View Full Version : The Blood Altar of Khorne

Children of Dead Chat!
For the past few days I have walked among you, listening to your woes and to your fears. I have seen the darkest parts of you, seen you suffer at the hands of those who still walk among the living. Many of us were wronged at the hands of those who would say there are acting in the interest of us all. They claim off-handedly that they will bring victory to all of us, and they demand we merely lay down our own lives while they sit atop of their cushioned pedestals safe from harm. And they whisper hushed promises into our ears that 'Everything will be fine, trust us, it'll be easy.'

Well here I stand, a soul of the damned, stripped of everything I once was by the coldness of a bronze sword. And for what? I may not have had the tools to sanctify my place among those 'worthy' of battling against Lucifer, while my rotting bones soaked into the Earth, but I deserved the right to choose for myself which I would have rather preferred - To side with those who smile and say 'It will be easy', or those who stand before unwavering odds with their heads held high and say 'We will reward those who are loyal, and strive to overcome all adversity. Only a few must die, and in their blood shall the rest be forged stronger than before.'

A choice I would have made gladly, but one that was stolen from me nonetheless. Just as it was stolen from you. But even as the courageous men and women decide to stand together to truly achieve something great in an otherwise bleak world, many raise their voices, slinging insults and condemning them for not dancing to their predetermined tune. And I ask you, 'Why?' Why do these men and women deserve such treatment, what wrong are they committing other than acting towards a more difficult, more enjoyable end? Do they deserve it? Nay, I say! Instead, I say they should be revered, heralded as the ones who decided to rise up and overthrow the tyranny of Eternity, to look up those who were arrogant to think that victory was all but assured and say 'We will win.'

So today, brothers and sisters, I beseech you. All of you who hear my words and have even an inkling of understanding of them, those who truly believe my words to be true, please join your voices with mine and give praise to those who would sacrifice so much to bring this conflict to a more interesting and satisfying end.

And when they reach the afterlife, let them do so not as despicable villains and miscreants, but as chosen warriors of Khorne. As Gods!

Blood for the Blood God, children. Skulls for the Skull Throne!

As much as I obviously love the Warhammer 40k reference: when everyone switches sides to the underdog, they stop being the underdog.

Other than that, I'm all about the Corpse-God: FOR THE EMPEROR!

I am happy for the people who chose sin before today, the ones who switched today deserve a long and most painful death for their cowardice.

Yet live they will. This is how things are.

I pity Jesus the most. Must be turning in his grave. Can't post in dead chat. Can't post in day/night chat. Poor thing! Dead for naught!

Lmao, yeah I didn't even think about how much rage McPwnage must have right now. I'm sure the people around him in real life are sick and tired of hearing about "Fucking Auckmid and Ambient".

If anything, the true heroes right now are Fred and Elixir for standing up for what's right. By standing up to Sin, they're inviting Auckmid's death tonight, which means they will then be allied to the losing faction. I'm proud to call them teammates.

Well Wolfcheese avenged your death, so you should definitely be proud of him. And you can be proud of any humanity aligned player that does not vote with Sin to save themselves.

@Yayap

If what philie posted is true, then I had to agree. Some of them don't deserve a win. Yet. So you are correct.

I'm proud that dead chat has little if any hate. Only anger towards fail strategies.

fred and Elixir not playing towards their victory conditions anymore? Auckmid given in to peer pressure.

Concept of afterlife is sure useful in making sure some individuals not siding with Sin...

Now is a game of emotions not strategy...

If only there were no rule against communicating with the living. If there were no rules of that sort I would make this my signature right now.

In fact, I say that everyone here in dead chat that can lose a win because people are voting with sin, I say that we ALL have this as our signature. Shame them!

Let He Who Is Without Sin Cast The First Stone

For me, I dare not say shame them. Even I tried to buy time for myself during Day1 and Day2.

And this Eternity is not really to my liking. To me they are no different from Sin - kill/lynch all who oppose us, instead of love to all.

Your teammates are playing against their win conditions right now based on a delusional sense of justice while Eternity accuses everyone siding with Sin to be gamethrowing.

It's ironic that Eternity's only perceived allies right now are the only ones actually gamethrowing.

Death to all those who would defy the Almighty God-Emperor. We shall purify the Eye of Terror in a Righteous Crusade.

ACCEPT THEY CHALLENGE, NO MATTER THE ODDS

O, Emperor, in wrath rejoicing at bloody wars; fierce and untamed,

whose mighty power doth make the strongest walls from their foundations shake.

All-conquering Master of Mankind,
Be pleased with this wat's tumultous roar.

Delight in swords and fists red with Daemon blood, and the dire ruin of savage battle.

Rejoice in the furious challenge, and avenging strife, whose works with woe embitter human life!

Auckmid's the one that went full retard. The shitty thing about being the neutral team is that if we sided with Eternity, Sin calls us retards, if we sided with Sin, eternity calls us retards. I'm still happy with our decision.

Or if we truly tried to play neutral (read: impossible) and leave everyone alone and just be satisfied with Tiberius living and say screw it to everyone else and their factions:
1. We'll probably end up being dragged into a side by the losing team.
2. We get called jerkwads for saying screw it to everyone else cause our winning condition's been fulfilled already because Eternity and Sin can't settle their dispute.
Raaaaawr.

Earlier in this topic someone said the Roman factor would be the easiest to win as, but I think they are also in the easiest position to be betrayed.
Hey, I was right! Although at the time didn't imagine part of the team would be betraying itself in the process.

TheWaaagh
December 8th, 2011, 06:08 PM
Yeah, day one consisted of everyone being pissed at Rome for having the easiest win condition. So it's either we take full advantage of that and everyone hates us, or we pick a side and then... half of everyone hates us. Sweeeeeeeet. Personally, I liked the way we played up until Auckmid jailed the wrong person. I felt like an Inquisitor, which was fun up until a demon tore me asunder.

Nick

Roman made enemies instead of playing them against each other.

As said on Day1, played decently, Roman is assured of a win.

Read Sumi's post Nick. If we had played the way you wanted (i.e true neutral) everyone would've hated us more than they already did at the start of Day 1. So yeah, we picked a side. And it would've worked, and everyone would've been happy, had Auckmid actually paid attention with who he was jailing. But regardless of all that, I'm still happy with the way we played.

Err... this is game. With your logic, mafia and SK should throw every other game.

They may rant at you in FM. But rest assured that it won't affect your reputation outside FM, I think. Unless you played badly.

By the way, the pressure you felt while in game is a strategy from Eternity and Humanity to force Roman to join them. You fell for it.

What?? My logic is sound, and it has nothing to do with the mafia and sk game throwing. Rome was designed as a neutral party that was essentially guaranteed a win and didn't have to side with anyone. That is not fun to play. So we picked a side. That's not game throwing, that's making what otherwise would've been 5 people lurking into 5 people having something to do. The fact that you extrapolated from that that I'm saying mafia and sk should game throw is just... I don't even have a word for it. Your logic fails here, bud.

And that pressure from both sides wasn't a trap to "fall for". It was an honest truth that I know I felt, and I'm sure the rest of my team did as well.

The fun part being Roman is that you can play the balancing act. Picking a side is certainly not gamethrowing. I think I used the wrong analogy, my bad. Picking a side almost certainly means that the losing side will drag you down together. If Roman really wanted to pick sides, as philie and I have said, make sure you END THE GAME QUICKLY so that the losing side will not have time for revenge attacks.

And Romans don't really need to lurk. In fact, everyone can reveal themselves if they know how to sit on the fence properly, and laugh at Eternity and Sin killing each other.

I can guarantee that Romans will not win.

Romans missed TWO chances for a quick victory. One from Eternity. Another from Sin.

In order to win, yes. But I took their continuing to side with Eternity as their way of saying "Sorry we totally fucked you guys over, here we'll lose so you can win" which, to me, makes a better story in the end. True Jesus style sacrifice, ya' dig?

Your whole 'morality' complex is flawed.

This is a game of Mafia. They are not pure. They are cult. They are no more holy than anything.

They sided with eternity because they wanted to end the game faster. They don't care if they won.. Except for Auckmid. I think he is just foolish.
