Interestingly enough, this is the second time I've neglected to make a last will, but I think it helps me in this case, since I'm pretty sure Deirdre is a cultist, and I was culted before I died.

Not that it makes too much difference, but apparently my misinformation has started to work, everyone is assuming that Shinra didn't kill night 1 but we did. I think it's probable that a roleblocker has found the Turk's preferred murderer, or they've gotten unlucky with vests/doc heals (though since someone visited you whilst in Jail Riley that could easily have been them too).

Oh this is an interesting turn of events. We Red Mafia had our suspicions about Katherine, iirc our GF even suspected some code flowing between them.

Since the Shinra were confirmed on Erika's kill though, then the Turks may be seeing what we were seeing (oh how I wish I could go back and read our night chat).

Not only is Katherine not Shinra btw, but Shinra is indeed now comprised of Godfather, Consigliere and Janitor.

Oh and one other thing - we controlled the newspaper night 1, we were hoping to word it so that the Journalist would keep coming back, and use our Consigliere to help us out some of the power roles/Turks.

I think this is a pretty good call. I think he's acting with the security in knowing that he has the ability to confirm himself as Town if it ever came to it. Possibly a Jailor with a code word, or a Mason.

By the way I hope the Journalist doesn't make more stupid interviews. He may have interviewed a Mafia night 1 but there's little reason to interview a revealed Sheriff (okay he might be trying to analyse what Shawna writes down, but you can use that to a much better advantage with other targets).

Deidre is drawing WAY too much attention trying to pursue the way she is. Lucinda's post made me giggle but it only looks smart because of the info we have xD No one else is claiming attacked, no one is claiming they didn't give her a vest, no doc is claiming anything otherwise. You can only tell so much about a person based on what they say, I think Lucinda is trying to encourage claims - is Lucinda possibly a Turk? Given the troubles that the Turks have had getting a kill they may be trying to decide whether or not it's worth going after Katherine again.

Deidre heavily suspected, bad for Shinra bad for cult. Cult leader getting attention. Erika heavily pointed the finger at Deidre, was an investigator, and got culted/killed the same night :P Not saying that this is all luck-based, but it sure hasn't been the hardest game for Town so far.

I'm hoping for a Sephiroth win now actually, I genuinely can't take a guess at who it is right now and I have a soft spot for neutrals :)

I mean, really. Sephiroth killed Cloud the first damn night. That might have been his storyline objective for all we know. (to kill Cloud). I don't want Sephy to win precisely because (s)he killed me first. I may have been neutral but I like to have a definite side in mafia. Since I can't communicate with the mafia or cult I have to side with town. They would lynch me if I claimed amnesiac if the mafia didn't kill me first. I've been neutral twice now (both times amnesiac) I want to have a REAL power role. Not one that depends on others to die first in order to have some chance at winning.

Well maybe not Amnesiac then ^^ But I love being a neutral killing role. As Town you're under pressure to analyse and root out the scum. As Mafia there's much less pressure, but you have to work as a team. As a neutral killing role... you're just kind of a maverick, making mildly intelligent killing choices but mostly just doing your thing, not expecting to win but having fun. Sometimes that's just the kind of break you need from this kind of game. Though in this game, despite Sephiroth and his awesomeness, I think the role I most wanted was to be Yuffie - a really great role idea.

Hmm Doc can only save Omar or Shawna. Either Cult or Mafia will probably go for one or the other - I think they'd be silly not to, even if other targets are lower risk they know that George doesn't have a vest so they're both vulnerable tonight.

This is where Deidre should split it up, have the Cult go for Omar and have Shinra kill/clean Shawna if she can be persuasive enough.

I think Jaret at least did enough to make some of his accusers suspicious. Quite frankly I think some people made the accusation too complex by involving such high levels of WIFOM and analysing his words far too closely and pedantically. It's easy to slip away from that, especially short-term. It will be interesting to see if he is actually a Citizen and whether the Masons will bother.

The worst thing that could happen is that Sephiroth has a no-kill night because of this situation. After some thought this seems improbable for this 1 reason: Sephy will want that DOUBLE AWESOME KILL!

Alright, I'm more inclined to hear what Glen has to say for himself.

Here's what we know about Glen. He was happy go lucky on day 1. This is mostly irrelevant, but it fits. He had the life element on day 1. This is the same tactic that Jack used to reveal his role as doctor. Glen made a shady claim as doctor on day 1. Here's the suspicious part: Yesterday he changed it to Holy. Lionel's dying words were "Noelle is Mason/cultist". Holy seems to be an interesting theme for the Masons since Riley also used that as a citizen to try and get mason. Riley's avatar was a compass and signature was a squared number. The symbols of the Mason are the Compass and the square. That makes him somewhat suspicious, but the best part is that he's voted almost every person accused and is one of the first to vote and first to remove vote. He's wishy washy.

All of that together makes me think he is the Consig. Michael doesn't seem as interested in the game and generally seems like a citizen to me.

I'm not saying to check or not check him, but I'm saying keep an eye on him for now.

When discussion simmers down I'll have notes that I can reveal, but I won't be overwriting discussions with accusations that interrupt the current flow.
And with that, I am 97% sure he is jailor.

I'm starting to think that most of the regular posters are all anti-town in some way - a lot of discussion is being fuelled by misdirection and actively trying to put the blame on someone else. A lot of blame is also being thrown around by asking someone else 'well what do you think of them?'.

Seriously though Deirdre what an absolute fail-day. There are more subtle ways of defending yourself than resurrecting old suspicions in quotes over, and over, and over again.

God that was a lot of text to read through. I think George may be a citizen, but a citizen that is not only trying wayyyy too hard to be intelligent but also arrogant of his own abilities. He's playing against the Mafia, he's not playing with the Town.

They ARE alive and if they won't put much effort into the game. They just sheep around until they die. Then they go incommunicado until the next FM starts up. Then they signup in the hopes that they get a "fun" role. Those that get citizen start sheeping as soon as the game starts. It makes me cringe inside. I say that if I ever host a FM I will not allow people who have become bored with citizen. If you cannot play as the most basic role and help the town then you shouldn't be expected to perform some crazy shit out there with some awesome roles. Those citizens make or break a town's game. Take the last FM for example. The citizens, for the most part were lurking for most of the days, always went with the bandwagon, etc.. The town only lost because the scum made a few mistakes that brought the game to a jailor's gambit. Town did not deserve that win. If I ever get a citizen as my role, I would like to play it like how Riley played. That is what citizens should do. They should take the bullet for the power roles. They should not ask in huge letters to be mason'd. That doesn't help the masons or the town in any way. I want to see a FM in which all citizens are acting like they have night actions so that the scum will kill them instead of the power roles. That would be the ideal game. I am SO happy I'm dead right now. There's so much bitching and triple-guessing. I take back what I said, I don't think many of the active people are citizens; I think they're ALL scum, trying to misdirect the lynch onto anyone but themselves :P

I admire the people that go into a massive amount of depth and analysis with their notes stretching back hundreds of posts, but I think there's some extremes which are being reached here. I really wouldn't want to be in the middle of all this.

Now I admit my play was highly questionable, but at least the bandwagon mostly jumped me because the only evidence the Town had was a Sheriff claiming me as guilty. All of my Red Mafia teammates have been named exactly right, including their own specific role, multiple times - based on absolutely nothing but their talk, on the surface at least (god knows what's actually happening).

I'm not sure why Katherine is playing like she is. I think I understand her positioning; she knows that there are multiple Town leaders which won't hesitate to quote a single line of text you wrote 3 or 4 days ago, and she's trying to establish herself as anti-scum. Her connections with Deirdre have exposed Shinra after all. Now normally I think a Cult Leader would be happy to have the Mafia as allies, and would welcome a Consigliere and Godfather into her ranks at some point (a couple of safe, confirmed non-masons/etc. with useful abilities for targets later in the game).

Can't blame her for just writing them off though, looks like Katherine thinks they'll be a liability and is severing any connection with them.

I think the Town is screwed at the moment. They're not in sync with each other at all. We've got people who are trying to play a complex weaving meta-game, lying for the sake of it so Mafia won't go for them. Then there are the people which are trying to play a more logical game, acting on evidence and being more cautionary. They think the first lot of townies are scum because, well, they look scummy with all their lying. The first lot of townies then have to explain their intentions, making them meaningless, then accuse the second group because they're 'not playing town roles properly' and are ruining their 'town strategy' - all of which forces the roleclaims we've seen. Then we get the third group of townies (the ones which just start angrily attacking anyone that posts anything, and then it becomes personal).

I'd criticise the system more but, well, Red Mafia has been pinpointed and screwed over so I'm guessing that others have as well.

I think there's too much fascination with COM identities. For starters they can't be verified - for another, they're pretty useless unless you know what role your target currently is... which is kinda the whole point.

Knowing that the person you played in the last FM acted a certain way as a Citizen... does that actually help? You have nothing to compare it to. He might act the same way as Mafia. If that person is currently a SK and he's acting differently to how he has in the past as a Citizen, well, it doesn't help because there's an entirely different context to events.

Btw Riley you played Citizen beautifully - not only did I suspect you were a Town power role with knowledge, but as you know I lied when I said we targeted you for death night 1 because I wanted to discredit any of your claims/results (and even if you did have a Doc or armour or got jailed like you were, it would take another power role to reveal to save you).

Just realised why this Town is so confused. They all feel they need to defend against every single suspicion someone sends their way. They all see anyone who has ignored or not seen these suspicions as scum - the problem is that whilst one person is being suspicious, someone else is being suspicious, so the vote changes. Whilst the spotlight shifts the old targets keep necro-ing old quotes to defend themselves, which is why it ended up the way it did (everyone defending against everyone else).

Hence Lucinda's lynch - she'd noticed that once someone gets an idea that you're scum they don't let go, and that even the best defense is simply temporary. She's claiming Citizen; as Citizen your only real defense is 'I'm Citizen, I have done nothing to anyone and nothing has been done to me'. Which she said. The alternative was to defend herself as a Citizen by... coming up with a list of suspicions about other people and why they're scum? Oh wait, no you can't do that, because that seems to be the proof that someone is scum at this stage.

Lemme see..... Standard chaotic day description, accused of rape, crowd calls me out, I take off wig, I pulled out a gun in a lightning fight.... I see I'm quite clever.....

As for what I had expected:


“Joshua’s” home was not far from where Verna’s body was, a small wooden shack by a lake... There was obvious signs of forced entry as a large hole had been blown in the side of the shack and was visible as the group approached it. The group noticed that water was trickling out of the hole, and from under the door at the front. As they entered the home it was obvious what the cause was… Joshua was sitting in his chair, dead, with a massive glacier protruding his chest, his blood apparently frozen within his veins. The ice was beginning to melt, pouring water all over what was left of the shack. Everything else in the shack was also destroyed: doors off their hinges, photo frames broken and an inside wall had been kicked in.


AscendedOne, on the other hand, was killed very close to morning... while sitting at his table enjoying breakfast his head appears to have been slammed into the table, and a single bullet hole was found in the back of his neck.

Interesting, no doubt they're scheming. I expect they're discussing how to utilize Shinra, Deirdre's probably trying to manipulate them - at this point the Cult basically have 4 members not 2 really. Cult kinda controlling GF/Consig/Janitor combo, sweet.
