In the interest of making our nominations and votes meaningful, we should figure out what qualities we want to have in a mayor. I can think of three things to look for:

1) Someone who we know is smart from other FMs or M-FMs.
2) Someone who is a citizen, so if they get hit we don't lose a power role.
or
3) Someone who is a power role, so that that role will get healed for sure. (There has to be at least one protecting role, right?)

We also should, of course, plan to check our elected mayor tonight. So I think it's unlikely that we'll be able to scumhunt by looking for mafia voting each other up. The only possibility that seems likely is that a mafia would try to get it's godfather elected, which is maybe a good case for not voting up citizen-claimers.

I had hoped I could stay in the shadows and support the progress of purging the root of the crimes, but it appears that is no longer a viable course of action. I am scared that the responsibility may indeed be too great for me, but I will not hand this seat of power to ignant buffoons. They deserve nothing. They are nought but pickpockets, cutthroats, liars, paupers that have airy, arbitary arguments. I observed that many of you had believed in their delusional speeches. I beg of you to relinquish those beliefs. You must realize your mistakes before they are mayor. I am not saying I am the perfect person for being a mayor, but I say with confidence that I will be superior to these imbeciles. I will prevail against the Jets and the Sharks, I swear it to my ignancy. Awaken, fair citizens. And have faith in me. I will restore the glory this town has once held.

I don't think our COM identities should be revealed or have any bearing on the game. It only introduces bias. I mean, if I said I was Goonswarm (I'm not, by the way), would that make me any better a candidate than anyone else, only based on the merit that I'm a mod? If anything, I would be suspicious of people who try to use their COM identities to sway the election results.
