Backstory:
Most of humanity is gone. A race of alien beings has invaded the planet... although they are not the kind of aliens you'd probably think of as such. Nobody knows what they look like, what they want, or if they're even aware of our presence. Nevertheless, since their invasion, nearly 90% of humanity went extinct. Reports indicate that the creatures drive those who see them suicidally insane. Those who survive and don't bear the urge to kill themselves instead want others to experience the same "revelation" they had when they gazed upon the creatures.
Most survivors live in small groups, of no more than a dozen people. A ragtag group of 5 people, for example, have banded together to survive the apocalypse in what was once Downtown Detroit:
John Wilkins, a veteran of the Gulf War and the leader of the group.
Raul Cortega, former hardware store owner.
Ian deVries, former Mayor of Holland.
Robin Portland, a sea captain who was shuttling cargo from Detroit to Quebec when the invasion began.
Richard Witt, an immigrant from England.
But what only one of them knows, is that not all is as it seems, for one of these men has secretly seen the creatures and intends to force the others' eyes open...
