I was an auditor. I audited a Mayor. That Mayor turned into a citizen... however, he still had his 4-vote power.

This is the intended behavior. If you wish for Mayor to lose his vote power, make sure "Loses votes if converted" is ON in the save setup.

What I want to know is this:
"If the mayor keeps his votes when converted, can you end up with a Mason Leader with extra votes?"

I'm pretty sure that's what the Grand Master achievement is, being both a Mayor and Mason Leader simultaneously. I double checked achievements with Rev, and I doubt it's saying "Having been Mayor once upon a time, become Mason Leader".

Interesting, this has never crossed my mind before.

It should be noted to the OP, as well, that Auditing a revealed mayor is actually a poor strategy in most cases, even if he DOES lose votes. The greatest strength of mayor is not in his votes, but in his ability to be a confirmed town, and auditing doesn't take that away after he's revealed. Even if the Mayor loses extra votes, he gets the vest AND the ability to be healed by doctors in most setups, and remains a confirmed town.

You can actually recruit an audited mayor into the masons, and eventually get him to be the mason leader. Consolidated power knows no bounds.

Yet if he is audited he must lose all his voting power. Auditor strips him of any power when checking him for his unjust deeds.
