I don't see something like that working out. Mainly due to how much the framer and dirty sleuth could do in the situation, seeing as at least one of them will probably be in the game with the 5 random mafia.

Like Rihfok suggested I would quite like a summary of the events, it all looked a little confusing and at the moment I can't be bothered to read through earlier posts too heavily.

-Will the beginning of day RP mention, how many killers killed a player and who it was, that killed him (See coroner killers list)? Will some be indistinguishable from each other, or do all of those need the coroner to be available to town?

O HAI GUYZ.

I was the former Drama Llama Ding Dong, but now I'm just lonely Escaho.

To Mafia: I am the Witch, so don't kill me yet.
To Town: I am da Lookout, so I'll be watching out for your asses.
To the Serial Killer: I am actually a Jester, so I can win with yo ass. Just don't vote for me, k?

Also, I'm totally -AGAINST that plan yo, because I'm really the Lookout and a Framer gonna mess dat whole thing up.

In addition, there ain't no Mason Leader in da Town Hidden Role list, so I don't know why u guyz talkin' 'bout there bein' one. Especially because that's who I really am.

My, my, I think it's high time I polish my chainsaw blades before it gouges into someone's neck... For tradition's sake.

Mon Petit Chou, yes, I have claimed citizen as PR before. As the Mason Leader is unlikely to have a better target tonight, however, why not try recruiting me? If it fails, the Mason Leader will know I'm a PR. (Because if I were scum, it would be dangerous for me to dare the Mason to visit me, as even if I learn his name, when he ends up in the graveyard, the first suspicions cast will be on me.) And if it succeeds, then all the better, correct? Kufufu.

Mi Amor, it's just that I've got to take everything into account. It's quite possible that there's no mason in the setup. It's better to be thorough and make people write out a long paragraph than be lax and possibly screw it all up.

Escaho, what's your game? Why do you claim 4 different roles? Are you trying to act like I did in M-FM2?

Dramallama wasn't scummy (based on perfunctory notes). You are.

Having read through quite a bit of the day chat I'd say that Phyr looks rather scummy.

This is mainly because it looks like he's trying to be overly helpful to town with his whole lookout plan, which I'm sure most people would of realised was clearly flawed from the beginning. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he was the framer/dirty sleuth, or at least had one on his team.

Though then again he does look like the type to do things like that even if he was town, judging by the amount of questions he has been asking in the FAQ he seems like he would want to try out new plans etc.

Maybe someone should check him out if there's no other targets that you immediately suspect.

Massive wall of text incoming.
I rearranged my thoughts on this, as people seemed to have skimmed through the day. I hope this presentation will help you understand my point of view.
This is what I propose.

Reiteration of the planned night actions:
-The Lookout, if present, watches the Chosen One.
-The Chosen One is a Citizen (no, not even Journalist), who wants so be masoned. Sumikoko shouldn't be the Chosen One, as she mentioned that it would be possible, that she WIFOMs citizen as a Power Role that may or may not be town. Therefor I suggest taking somebody else, as giving her the option to chose, if she wants to be the Chosen One, could lead to problems should she decline. The declining in itself could be WIFOM, but as a town PR she wouldn't have a choice, if we want this to work.
-All and only protective town roles (Doctor/Medical Students/Bodyguard/Armorsmith) visit the Chosen One.
-The Mason, if present, visits the Chosen One.

As the Framer seems to be the concern most often mentioned, here the results broken down in cases...

Lookout Plan
1. There is a Lookout in game (lucky us)

1.1 The Chosen One doesn't get framed
The Lookout got a list of players that are protective town roles or scum. He doesn't know that for sure as the Chosen One might have been framed. He will not leave the information he received in his last will. If he is pretty sure that the information he got of this are likely accurate (i.e. by Graveyard information/proven Investigation results/status and role claims(blocked,Mason)), he should claim Lookout (prove himself by information gathered the following nights) and get himself protected. Still no information about night 1 in his last will. The Lookout can then divide the players into groups and assign each group to a target or group of targets to be protected (there should be more groups then protective roles - more WIFOM heals). Overprotection prevented and a wider spread of protection is made possible. And he knows a list of players that claim to be a protective power role (besides the Mason, that will claim). This is the biggest gain imo, as he can call people out if their claim doesn't fit the night 1 information. Like an investigation message showing Doc and co on somebody that didn't visit the Chosen One (*cough* Framer *cough) (super awesome case)
1.2 The Chosen One gets framed and Lookout catches on to it
If the information floating around discredit the night information gained, he may add it into his last will with a comment that the chosen one got framed. That will make sure, that other investigative roles results for night 1 are more credible (Lookout's last will may have been lawyered). (made the Framer visit a target that no other investigative role visited)
1.3 The Chosen One gets framed and Lookout doesn't get it
If the Framer gets lucky on some targets given and the Lookout deems the night 1 information credible, it could easily result in a mislynch, taking away credibility of the lookout itself. (worst of all possibilities)

2. There is no Lookout in game

1.1 The Chosen One doesn't get framed
There is nothing gained in this case. Rather the opposite as investigation results of this night tend to be more credible, so you are more inclined to believe false information, if your target was framed. (minor drawbacks)
1.2 The Chosen One gets framed
We will never know it, but it made the night 1 investigation results correct, as the Framer chose to shut down the information of a non-existent Lookout. (positive outcome)

So we only got one real downside and that's only the case, if Framer gets really lucky or the Lookout is jumping the gun.

Drawbacks
-No spread of protection. As there are more town than scum to be hit by Mafia (5/17 chance), this hits town harder than scum. (minor drawback)
-Doctors gain no information about them being Doctor or Medical Student, if the Chosen One claims to be roleblocked. (major drawback)

(Un-)Mentioned concerns:

But I can't think of a way to exploit this information to find mafia quickly. Unless the Lookout claims early.
Con: Dirty Sleuth, divert protective roles and Lookout, scum protected
Meaning town will lose the luck factor for Night1.
This is more of a long run plan, if a Lookout is present. If not it hopefully will draw in Mafia roles like Framer/Drug Dealer/Consort on a Citizen. (Drug Dealer and Consort have it's downsides as well - see Doc/Med Student)
I don't get the con argument. The Dirty Sleuth can only read last wills and won't find anything on night 1. I don't see how he can divert Lookout and protect scum (claiming to be the Chosen One as scum, is quite risky as you will die 100%, if there is a Mason in game). The chance of a lucky heal goes down I admit that, but if the mafia kill each other... wouldn't that be awesome as well?

It guarantees successful kills for both of the mafia teams.

A lookout isn't guaranteed, and if none exists then the actions of all protective roles are completely wasted.
This much is truth. This night they can kill pretty guaranteed (inb4 Pro Town Witch :>), but they don't have too much information to work with to single out important targets. So now would be the best time.

There might be jesters and executioners taking advantage of this "strategy" and make every bit of info unreliable.
Here is the important difference. The Lookout won't reveal the visitors, the Mafia will gain no intel whatsoever. But he can step in, if somebody claims something that doesn't fit his information (after he made sure, the Chosen One wasn't framed). So a Actress, Jester or a Lawyer will have a problem, if the Lookout knows his information can be trusted and they claim something sharing their investigation message, as they shouldn't have visited the Chosen One (Mason should be (dis-)proven by Day 2 at the latest). I think we agree, that the Lookout publishing his information is a really bad move, as they can't protect themselves and investigative roles at the same time.

I think a strategy like this shouldn't be applied until later, if we know for sure that there's a lookout, we need confirmation of people's roles and when we have eliminated possibilities for scum to confuse us.
Here I disagree, too. Later in the game too many roles worth protecting will be revealed, so we can't have the luxury of sending all protective roles to one player. It only works in the beginning.

I don't see it working, we don't know if we have a medical student so the consort is going to come in and make a potential doctor think he is a medical student. Also it gives mafia free reign over kills with no chance of stopping him.
These are valid concerns and mentioned in the drawbacks.

I hope you realize that adding WIFOM to this, breaks down the plan completely, as even if we have a Lookout and the Chosen One isn't framed, the information gained won't be reliable, and thus nil. It isn't the goal to protect the Chosen One. The goal is to bind the Framer and/or other Mafia roles to him, making investigation results more reliable. And if we have a Lookout and the Framer doesn't feed him false information, we'll have won big time. Again no information about that in last will until it is proven to be false.

Well for one thing, a PR that doesn't write down his results in either his last will or in day chat is nearly as bad a citizen in terms of information. The information needs to get out to us so that we can use it to determine validity of claims and accusations.
You wouldn't want to reveal that information, before you can pin down scum with it. They are less likely to slip up, if they can use that information. And publishing fake/framer information doesn't help either unless you know it is fake.

Looked like a good idea initially but I don't see something like that working out. Mainly due to how much the framer and dirty sleuth could do in the situation, seeing as at least one of them will probably be in the game with the 5 random mafia.

Err, again... Dirty Sleuth isn't a problem in the least and the Framer has it's up- and downsides, but rather than gaining next to no information (if nobody visited his target), I'd prefer to have either a fuckload of information or knowing that the other results of investigative roles hold true for sure (that is information, too).

-Dirty Sleuth is no concern. If there is no Lookout, he can't read his last will. If there is, he will want to find him, but the information he wants won't be in there.
-Witched and roleblocked claims, have to be taken into account. But i think it won't be too many 1-2 non-Chosen One max. And if the Chosen One wasn't roleblocked at all, the Docs get the information they wanted... awesome. (one drawback down)
-You can gain information too by drawing in Drug Dealer and Consort, as they have feedback messages.

On this note:
If Framer and Dirty Sleuth is still a concern for you, please, explain me why you think so. I don't get it.

The Mason follow up on the next day
1. The Chosen One claims not recruited

1.1 Somebody claims Mason and calls the Chosen One out as scum

1.1.1 The Chosen One is Jester
Lynch the Chosen One. This is the worst case as we might loose a TPR to Jester grief (Jester chooses target).
The Mason claimer should be WIFOM protected and another Citizen claim should step up. Repeat until we have a second Mason claim, with the first Mason confirming it.
-> Two claimed Masons
1.1.2 The Chosen One is other Neutral/Mafia
Lynch the Chosen One. Well, he was scum. Good for us to see him dead.
The Mason claimer should be WIFOM protected and another Citizen claim should step up. Repeat until we have a second Mason claim, with the first Mason confirming it.
-> Two claimed Masons
1.1.3 The Chosen One is Citizen
Lynch the Chosen One. The Mason claimer obviously wasn't Mason and is free to get shot at night, the first given ->Gunsmith gun should be used for this (Vigilante may shoot him too, but can wait another night). Now we know, that there is no Mason in game.

1.2 Nobody claims Mason
The Chosen One is either Citizen or scum, all kind of protection should be dropped of him.

2. The Chosen One claims recruited and has to claim his Mason buddy

2.1 He can't name his Mason buddy, or the one called out denies being Mason
The Chosen One should be lynched/shot as he is scum (see 1.1.3 Mason claimer). We should be careful about lynching because of Jester and take armor into account, when shooting him. Now we know too, there is no Mason in game.
2.2 The Mason buddy confirms
-> Two claimed Masons

Summary of cases:
The only case, where we actually might loose something, is when the Chosen One is Jester. In every other case we get scum or don't loose anything (well, to be honest, giving armor to a confirmed non-TPR might be considered a loss too). We can confirm or deny the existence of a Mason, if he wasn't witched or blocked. But if that happend to him, he should try again the next night, so we fall back into the scheme.

Two claimed Masons
One of the Masons develops a code and uses their night chat to explain it to the other Mason. The other Mason solves it the next day. If he can solve it, the Masons either are really Masons or Mafia.
If they are Mafia it might suffice to check one of them (inb4 Godfather) or wait for one of them to die and two Mafia are taken out. This is even stronger considering, that each Mafia team only has 3 members. I doubt they would take that risk.
If one of them dies and flips Mason he can confirm the other one as Mason that way. If he flips Neutral/Mafia we can lynch the other one as well. If he gets cleaned, we will have to wait for investigation results on the cleaned body or the remaining Mason claimer.

Gunsmith guns
I think we should direct the usage of guns given by Gunsmith. We can confirm another power role and make sure that the gun doesn't remain in the wrong hands, if it was given to bad guys. If the gun wasn't used and nobody claimed witched, the Gunsmith may choose to claim, in order to call out the scum, that got his gun (role blocks are to be considered). It is essential, that we know, that no witch is in play. Otherwise the Gunsmith can be forced to give guns to scum.
If somebody claimed witched, we should try to direct them nonetheless, in case of only the night 1 gun going to scum. And it still may confirm a power role (but beware of Fabricator).

Against

In short, potential loss is greater than gain. You are pushing this too hard to be scum hunting.

I'm for Mason recruiting Sumikoko. Nothing else. If it fails, we'll shoot Sumikoko tomorrow. No Ghost so we are safe. Sumikoko, if you are the Jester, do take back your claim now. If recruitment is successful, without revealing the original Mason, another citizen can reveal tomorrow. Sheriff or investigator can check the Masons on Night2 or Night3 to confirm. If they lie, kill all the Mason claimers. This is foolproof. Your lookout can be countered.

I'm refuse to give further ideas to the mafia on the counter strategy.

Others should state their stand before the night ends. Good night.

See you tomorrow if I survive.

I'm against the plan. Why? Here's how it looks.

Let's say we have the chosen one (who should be citizen) and Mason recruits him. On the plus side, the town will have 2 Masons who know each other, and Lookout will know the names of possible protective roles. On the bad side, both Mafia groups will probably kill someone else. Any other town role will be vulnerable at night.

I'll be straight here: if your-so called Lookout dies at first night, Phyr's whole plan will be completely screwed. Phyr even mentioned two drawbacks to us. Because of those two drawbacks (minor and major) I strongly recommend not to follow this plan. Well, if Sumi is really a citizen, then the only ones who should visit her are Doctor, Mason, and hidden lookout. Any other roles should be focused on protecting more trustworthy guys (like Escaho, who claimed himself Sheriff). Or myself.

Like someone said, we don't exactly gain much from the whole ordeal. A dirty Sleuth or Framer can easily set themselves up in a nice situation, and, once more, so many people are against, investigative roles and protective roles probably won't go through with it, making any mafia role that goes unnoticed look like investigative, given the so few that visited.

Escaho ifs clearly an actress.

Yes, I like to really get into my role, whether it be playing a Doctor performing healing operations, a Bodyguard protecting a civil servant, a Consort role-blocking an individual, or even a Veteran intending to shoot all baddies who come my way.

I like to go for that whole "mysterious" vibe everyone's been talking about lately.

Wait, hang on. Did Phyr claim? Where?

Phyr claimed NOT lookout. He also implicitly claimed citizen by volunteering to be the chosen one for his plan if nobody else volunteered. By saying the chosen one should be a citizen/journalist, that implies that Phyr is a citizen or doesn't mind being roleblocked if his plan is to work.

clementine
April 5th, 2012, 02:57 PM
Scratch that. In his original plan post, Phyr said the chosen one should be: "Citizen/Coroner/Veteran/Vigilante. Some Neutrals or certain Mafia may want to take the spot as well."

Therefore Phyr claims one of those roles... which really doesn't narrow things down at all.... :[

Hey, I'll gladly vote -FOR Phyr's idea if I get to be the Chosen One.

After all, I am definitely either Citizen/Coroner/Veteran/Vigilante, Neutral, or Mafia.

Night One: An Uneasy Rest

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DEMDqHpbXuA

Some villagers tried to make light of the situation but most kept the frivolities to a minimum. They wouldn't rest easy until the heads of the Jarl's killers were mounted on spikes and displayed for Hedmark's enemies to see. Throughout the day they discussed how best to weed out the murderers amongst them. Plans were formulated and discarded, little of worth was learnt from today.

An old man sat a short distance away from the crowd, furiously scribbling into a book, recording all that had been said. He knew they were there, spreading lies and misinformation. If only he could make sense of their words, he would be able to find them.

As the sky grew dark someone dressed in a guard's uniform dismissed the crowd, telling them they would reconvene the next day. The villagers felt uneasy. Why would the guard be so quick to dismiss them when he would be letting the killers have free reign over the town during the night? They knew they would not sleep tonight.

With their homes destroyed most slept outside beneath the pale moon and the stars. They heard strange noises that night, shadows flitted out of the corners of their eyes. Men gripped daggers close to their chests, ready to strike at any sign of movement. If the killers came for them they would not go down without a fight...

The night is 24 hours long.

Day Two: The Beginning of Many

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1NYKKkLXUc&list=PLD958FAD521D8D959

Escaho squeezed himself through a shattered doorway and into the house. He crept across the charred floorboards taking care not to tread on anything that might alert the house's inhabitants to his presence. He looked all over but couldn't find what he was searching for. He decided to check the basement, thinking the occupants of the house might have hidden it there. Being careful to not make a sound he slowly made his way down the stone steps and into a large room lit only by a solitary candle on the wall.

Escaho stopped and listened. Only silence greeted him. Across the room, Escaho spied his prize. A small chest rested on top of a rickety old table. Escaho approached it with greedy eyes, this was what he lived for: to learn the dark secrets people would only tell once the inhibitions of life had left them. When he read he felt the dead speak to him.

He pried open the chest, giddy with anticipation. Sure enough the crisp parchment of a last will and testament lay inside. Escaho suddenly felt very cold. Liquid trickled down the back of his neck as he slumped forward onto the table. The table collapsed under him and Escaho was left sprawled on the floor. Blood seeped across the stone, turning the last will red with his blood. Escaho reached up behind him and felt the shaft of an arrow sticking out of the back of his head. As his vision faded, Escaho thought to himself, at least I died doing what I loved...

Meanwhile McPwnage slept snug in his bedroll under the stars and the moon. He dreamily gazed up at the great white orb, wondering what it would be like to walk on the moon's surface. He imagined he, McPwnage of Hedmark, was an astronaut from the legends of old. He felt soft moonrock between his toes and his hair waved about his face in the moon's low gravity.

A hand gently cupped his head and slashed a dagger across his throat. McPwnage gurgled as blood sprayed from his neck. He clutched at his throat and gasped for air, unable to breath in the vacuum of space.

"Shush" said the man. "Go to sleep."

He cradled McPwnage in his arms while his legs spasmed. Eventually McPwnage became still and closed his frightened eyes. He was left there in his bedroll. An innocent citizen of Hedmark, he would now live his dream in the afterlife.

The villagers had been unprepared for what they had found that morning. The night of the Great Fire had been terrifying but none had felt the fear they were feeling now. Two of their number lay dead, murdered by the scum that walked amongst them. Some doubted their resolve. Was revenge really worth the deaths of Escaho and McPwnage?

Others promised themselves that they would fight harder than ever. With renewed zeal they returned to the courtyard to meet their friends' killers face to face. Which of the eyes that stared back at them belonged to a murderer?

Article 2:

Letter to the Editor:

Massive wall of text incoming.
I have a proposition for you, which I hope you do not simply skim through. I hope this presentation will help us form a potential partnership.

I claim invest/consig. This much is truth. At this point, I will not share further information on my alignment. It is up to you whether you believe my role claim and it is up to you to pass judgment on my alignment. You are either journalist or corrupt journalist. There are many possible pairings of our own possible alignments, but I urge you to hear me out and consider a potential alliance between the two of us. Here is a list on how things work out, with the possible results broken down in cases...

1.You are journalist
This message in its entirety is published to the town tomorrow, because you cannot edit this article. You, alone, will know who has just claimed an investigative role, and will be able to watch me closely to determine whether I am likely to be investigator or consigliere.

To all of the town: I will be including a sentence from this letter in my last will tonight. If I do not make it to Day 2, this journalist/corrupt journalist will know if there is a lawyer/framer on the opposing mafia team. If I am mafia, my teammates will also know, but it suits our purposes to get info about the other teams roles out to the town without having to reveal ourselves.

1.1 I am investigator

We are both town. You know the identity of the investigator. I do not know your identity, but you know mine and can back up accusations I make during the day and vouch for my identity if, and when I claim my role. It is your responsibility to monitor my actions to determine that I am town aligned. If you become a mason, please alert the masons of my claim. This is the biggest gain imo, as we can set up a network of confirmed town roles. (super awesome case)

1.2 I am consigliere
We are on opposing teams, and cannot win together. You know mafia has a consig, and you know who I am. I do not know your identity, so I cannot kill you. You can watch my actions and decide if I am town or mafia. If the entirety of this message gets printed tomorrow, we will know there is a town-sided journalist that could not edit this article. If I investigate a journalist/corrupt journalist, we will consider you confirmed town (mafia would win with a corrupt journalist so no reason not to reveal to us). (not too bad for you, bad for me but I will just fake town like a pro)

2. You are corrupt journalist
There are two options: Leave this message as it is (if you think I am towns investigator) to fake journalist or edit this message down to the clean message below to reveal that there is a corrupt journalist in the game. There is a low level of risk involved for you because remember I do not know your identity. You need to decide how much risk you are comfortable with.

2.1 I am investigator
We are on opposing teams and cannot win together. You know the identity of the town investigator. You have the power to reveal me to the mafia later to fulfill your roles objective of ensuring the Hedmark are dead.

2.1.a. You decide to publish this full message
This indicates that you are a journalist. If I find a journalist/corrupt journalist in my investigation results, I will believe you are journalist and not a corrupt journalist. (good for you)

2.1.b. You edit this message to only the Clean Message below
This tells me that that there is a corrupt journalist in this game. I will not know your identity. Mafia will not know that there is a corrupt journalist in the game, but I will. This is not good for you because I will know the role of one of the unconfirmed neutrals. If I find a journalist/corrupt journalist in my investigative results, I will suspect you of being a corrupt journalist. However, I would still have to find you first. (minor drawbacks for you)

2.2 I am consigliere
We win together, and you are aligned with one of the mafia factions, turning us into a 4-person team. I have developed a code for us to use (only can be used if you erase most of this message) to communicate. You can use this code to communicate your identity to me once you trust me.

2.1.a. You decide to publish the message in its entirety
This indicates you are a journalist OR a corrupt journalist who does not wish to align yourself with mafia. If I find a journalist/corrupt journalist in my investigative results, we will know you are confirmed town or that you rejected our alliance. (bad for you if we find you)

2.1.b. You edit this message to only the Clean Message below
We win together and you are allied with 3 members of the mafia. You know my identity, but we do not know yours unless you decide to reveal. Feel free to ask me to write another article via which I can securely transmit to you the bulk of our team strategy/plans/codes and include you as part of our team. This is a powerful alliance because nobody thinks the mafia have four members on a team. This expands our abilities and fully utilizes the corrupt journalist role. I can be our liason and our main means of communication will be via the codes below. We should use two different styles of codes to communicate so people wont think we are communicating with each other. Use these as little as possible.

These are the codes I will use to communicate with you:

-Prime Number Code:

The letters A-Z are represented by the first twenty-six prime numbers. To form words, I will multiply the corresponding numbers for each letter to form a larger number in groups of three letters or less. This number is deciphered by finding its prime factorization and unscrambling the letters in each word. Spaces or mid-word breaks will be marked by the symbol |. I will space out the letters in pairs of ones or twos to appear like a simple cipher code. I have included a list of the first 26 prime numbers for your reference and some quick examples of what this code looks like:

(Prime Number|Letter)
(2|A)(3|B)(5|C)(7|D)(11|E)(13|F)(17|G)(19|H)(23|I) (29|J)(31|K)(37|L)(41|M)(43|N)(47|O)(53|P)(59|Q)(6 1|R)(67|S)(71|T)(73|U)(79|V)(83|W)(89|X)(97|Y)(101 |Z)

Example:
KROMOS = 31*61*47 | 41*47*67 = 88877 | 129109 = 8 88 77 | 12 91 90
KROMOS IS MOD = 31*61*47 | 41*47*67 | 23*67 | 41*47*7 = 88877|129109|1541|13489 = 8 88 77 | 12 91 90 | 15 41 | 13 48 9

This may be slightly difficult to decode, but I have faith in you. This code can be used to inform you of investigative results, but only if you edit this out of my article.

-If I wish to be given another interview, I will yawn in one of my posts.
Example: Yawn... Forum mafia makes me sleepy.

This is the code you should use to communicate with me:
-Double number code:
This code is based on relative letter frequencies in the English language. The letters will be grouped by two and given a range of two digit numbers that represent both letters. Any number assigned to the two letters can be used to represent either of them. For maximum security, each number should be used once before repeating letters. Here is the letter/number breakdown:

(letters:numbers)
(ab: 00-09)(cd: 10-16)(ef: 17-31)(gh: 32-39)(ij: 40-46)(kl: 47-51)(mn: 52-60)(op: 61-70)(qr: 71-76)(st: 77-91)(uv: 92-95)(wx: 96-97)(yz: 98-99)

Example:
KROMOS = 47 71 61 52 61 77
Or alternatively
KROMOS = 50 74 70 52 63 90
KROMOS IS MOD = 47 71 61 52 61 77 | 40 78 | 54 69 15

-If you wish to discreetly reveal your identity to the rest of our team, say double tha funz somewhere in one of your posts.
Example: All these cool roles make forum mafia double tha funz.

Summary of cases:
This plan has its up- and downsides if you reveal you are corrupt journalist. Best case scenario nobody but you reads this and we have an alliance (the two of us should consider claiming Masons). Worst case scenario you inform a town member that there is a corrupt journalist. We should not write any information about this in our last wills to protect from sleuth/dirty sleuth if the other mafia have one.

If you are corrupt journalist, make sure to edit out our codes. If these codes are printed in the newsletter, they cannot be used and mafia will interpret this as refusal of alliance.

If you are town, then you cannot do anything to alter this message and I have probably become extremely suspicious. This is quite a gambit for both of us but I hope we trust each other enough to proceed.

-----------------
Clean Message
-----------------
As the citizens of Hedmark mourn the loss of our beloved Jarl, I think back to me great great grandfather who was originally from Nesodden, you see. In his day, he was a miner, and legend has it that he worked in the mine that Anders Westrum fell into on the day he became inspired by all things old. One cant hardly imagine that me great great grandfather worked among- or even was one of the predecessors of the Preservers who have come to ravage our land.

News reports of our beloved Jarls gruesome death have deeply disturbed many of us in Hedmark, and people are paniked, irrational, and out for revenge. Me brudder made the mistake of telling he neighbors that our family is originally of Nesodden, and someone carved in one of he pigs with the very same words carved into the body of our beloved Jarl. Join us or die

http://i44.tinypic.com/2ed86fl.jpg
Image of interviewee's brother's dead pig

Me? How do I feel about all of this? Me family has distant ties to Nesodden, but not the Nesodden under Anders Westrum. Now we are all citizens of Hedmark, and I urge you not to lash out at your neighbors in this time of turmoil. Together and united is the only way for us to find the real scum among us.

Comments from the editor:

It appears that this investigator/consigliere has spent a lot of time writing this down. I will not reveal him for the sake of his safety. He could be consigliere of course, but I will be the one judge whether or not he is mafia. I do feel sorry for ****** because he spent a lot of time writing this. If he is investigator then it is unfortunate his little ploy did not succeed for I am not the corrupted journalist. Oh well. I suppose I will cut down on the comments. After reading that article I'm sure all you do not want another block of text.

Re: M-FM VII Day Two: The Beginning of Many
Hi, just wanted to check in early today. I have something to do for a few hours before I can fully read through everything but I wanted to post some of my notes from yesterday:

Clemetine’s Day 1 Notes:
Name - # of posts up to and including post 201 (Night 1)
[Note that Kromos had 3 posts within this post window, so players with 3 or less posts are saddd. Really guys, it’s sad if the game host outposts you.]

Ajkej – 3 (apparently was just replaced by Kony)
-Doesn’t say much except Phyr could be lookout/framer. Flagged for low post count. Role: I suspect Town PR/Scum/Neut because he is laying low.

Borkbot – 19
-4th top poster
-Claims Exe, says will claim sheriff Day 2. Note that Inv. Results for Exe: Cop/Insane Cop/Exe/Jester/Mafioso. Someone also points out later that in this game no sheriff -> cop/insane cop instead. Probably is NOT sheriff.
-Has ingrown toenail on birthday :[
-Proposes to shoot/lynch Clementine/CmG/Sumikoko/DramaLlama replacement = Escaho -> Escaho died last night, just sayin
-Says is trying not to look like investigative town role (WIFOM?) -> I belive he is not investigative town. I suspect he is some flavor of town just from his general disposition. Not sure how accurate a read this is.

Clementine – 10
-NOT A SMURF!
-Notes CmG and Phyr as potentially scummy: CmG gf/actress, Phyr mafia/neut all based on immediate impression.
-Role: I'm not giving you guys any clues about this one :P

CmG – 35
-top poster
-Calls on exe to reveal so can help town and get target lynched later.
-Posts list of priority investigations based on most talkative
-Only person besides Phyr to support Phyr’s Lookout plan
-Someone should shoot: Goremancer/Ubernox/Escaho/Dust/Sumikoko -> in jest? Escaho Died last night
-Role: Not sure. Not sure if scum anymore. Potentially any role except citizen is my impression

creedkingsx – 2
-host outposts you? Shameful! Let’s see how he contributes Day2
-Role: Scum b/c lurks?

DramaLlama//Escaho - 5//11
-I will just be talking about Escaho’s posts
-nvm it’s relevant that DramaLlama seemed to Exe Phyr before quit
-Escaho claims practically every role, would retain role from DramaLlama so is exe?
-Role: Not sure, possibly exe or town
-Died N1 Sleuth

Dust – 6
-Brings up several new/good points in discussion of Phyr’s pan
-Lists lurkers
-Role: Probably Town/Town PR does not seem scummy

Fragos – 4
-Claims Janitor/Arso/Banshee -> probably jk…. O.o
-Doesn’t contribute much
-Role: Not enough posts for a good read. Lurker = scum?

FrostByte – 4
-Not allowed in FMXI b/c mod thought he was a troll
-Has “derpy quoting”
-Doesn’t contribute much but claims Day1 is just trolling
-Role: Probably town

Goremancer – 6
-Wants to claim cit, but sumikoko claimed first.
-Phyr and Clementine not particularly scummy yet, needs to see how things develop
-Role: Maybe Town PR

GriM-DeMoN – 5
-Seems confused, claims mason -> probably joking
-Role: cit/scum/neut

McPwnage – 7
-Requests vest, role is important
-Don’t shoot sumi if mason fails to recruit
-Role: Town PR/citizen
-Died N1 Citizen

Mopin – 5
-Phyr looks scummy b/c overly helpful to town with flawed plan, agrees Phyr seems like the type of person who might do that even if he is town tho
-Role: Town PR/citizen

Nick – 30
-2nd top poster
-Good analysis of Phyr’s Lookout plan
-Cit should roleclaim to test for mason
-citizens are expendable
-people who don’t post are lynch candidates, asks for gun to shoot lurkers
-Should shoot: sumikoko, dust, lurkers
-Phyr is pushing plan too hard to be scum hunting
-Role: helpfulness makes me think cit

Phyr – 21
-3rd top poster
-Posts elaborate plan involving lookout, defends plan throughout day. Would volunteer to be the chosen one if nobody else volunteers: implicit claim of cit/coroner/vet/vigi/neut/mafia
-Role: probably overzealous town role (doesn’t mind being rb’ed: GF, actress, Mafioso, corrupt journalist, exe, jester, cit, journalist, vet, vigi)

Rihfok -9
-Was in hospital!!
-Doesn’t trust anyone day/night 1
-Talks but doesn’t say much -> reads scummy to me, but was in hospital so should let it slide…
-Role: town/neut/mafia

Rocshi – 2
-Host outposts you. Shameful. Scum watch right here
-Role: scum of some kind ?

Sumikoko – 3
-Claims citizen
-What does Kufufu mean?
-Role: Citizen/Town PR but also maybe mafia.

trineroks – 2
-low posts!! Claims busy with school, but Rihfok was in hospital and manages to outpost you.
-Role: lurking scum?

Ubernox – 7
-claims sheriff -> no sheriff… >.>
-votes CmG
-Role: probably not sheriff.

Overall trends:
1. People who died had middle of the road post counts
2. Lurker list (these people had 3 or less posts yesterday): Ajkej (Kony), creedkingsx, Rocshi, Sumikoko, trineroks

I hope the people I have listed on the lurker list decide to participate more today :]

It seems pretty obvious that whoever was interviewed for the second article was consig. No reason for a regular Investigator to create that code and write down all of the cases within cases. Seems inceptionist to me. It also seems that we have a Journalist for the second article, given that the whole thing was posted.
The first article effectively was useless D:

I am just simply going to respond to this by saying there wasn't much relevant information to post about. haha
The only really intriguing thing that happened yesterday was Phyr's plan, which came off to me, as you said, as a town trying to work a plan that was not realistic. I also noted in the back of my head the potential for scumminess in the plan because it is, essentially, role-blocking the entire town for one night. The entire mafia would have been free to do whatever they wanted to do.

I respectfully disagree on both points. I'd have tried something too, if I had been interviewed (claiming town here XD).
And my plan would have "role-blocked" the protective roles AND some Mafia roles imo. The intestigative roles reign free.

And nothing I got notified of happend to me tonight. I'd like to hear of some role-blocked claims. And I'd be nice to know, if we got a witch (or Drug Dealer) in there.
