Cryptography is forbidden. Breadcrumbing is okay.
Never post screenshots of anything. Do not screenshot the thread, do not screenshot private chats, do not screenshot mod communication, do not screenshot. If you wish to quote something, copy + paste it.
The only player communication you are allowed to copy paste is either from the thread to a private chat or to a factional chat. Or from a private chat to a factional chat.
Pasting your rolecard, night feedback, or day feedback is okay. Pasting any other forms of mod communication is forbidden.
If you are unsure of what is allowed, ask first.
You may not modify your profile picture or signature at any point during the game.
I reserve the right to modify these rules if needed.

Can I ask questions about the setup?
You can ask. I won't answer most questions, but there are some that I will answer (all the questions in this FAQ for example were asked and then subsequently added here).

Can we trust you?
I will never knowingly lie to you unless made to do so by a role.

What factions are there?
There is an uninformed majority known as the town, and there is at least one anti-town faction.

Can rolecards contain hidden information or false information?
No. There will be no hidden or false information on anyone's rolecards.

Will players know their true alignment?
Rolecards will never have false or hidden information, that means players will always know their true alignment.

Will players know their true win condition?
Rolecards will never have false or hidden information, that means players will always know their true win condition.

How bastard is this game?
Consider the previous answers in this FAQ.
Consider that the title of the game is "Play at Your Own Risk"
I will allow you to form your own conclusions from here.

Why wasn't my question answered?
If you received an answer of "No comment" or "¯\_(ツ)_/¯" then that's all the answer you're going to get.
If you asked a question and didn't receive an answer or either of those, then I probably just missed your question and you should ask it again.




Mechanics




Every player may perform at most 1 day action and 1 night action unless specified otherwise.
Passive abilities happen automatically and do not cost any actions
Multitaskable abilities do not cost any actions to use. Any number of multitaskable actions may be used alongside a single normal day/night action.
Unlimited Use abilities may be used multiple times in the same phase. They are generally subject to some other restriction.
Abilities are by default night actions that get processed during the End of Night/Start of Day OoO.



Town Win Condition
The town's win condition is omitted from their rolecard, instead it is posted publicly here:
Town: Eliminate all anti-town factions.

The item I had N0 was a telephone. I had to add, change or remove 2 letters on it and pass it to someone to create a chat between us. Maybe something happens if all the letters are removed or maybe something happens if it returns to its original name? Or maybe its just a clever implementation of the 'telephone game' on an item called a telephone..

I don't see any benefit to revealing who I gave it to and in closed setups you never know what information could be dangerous to you.

I will say its positive for me to have votes on me at the end of the day. I had considered playing fancy and staying a train through the game but it would be too easy to get sniped given how the vote rules are. Given how unusual my role is Im assuming other peoples roles are also pretty out there. With the game flat out requiring people to vote its an easy potential that casting votes on people has more effect on the game than normal.

I am not sure. Maybe its just a chat heavy game to keep things interesting or maybe roles could do stuff with chats like killing/protecting/role blocking or whatever. Anything is possible.

I have not been paying attention to who shows up on the thread if thats what you mean. Of the chats I know about I believe people see the FM Anon accounts.

We don't know if we're dealing with a mafia faction, a neutral killer, a cult, or something even wackier.
The only information we know about the setup is that our preferred roles/complexity have something to do with the roles.
For all we know there could be extra mechanics that are in place that are simply hidden from us, but that is only speculation, and that doesn't get us anywhere.

I will say its positive for me to have votes on me at the end of the day. I had considered playing fancy and staying a train through the game but it would be too easy to get sniped given how the vote rules are. Given how unusual my role is Im assuming other peoples roles are also pretty out there. With the game flat out requiring people to vote its an easy potential that casting votes on people has more effect on the game than normal.

I am not sure. Maybe its just a chat heavy game to keep things interesting or maybe roles could do stuff with chats like killing/protecting/role blocking or whatever. Anything is possible.

Ngl if this is a town role, it sounds like a wacky one if I didn't know any better. Then again lol!bastard mechanics.

Yah this is my first bastard game for well a long time. Which helps explain why the player list is 11.

What we can reasonably assume:

The selected complexity voiced to the host influenced roles given
The voiced favorite roles 'sometimes' influenced roles given (Had no effect for me)
Multiple chats exist and multiple roles/mechanics exist that either create chats or join them
Votes do more than count towards a lynch and may be a design decision given they are mandatory

Small progress but its something. Its interesting to see who has participated in topics and who has been willing to talk about what.

The 3 roles I submitted were a modified IC or Mayor that reveals to the town as town but are evil, A role that turns a player inert while investigating as evil but has night immunity, and a role that brings a player back from the dead with a new role and/or alignment.

Good to see you doubled down on your claim instead of backtracking. Its still a bit weaker imo given you were going on about having a bat and insinuating you would kill people at night. I still do not like the timing and I see very substantial issues with the reasoning. You can say I am making an effort to discredit you or you can clarify your voiced thought process that looks contrived to me. If I was a N0 1 shot alignment cop with protective and kill abilities I would probably be avoiding attention while you are attracting it. I also have a balance mindset that at least some aspects of what you have insinuated and claimed must be false because if its all true your role sounds too overpowered compared to what others have voiced.

I think my points are valid and the rest of the players will have something interesting to chew on when they come back. Something I like about bastard games is that host meta is a thing. His claim would be much stronger if most or all players had some kinda N0 requirement that was separate to their role. I feel like this is something that could easily be solved D1 to some extent with minimal risk and it would allow us to help resolve both Gravity and Atlantic to some extent.

I thought about that as well but didnt mention it. I found it particularly interesting how genuine the double down on the N0 peek claim felt while the claim itself felt soooooo bad. Maybe the lack of self preservation means some kinda other motivation to protect that player or maybe it was just a really odd and thoughtless "Im about to go to bed and had a few beers so may as well say this" kinda thing.
