I decided to re-post this since it never got any relpies and is now buried deep under a mountain of posts. The things in yellow are just details, and don't have to be read to understand the role. I'd like feedback if at all possible:

Lawyer

Alignment: (Random, Adv. Neutral)

Abilities:
You can choose during the day to consult someone at night.
If not consulting, you can instead "clean" a target at night.*(Perhaps make this optional)

Attributes:
You show up as your name and color to the one you are consulting.**(Perhaps make this optional)
The person you consult cannot preform their role that night.

Goal: Help your client achieve victory.

Allies(Client): (Chosen at random from start of game)

Investigator Description: Your target is a skilled forger, they could be a lawyer or a framer. (Not sure if I got that description the same as the framers, but that's what I intended it to be.)

Now the client of the lawyer doesn't know he is, in fact, the lawyer's client. So with that knowledge there are several way a lawyer could play a game: He could consult everyone and claim to be their lawyer so as to gain their trust, (and if they're killers, hopefully not kill him) consult their client once and let them know that they are their lawyer, then proceed to clean the client every night thereafter*, or in the case that the client isn't a power role he could even consult him every night and talk about what they plan to do the next day. That's just to name a few.

This could also be handy for spies if they get to listen in on such consultations, as the lawyer doesn't know his clients role or goal and the client doesn't even know he has a lawyer until he's consulted by him, perhaps letting spies get some juicy info. (That is, if the lawyer and client even say that much.) As always the spy wouldn't be able to see who is talking, but the exchange of role names and agendas could make the spy more useful in games without masons.

Also, as the lawyer's consultations keep people from preforming their roles, he could also be seen as a kind of role blocker. This is offset, I believe, by the fact that the one being consulted knows who is consulting him**. Also, say if you were to consult a serial killer, the serial killer would have the option to kill you (and only you) that night. The same goes for any killing role, so it may be a bit risky to consult a lot of people for the sake of role blocking. I believe it's worthy to note that this consultation would take the target away from their group (if in any) for that night (i.e. mason or mafia chat) and so keep them from talking to each other that night.

The "cleaning", for lack of a better word, could be used to either keep a mafia hidden to sheriffs and and investigators, or a counter messure to prevent the framing of a client, as a "cleaning" would have priority over a framing. "Cleaning" a neutral party could be useful as well. (i.e. SK, Arsonist, Witch) Say the client is a witch, then where an investigator would normally see that they're a mystic, after the client had been "cleaned" the investigator would instead find them to be "not suspicious", and the same would go for any sheriffs investigating them. Perhaps this "cleaning" should be made an option to choose before the start of the game, as it may throw off some players' games and so would prefer not to have it in their games.

I believe the lawyer should be an infrequent Adv.Neutral in the case of a random pick, as having multiple lawyers may make the game a bit unbalanced depending on who their clients are. I would also say that it should be impossible for two lawyers to get the same client.

Finally, the lawyer's win conditions. As long as the lawyer's client achieves a victory, then so does the lawyer, even if he dies. This means that if the lawyers client was mafia then as long as it was a mafia victory, even if both him and his client died, the lawyer would win as well. The win condition then, would be to achieve the goals of the client.

Thank you for reading my ideas on the lawyer role. Please note that these are merely suggestions, and that I leave the consideration, as well as the complete and final development, of my idea on any level in the hands of those implementing it into the game. (DR and whoever may help him.)
