Forum Mafia VII - Final Battle (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WYduD2LVbVU#ws)
With the death of Hojo, the Turks, and the brutal execution of President Shinra, the plan for Midgar Revolution was almost fulfilled. Only two obstacles were still standing between the rebels and victory: Rufus Shinra and Sephiroth, two of the most fearsome adversaries they would ever have to face.
The martyrs and heroes of Midgard had already tracked Rufus during the previous days - he was disguising as Ashlyn - so they searched frantically for him among the crowd in the Main Square... but he was nowhere to be found. In fact, the new president of the Shinra company crawled away as soon as the first accuses started to come out. He managed to reach the weapon factory, where the engineers have been mounting the Mako Beam on a giant walking robot. Rufus decided to skip the testing phase. He hopped right into the driver seat, closed the protective dome that surrounded the cabin and started walking towards Sector 8, crushing cars and houses beneath the huge metallic feet of his new toy.
Meanwhile, in the Main Square, the rebels decided not to waste their time, and went on with the accusation of Mya, whom they believed to be Sephiroth. Unfortunately, he preceeded them. By the time they started the forum again, Mya tossed her disguise away and revealed herself.
Sephiroth: “Enough! I am sick of this child’s play.”
The crowd, in unison: “Oh my god, it’s Sephiroth!”
Sephiroth: “I let you ignorant fools have your fun for a while... but now it’s over. You will no longer stand in my way!”
At the end of that sentence, Sephiroth killed Lukas and Yren with a single slash of his sword, then he lunged at Evan and pierced him exactly through his heart.
Sephiroth: “Your souls mean nothing to me! You are nothing but useless sacks of walking flesh... is there ANYONE among you who dares challenging me?”
Noelle: “And you are nothing but a selfish and megalomaniac bastard! What happened to the Sephiroth I once knew? Have you completely lost your mind?”
Sephiroth: “Oh, little Zack... you come out of the darkness, at last. Do you think this will change anything? Do you think you have the POWER to change something?”
Noelle, revealing herself as Zack: “I may not be more powerful than you, but I know this, Sephiroth: what kind of SOLDIER would I be if I didn’t try? ”
Sephiroth: “Ha! I have been chosen to rule this planet. Come and try to stop me! Ha Ha Ha!”
Zack charged towards Sephiroth with his sword out, resulting in a violent clash of the two blades. A fierce battle ensued. Blow after blow, Sephiroth’s superior skill was starting to tear Zack’s defenses apart, until the poor SOLDIER found himself disarmed and almost fatally wounded, while his opponent showed nothing more than a few scratches.
Sephiroth: “Do you see it now? Your efforts are pointless. I am the most powerful being in the world! Now give me your soul!”
Sephiroth attacked Zack one last time, ending his life forever. As his spirit vanished into the Lifestream, something in Sephiroth’s pocket began to throb and resonate. It was the Black Materia, finally charged with the souls of 4 brave warriors, their destiny stolen forever.
With the new powers he acquired, a metamorphosis started within Sephiroth’s body. A huge black wing had grown behind his right shoulder... the One Winged Angel rebirth was complete. People begun to scream and disperse throughout the plaza, terrified by the maniacal laugh that their new enemy let out.
All of a sudden though, a green laser-like beam cut through the buildings and hit Sephiroth, burning a large part of his newly acquired feathers.
Rufus: “Hey birdie, don’t think I’ll let you ruin my plans just because of who you are. This city is MINE!”
Sephiroth, visibly annoyed: “You again... when will this world get rid of you incompetent Shinra idiots?”
Rufus: “Do you like my new toy, Seph? Look at it closely - it will be the last thing you see in this world.”
The robot fired another beam, but this time the one winged angel dodged it and prepared to launch a dive attack on his enemy. Rufus saw this coming and maneuvered the construct away from the trajectory, then he fired another beam, which was deflected by Sephiroth’s sword. The skill level and power of the two fighters were similar, no one could guess the outcome at that point. It was then that Sephiroth decided to use again the powers of the Black Materia.
“SUPERNOVA!” He shouted, and a massive flaming sphere appeared out of thin air, moving at extreme speed towards the Shinra robot. Rufus was caught by surprise and sustained the blow, suffering heavy damage, but the Mako Beam was still operative. Seeing that Sephiroth spent a lot of energy to cast that spell, Rufus immediately fired his weapon at maximum power as a counterattack. The green laser hit Sephiroth directly, removing almost the entire right part of his upper body, including the wing and his right arm… but it was not enough to kill him.
It was a desperate attack, as it used the last Mako reserves of the weapon. Sephiroth regenerated himself with a healing spell, weak, but sufficient to reconstruct part of his body. His anger grew alongside his madness, when he realized he was not invulnerable. Still, he jumped on the Shinra robot and broke into the cabin where Rufus was, and ended his life with a single slash.
Sephiroth, with renewed strength after the absorption of a new soul: ”And now... none shall stand between me and my goal! You will all be annihilated!” - then he pointed his finger towards Jaret - ”Starting with... her.”
He recognized the figure of Aeris, her clothes teared by the explosions occurred in the previous battles. Sephiroth’s sword slid through Aeris’s chest almost without effort, and he was regaining even more strength.
The surviving bystanders had almost lost all hope. They realized soon enough that none of them had the power to stand against the almighty one winged angel, who would soon have fully recharged his Black Materia, at which point the world would be his.
Sephiroth: ”George! Where are you hiding! I know you are still here...”
In his mad rage, Sephiroth tore down almost the entirety of what remained of Sector 8. His thirst for soul and blood seemed endless, and finally he found George hiding inside a small house. His fate was no different, for he was nothing else than an additional soul for the Black Materia.
When Sephiroth was about to become unstoppable, a miracle happened. With her dying breath and the help of the Holy Materia, Aeris summoned the most powerful entities on the Planet, the WEAPONs. Two huge constructs, one made of red metal and the other green, landed in the middle of the Main Square. All the materia and the mako in a radius of 2 kilometers was absorbed by the Emerald Weapon, while the Ruby Weapon attacked Sephiroth directly. Even with all his strength, he couldn’t possibly stand a fight against the two massive entities... or could he?
After a sequence of blows, Sephiroth managed to tear down the Ruby Weapon, though not without a huge effort on his part. The Emerald Weapon, however, had charged his ultimate attack, the Aire Tam Storm, which was discharged on the enemy at maximum power. Incredibly enough, not even this was sufficient to end Sephiroth’s life. As the Emerald Weapon needed time to recharge its attack, the survivors remembered that a single soul was the only thing Sephiroth needed for them to be completely defeated.
One of them, though, noticed a sparkling red materia in his pocket... It was Peter, or should we call her Yuffie, the ninja of Wutai. Fate’s will was that the red materia that Yuffie was then holding in her hands was the most powerful summon materia that ever existed, also known as “Knights of the Round”.
“ULTIMATE END”: this was the vocal command to activate the supreme power of the summon materia. A legion of spirit knights assaulted Sephiroth, ravaging and destroying his body once and for all.
It was finally over... Midgar and the entire world would finally meet peace. In the end, Yuffie went away with all the materia she could take back from the weapons, while Ted, Alec, Lois and Edna took control of the city, with the purpose of rebuilding it for the better.

I had a choice between Wendy and Lois last night, as they both were HIGH priority targets for the scum. I also considered myself one of the priority targets from Sephiroth, so I had to use vest anyway. In the end, even though I haven't reached my objective, I played very well - without my interference, Carson would have remained in shadows. Now that he is dead, Wendy was able to roleblock Sephiroth TWO times. Otherwise, she would still have been blocked, and Sephiroth would be able to fully charge his Materia.
Now, who is going to host next Forum Mafia session? I nominate FalseTruth, he played exceptionally well this game. I think everyone else should agree with me.

I'm pretty sure they have already decided who's hosting up till FMX
FalseTruth
November 1st, 2011, 12:15 AM
Your success in Forum Mafia doesn't determine if you host it. Yes, they may be correlated at times, but they don't have to be.
Also, Deathfire is right, we have hosts determined up till FMXIII. I will be hosting FMVIII and DR will host FMVI. For clarification, we can call FMVI FMDR because the order is a bit mixed up atm.
FM0-DR
FMI-DR
FMII-Elixir
FMIII-FalseTruth & Goonswarm
FMIV-Claw & oops_ur_dead
FMV-Elixir
FMVII-Illidan & Raiden
FMVI(DR)- Dark.Revenant (Note the order mix-up)

Nah, we played poorly overall. Tried to kill cult leader night 2, getting roleblocked on night 1. (admitably I didn't want this) And the funny thing is, that berry was getting watched on the same night...... Srsly we needed to pick better targets. Ash and carson weren't doing much of anything at all, yayap was like trying to be undercover, I think it may have ended up taking away from his other skills.
To be honest, I kinda thought he was yayap due to his first post commenting about yayap, plus the fact that it sounded like he could be yayap. I performed rather poorly, I was hoping to be a neutral role rather then a mafia, figured I would stop getting town roles by that point.

Thank you everyone for participating! It has been fun being host for once. If you enjoyed the experience, we will probably do it again some time in the future, after the hosts rotation starts again :)
I don't have a lot of time now since i am not at home, so i cannot post my usual best & worst list, but i will satisfy a little of your curiosity.
I'm still not sure about the second best town player. I am considering Auckmid and Fragos, and Jaret for different reasons. They all had highs and lows, especially when facing the option to roleclaim or not, however they all performed above average and overall they were a great help for their faction.
As for second best neutral player, i am considering Elixir and Goonswarm. Elixir was extremely unlucky, most of the scum and power roles were exposed very early, leaving him with little chance to get killed by anyone. Goon has been hindered in a different way, but for the same reason. They both performed well, they could deserve victory, but not in this particular game.
Now for the second best mafia player, i don't know what to say really. The two mafia were easily the worst teams of the game, reds being somewhat better than the oranges despite their early losses. By process of elimination, i could rule out all of the oranges and Lunavium (inexperienced more than anything, you will definitely get better in time), so let's say i have to consider Deathfire and Ganondorf (if we even consider him mafia).
Finally, i hope you enjoyed the RP. We put quite a lot of effort in it :) if we did at least half as good as Elixir, we will be happy.

These are all the last wills of the people that are not dead or died the last day:
Alec:
Jaret isn't a citizen, we attmped to mason him and he 'respectfully declined'
Wendy was our other mason target, obviously she couldn't be recruited.
Edna was a choice, but she respectfully declined.
Tonight, I'm voting to send myself to go convert deirdre [This is prior to my partner(s) voting as well, but seeing as how I'm the only active/competent member of the masons, And i already convinced him to stop attempting things on his own, my only guess is that he will vote with me so I'm presumptuously writing this will.
Ashlyn:
Entry 1:
Dear diary, today was like any other day. My father brutally murdered another one of his enemies, and Heidegger had to clean up afterwards as always. Dad keeps having him do the dirty work. As for me, i'm trying to keep whats left of our assets intact... I try to gather information for my father, dear old president Shinra, to use. Most of the time he doesn't even listen to me, what does a child know after all, right? "Watch your mouth boy, I know what i'm doing!" he says, but thats just the thing, i'm not a boy "anymore", actually I never was. Thats what he wanted me to be, still i'm more of a "man" than he will ever be, foolish father, how is it that he managed to survive as stupid as he is? Oh thats right, it was thanks to me. Despite it all, I still love my father, even if he deprived me of a childhood, even if he made me pretend to be something i'm not... Rufus, my name, what a joke, I hate it. One day i'l rule this company and i'l do whatever I want! Maybe i'l wait before telling everyone i'm actually a woman and that I don't want to be called Rufus anymore, the shock might cause an earthquake among these unintelligent apes who my father calls followers.
Entry 2:
Scarlet was killed by angry citizens, good, I never liked her, that bitch. She killed my mother, there was never any proof but I know it, she wanted to be Scarlet Shinra... Fortunatley the one good thing my father ever did was flat out refuse her. I guess thats one good point to him, he really did love my mother, and could be with no other woman after her... But he should have been able to save her. Doesn't matter, i'l just keep doing my job as always, keeping whats left of this family and this company together.
Entry 3:
Heidegger was corrupted by Jenova cells injected to him by Hojo, who knows how long he has been a puppet of Jenova. He was a useful, hardworking type, albeit fairly grumpy. Its a shame how his life ended, not surviving the cleansing done by the Cetra. Rest in peace Heidegger, though I really won't miss your horse laugh.
Final entry:
My father, president Shinra, was executed by the Midgar rebels along with Reno, the last of the Turks. Now I am next, I write this final will before going on my last attempt to destroy these insurgent fools!
Notes:
N1 Erika = Mason/Witch/Cult
N2 Yren = Doctor/Sephiroth
N3 Edna = Detective/Lookout/Framer/Ghost
N4 Jailed by "Mindy"
N5 Killed Wendy
Edna:
If you are reading this, then I am already done by now. Maybe it was because I attracted unwanted attention, from scum roles. Or maybe it was just my bad luck. Well, it's my first time on the forum here, so I have no regrets about it... Just in case you're interested, I went to watch over Ashley this night. Now that results are flipped over i'm sure she may be visited by scum roles this night.
Everything I said is what I seen - George and Lois have visited Rita first night. We know already that Rita is vigilante, but I don't want you talk about George anymore. I do not trust Lois yet, but the only good thing is that I told Vigilante NOT to shoot Ashley. People that can be trusted right now are Omar, Rita, Wendy and Alec. And about Shawna... we know that George is not suspicious ONLY from her words.
Right now I want you to deny Shinra win by lynching Janice next day, as we are sure already that she is scum. Once Janice is dead, Shinra will lose thier advantageous position in the current game. I'm sure the remaining Turks are incredibly angry, so they should start attacking Shinra members by now to force then revealing Sephiroth's identity in last wills.
And sorry, Sephiroth, but assuming that they know your identity, right now you are Shinra's puppet. You are alive only as long as they want, as they probably know already who is who. Is that really what you want?
Yuffie, if you are still alive, please win this game for me. I know that you will be the wild Joker that will be able to turn the tides in favor of the faction you choose to side with. Or you can also be the Ace that will able to win on his own. Anyway, good luck to you, Yuffie... Farewell...

George:
Donald Glover crying is the funniest thing ever (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTCL6f5YtDQ#ws)
Jaret:
Muso's journal night 5
I didn't trust this no-lynch thing, but how can you stop the mob.
Revealing today certainly took the joy out of the ruse. I would have been happy to have
stayed hidden until the end if the scum hadn't randomly started role-claiming impossible
roles. Including Noelle. I don't know what she is but she's not a doctor. Either way had to
sacrifice myself for that shit.
WIFOMing tonight on my heal target. Given that I revealed all my past heals, hopefully scum
will assume I'm healing Omar. Difficult to tell, but I suspect Wendy may be vesting tonight
so I'll leave her be - which means my heal target is Lois, not because i think she's any more useful than the others, but because I think she'll be attacked.
Who else is going to be attacked tonight? Me. Who's protecting me? Nobody.
GG.
Lois:
Followed Noelle N1, then Lucas N2. Sadly, both of them stayed at home both nights. Everyone knows my opinions on George and how he should be taken care of VERY quickly, and Clue lynches look like the way to go. My 1 word of wisdom is that Shawna seems suspicious to me. While she is a claimed Cop, keep an eye on her. She may not be completely Town. Targeting Glen N3 as, despite people saying we are quite similar in play style, he is still guilty of shameless budying, which is never good.
Auckmid
Mya:
My death note for today, had I not been roleblocked.
-kill Lois
-death note
I grow restless and as I look at the souls I have gathered so far, and those to join me from outside my influence, I grow worried. I see a unified group that has so far been diligent and perusing their goals. Know that my direction has changed, that with the role reveals, my targets have been made clear to me. Also know that I am safe among them, for they take lies for truth, and accept what is not. We must pool out efforts to balance what remains, my final soul gathered, the souls of the fallen shall be released and you will witness a torment and destruction, that this world has yet to see.
I have heard your message, and I agree. My actions will follow suit. Know that the student has found his master, and even should I fall, my legacy will continue.
The warnings are over, the apocalypse begins.
To the members of the town, good job finding me. I feel unfortunately that my demise was due to the complete and utter retardation of both Mafia teams. Honestly what the fucking fuck were you doing. Town knew all your roles by day 3 and you are trying to kill citizens??? They have ONE DOCTOR for fucks sake. KILL THE FUCKING POWER ROLES, I had to kill people who were insured not to be healed as I needed to get charges for the Black Materia. Once I had killed lois tonight I would have killed both the lookout and the escort the following nights. Seriously I have never seen a game with mafia that played this horribly.
To mafia: http://i.imgur.com/QbGeL.jpg
To all others, I hope I made the game more entertaining with death notes. It is something I wished to see in previous games but all the killers were BORING, and you know how it goes with my luck and being Godfather, anyways I had much fun this game. Unfortunately due to me posting outside the forums my COM name was revealed and I do believe that I would be unable to claim citizen, but good lord it is all that was left to claim.
Good luck to the rest of you, and great job hosts. This was my favorite FM so far.

Bravo, fred is dead. It's too bad though that I had to die in such a manner, the victory is not assured. I still wonder about Ted, and if my accidental find is really a fluke. I just hope that you guys can figure out who I gave my last vest to. For obvious reasons I can't give that away. Rest assured, I did not give it to George. Feel free to kill George, for he is derp.
Night 1 - Katherine
Night 2 - Shawna
Night 3 - Wendy
Night 4 - ???
Ted:
Really? You killed a Citizen? Well I played the shit out of this role.
It remains fairly clear who is who. The last two unconfirmed power roles has left Day V murky. To reiterate my information. I was jailed by George, and I was interviewed by Journalist Night V. I did not have any new insight, but thought it best to publish this information to page one. I have faith in this town aside from a neutral throwing things into chaos.

I would have given MVP to philie and monster.
Never underestimate the power of patience. Only a select few are capable of the will to remain quiet and shoot only when necessary.
My honorable mention would be Ambient for playing as an extraordinary citizen and showing us all how a citizen should be played. He almost cracked my crazy coroner roleclaim, which I thought was nearly flawless.
My best team would be awarded to Town, for lack of a better team.
The worst team imo was the turks, for failing to do anything productive and essentially working for the town throughout their entire existence. Additionally, I'm not particularly fond of Yayap's playstyle. Read the jail chat for more info.
I'm not going to go into players who played extremely poorly because I don't think that would be constructive for anyone. For many, this was a learning experience. I hope you can all improve and play better in future fms.

monster.
Oh shit, sorry, i forgot about you monster. You are certainly in league for BTP 2nd, although i wouldn't have waited so long for shooting. Perhaps my point of view is biased because i knew everything since start, but i think there were at least 1-2 confirmed scum by day 3. Still, you helped the town a lot, and that will not be ignored.

His shots were based on mine and Lois's leads. If Rita was alive 1 more day, he would certainly be the 2nd best town. But hey, live short and flashy life, and you will be praised in the end.

I thought that was some excellent Yuffie play - I can't say it was flawless and the circumstances were very favourable, but the point is you got the job done and in the last couple of days the Town was led down some very weird logic paths.
I was a little confused about the Jailor play. I think the network of jail victims was convoluted (don't get me wrong all those individual code words and everything was good play). Thing is, people were too ready to assume the people within the net were innocent. How do you know that you jailed a Citizen and didn't just roleblock the Framer for instance?

Hard to say. Philie got the most roles correct, but many wrong identities. Yayap guessed fewer roles, but more identities. FalseTruth got less of everything, but with next to 100% accuracy, especially his day 4 (or was it 5?) list, where he got everything correct except the roles he purposely lied about. I'd say FalseTruth wins.
Who had the best last will? I remember seeing something along those lines on the day 2 dead chat.
Right, this is going to be another close call. I am a fan of rage comics, so i liked yayap's. Dust's made a very good one too, with his dark mafia themed strip, and finally Elixir's was very original and fitting. I'd say Dust quality wise, and yayap fun wise.

WOOT! Im MVP? Deathfire didnt call me bad? What is this sorcery:P
You guys are so nice :3
Good to know I had many roles right, I bet it's due to me picking up on all the stealth cit and masons and investigator claims. Funny I thought Warren (bodyguards)= armorsmith. I thought he was a pretend-Zane and Peter was real Zane... False is the master troller. Also y u no steal my slut ability, I know you want it False :(
I also went to block the real sheriff at some point but Carson stopped me. Poor guy died forever alone.
That was epic fail trying to catch yayap too hard. Embarrassing
Sorry masons for screwing you over, I've got to admit i planned on you either not checking me or checking me and having you as a backup when I needed it. Quite selfish but I see me and Muso think alike, not only we saved same targets at night but we also used the same strat for hiding. This can begin a new meta when claiming cit doesn't mean you're a meatshield no longer.
Thinking of which, if Muso didnt get to heal cause i blocked killer, I also didnt get to save my ally for he was about to get healed? Mutual cockblock, but i think if i got my 2ndary complete then so should Muso. It's quite awesome as it is to heal 2 guys correctly in a game.
Rita was super awesome. I won't argue when and who he should have shot, but he brought me many good laughs during the game when he threatened people so boldly(+the avatar and status). It was double as awesome when I got to know mafia not only killed his "victims" but also framed him at night. So cute.
Mason Alec and citizen Ted were super awesome too! Thanks for saving me from Claw, not being lurkers, and actually analyzing shit. And very nice for being your first game and all.
False made the game more interesting as much as he could, but he was a neutral and thus could afford having some great fun. Also comparing to his (almost perfect) award in fm4, and lynch escort exec move he has been a sexy beast this time and I'd give him mvp.
Poor Goon, I pinned him as town d2 because of his bandwagon behavior: very pro-town and pointing at him having nothing to hide. Best hiding scum in history of FM no joke. I'd never find him without say, mafias killing cl and getting revealed. Very very nice.
Hosts were pure epic. RPs were awesome and I appreciate the effort Illidan put into keeping things meta-free (hidden last active+time online and automatic invis).
Thanks fred for the sig:O
And anyone I didnt mention for almost a month of great fun.

Congrats to everyone who won, & especially to philie! I only casually followed the game, but even early on it was pretty clear that Wendy was going to be instrumental in the town's victory.
I also feel a little better about my meltdown as GF in FMIII if even Yayap's powers can't automatically lead a mafia to victory. Playing scum in FM is hard, especially when you only get a chance to do it once every couple months.

He radiated as Sephiroth to me, his posts screamed "I'm Sephiroth!" at me... Thats not a joke. My secondary objective made me more observant, without it I wouldn't look for who could be Sephiroth as intently. So yeah, these secondaries give more drive for people to play the game better and should continue to be a part of FM.

Well, I thought, "How would Sephiroth play?" , and the manner of Mya's posts + that overly cute avatar made alot of sense to me. I suspected it might be Mya or Peter, but was leaning more towards Mya. That is why I was 90% positive Mya was Sephiroth and not doctor after my investigation, and I was correct.
Considering Goonswarm's theatrical death notes and dramatic manner during FM7 its fair to assume we are somewhat like-minded, I enjoy being dramatic myself. Thats probably the reason I picked up on him being Sephiroth. So yeah, his death notes pointed me in the right direction, if he was quiet I wouldn't be able to know with such certainty.

The person telling everyone I wasn't mafia was town. No one even for a second doubted Shawna for the longest time and he was even getting healed and vested. Don't give me that bullshit. Hell I may have been part of Shawna being found out as framer, but I doubt it. Peter seemed to know that ahead of time.
Anyway, there's no "Oh he must be town" or "he must be mafia" in these games. You cannot take anything at face value because simple shit like a fake sheriff telling people who's clean and not clean.

I think Soul of the Beast should be 8-10 points whereas I think Yuffie is pretty much just a super survivor that can heal itself at night, and I don't see any reason to treat it any differently from the Benign Neutrals.

Talking about secondary objectives, i must say that they are not balanced in terms of difficulty. For example, Cult Leader secondary obj was next to impossible to achieve under normal circumstances, while the journalist was extremely easy. The others stand somewhere in between. We could say that in this game, all the 2nd obj winners did quite good overall, and thus may deserve the 3 points. In future FMs, if we take into account the ranking system, secondary objectives should be conceived with that in mind.
Also a clarification: your objective, lunavium, was to kill RP female characters, not account names. In particular, Aeris, Yuffie, Elena and Tifa had to die. This was also fairly hard to achieve, probably the second hardest after CL's, which was to win the game without losing a single cultist.
As for other objectives... without looking at the worksheet i remember lookout and detective sharing the same, masons had to kill 1 cultist AND recruit 1 citizen, doctor had to prevent 1 death AND prevent 1 cult recruit (thus jaret wouldn't have achieved it regardless of philie blocks), Sephiroth's was to use the Black Materia at least once... and i can't remember the others.

cult leader's secondary objective should be something like cult at least three different factions together.

I suppose the Journalist one could have been "Do not interview any Mafia roles", although that isn't very creative (and considering Janice and Shawna were interviewed the first 2 nights it's a good thing it wasn't the objective for this game!)

I honestly think that the journalist should have just been worked into the game mechanics, rather then made into an actual role.

I think the journalist is a good role and would love to see it in future games. It's pretty much just a super citizen, but there's nothing wrong with that at all.

Mechanicly, the journalist is a sound role. However in practice it just isn't all that interesting, I feel it would be much more interesting as a mechanic that say picks a random power role (including neutrals/mafias) and allows them to write an article for the newspaper, or just one newspaper and several articles in that newspaper that are completely anonymous to be revealed at the start of each day.
It's rather boring for the user to just pick a person and hope that the target has something worth saying, what IS interesting is actually writing the document and hoping it has your desired effect, by taking out the boring part you have something that is truely interesting. Hopefully anyways.....

So I was thinking while I was walking the dog. I had this brilliant idea for FM anonymous names. The idea goes like this: each name is closely related to one player in forum mafia. Some examples could be these:
MileS -> KilometerS
Philie -> Filly
Yayap -> Yipyap
Zack -> Zombie (like in World War Z)
Goonswarm -> Forever a Goon
oops_ur_dead -> on_purpose
Elixir -> Poison
Zane -> Insane
SimpleFigment -> Complicated
and so on
This would be really fun because each of these people have personalities that would add another element to the game.

These names would not go to the people whose names were based on. It would be random. So Yayap could get the name of "Poison". Some unlucky bastard would get "Yipyap".
