The hot blood of the rebels led them into a killing euphoria. After having seen the explosion at Hojo’s lab, they knew that victory was at hand. They felt it so close... so much, that they became inebriated with it, they lusted for more blood, blood of their enemies.
The crowd went on a rampage. They didn’t even care anymore who was their target, they just wanted to execute someone in the name of justice. Some people drew out their gun and started shooting to the sky in frenzy. Shinra, the Turks and Sephiroth were pleased to see Midgar in chaos, dominated by the evil nature lurking inside every one of them.
One word. One word was enough for them to put a person to death. It was not Warren’s lucky day... he was only guilty of being at the wrong place, at the wrong time. He was defenseless and disarmed, but they didn’t care. All of the people in the main square charged blindly at him, kicking and punching like enraged animals, until Janice smashed poor Warren’s head with a rock.
It was too late, even for the strongest healing magic, when they found out he was only a citizen, albeit one of the most wealthy in Midgar.
Shortly after, they noticed Warren was not the only body lying on the ground. Carson had been shot in the back of his head with a high-caliber gun, whose noise was covered by the feasting people. Everyone was afraid they had killed another innocent, but when they checked his house in Sector 5, they found an entire wardrobe filled with female Turks uniforms, as well as some nasty sex toys in his dresser.
Warren’s role was: Citizen!
