Hello, I am here to announce the news that I've been diagnosed with ADHD Inattentive Type (Known as ADD in other countries)

You can read up about it on This NHS Website (https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/attention-deficit-hyperactivity-disorder-adhd/)

Honestly explains a lot of my life, and a lot of my struggle with playing here on the forums and the struggles bring staff. Hopefully if the medication works out it will improve my ability to do all these stuff ^^

I'll be starting on my medication soon, which will be methylphenidate (Which some of you know as ritalin) it helps with the symptoms of ADHD, and also a treatment for narcolepsy so goodbye easy sleep. Side effects are also being less of a fat fuck, so thats good for me.

One of the reasons I'm announcing I've got ADHD is because I believe it's very important to talk about mental health and be open about any disabilities in my opinion.

So, feel free to speak about what you have ^^ would be interesting to know. And if you have any question fell free to ask

Dude I wrote all about your autistic idea in my bio man many years ago.
Amusing, you where so close with your conclusion.
Are you on medication? Would definitely like to hear what it's like taking it.

Disclaimer: This is not related to the on-going game of S-FM 313 by BananaCucho, of which I am currently in.

However, some of the stuff I say here is in relationship to me and forum mafia in general.

If you are in that game and think you may be influenced by what I say here, then please do not open the following spoiler.

I have Asperger's syndrome, a developmental disorder. Its like autism, but not the exact same thing. However, if it were on the autism spectrum, it tends be rated as high-functioning.

My most common issue is social awkwardness, but more importantly as it relates to FM, I just think differently. There is no simple way to explain it, but a lot of people with autism have the issue where they usually just can't think similarly to people without Autism, and even amongst those with Autism there can still be some differences.

I also have issues with my senses; in some cases my senses are either hyper or hypo sensitive as compared to other people. I don't think I have that as severe as others, but its enough for me to have difficulty understanding what people say in the presence of noise; I could always hear someone talking but never understand what they were saying in school cafeterias when I was younger.

I've also talked a bit about Asperger's syndrome and high-functioning autism (and why it can't always be said to be better than low-functioning autism) here: https://www.sc2mafia.com/forum/showthread.php/43292-Asperger-s-Syndrome?p=876000&viewfull=1#post876000

I could disclaimer every single time that I have Autism/Aspergers, but I don't for a few reasons (ordered in how much that reason means to me):

1. I would like to be able to grow and get past my difficulties if possible.
2. I would be perceived as a different player with that fact known; I want to be perceived as if though I didn't have it.
3. Worse-case scenario I get attacked for having a weird ATE during a game.

And its not that I hate having Asperger's syndrome but rather I see it as something that I have to overcome in order to improve myself as a person. Not that I want be "normal"; Normalcy is not something that I desire. Rather, capability is what I desire, if possible to achieve.

And if capability isn't possible, then its whatever closest to being capable that I want to be despite my hinderances.

Good on you Superjack

When you know what you're given, meds can help beautifully. (this is a cry out against the truck load of poured onto children to resolve the superfluous amount of problems their parents think they have)

Hopefully you're right and that it'll go well; stories about that medication aren't amazing, but if it can work well, it'll probably be great for you SJ.

SuperJack ,

naz raises a good point

Most, if not all, adhd meds are literally legal meth in pill form. i think its like one chemical bond difference. a friend of mine who rolls deep with goons has told me he presses meth and caffeine in a pill press and sells it as adderall. apparently none.of his customers have ever noticed

My drug counselor said adhd makes u more prone to addiction. from my understand ur brain is either constantly craving or generating stimuli and stimulants like coke or cigs basically fulfill the need, where as weed and alcohol numb ur receptors so ur brain essentially ignores it..either way tho treatment is shit cuz ur basically prescribed legal meth that u take daily. Id say to focus ur extra bullshit towards a hobby. Like exercise, completing small goals u set for urself, etc, basically affect ur brain in the same way adhd meds or substance dependency would. but im coked tf out rn so who knows

Firstly, even a single chemical bond has drastic changes for chemistry, take Methanol and Ethanol. One will kill you the other gives you a good time.
And then we have the placebo effect working in favour of your pal.

Its understandable about being more prone to addiction, and I'm glad to of managed to avoid everything so far, mostly because the Idea and Cons of everything that was on offer is terrible and unappealing.
I've tried in the past to start hobbies, I always hit the same barrier which I believe is there due to my ADHD. (And would explain why my Father also Hobby jumps)

Fortunately I will be taking Methylphenidate Hydrochloride (Ritalin as most comely known) which, unlike Adderall and Meth is not a Amphetamine and impacts the brain differently.

My take away is this,
If a normal person was to start Injecting themselves with Insulin, it's effects would not be positive. Yet for someone with a chemical imbalance, like Diabetes, it helps them live a normal and safer life.
And so, the ADHD medication is there to help give our brains the balance it needs to function at a better capacity.
