The fifth day underneath Baldur's Gate was one the adventurers welcomed with mixed feelings. The good news was that they had found even more clues that should help in breaching the Inner Sanctum. They felt that they were getting close to accomplishing their goal. Although a good number of their enemies had perished, the day before had been the third time someone was wrongfully accused of malign practices. So far, their judgement had been poor. Another event that caused sour moods was that a trap inside the Dungeon led to the disappearance of Imoen, the diviner.

Haer'Dalis claimed that he'd heard of the spell that made her vanish. It was an arcane incantation known as 'imprisonment.' Alas, the only magic that might bring her back could only be wielded by a powerful mage. And with Skie the enchantress being one of the first to fall, it looked like the expedition was running out of capable arcanists. If there were any left, they had wisely decided to keep their talents hidden for now. Else they might well become a target for those who would do anything in their power to make the expedition's quest a failure.

Montaron searched Imoen's belongings, which she had set aside in case something bad were to happen to her. He grinned widely when he subtly pocketed some of her coin while no-one else was looking. But when he found a roll of parchment in her pack, he tossed it at Jan to read it out loud. He was willing to share words, for words were of little worth to him.
Greetings, my fellow adventurers. If you are reading this, then it seems we failed to solve our puzzle. It was quite difficult, to be sure.

Before I forget, I should give you my list of targets.
N1-Viconia & Anomen
N2- No action (I was busy and forgot to submit one) :(
N3- Safana & Haer-Dalis
N4- Ajantis & Kagain

If I am a spy, my results have been:

N1 - Your target is a traveler with a troubled past. They must be an Amnesiac, Antagonist, Druid or Explorer.

N2 – None

N3 - Your target snoops around for information. They must be a Doppelganger, Harper Agent, Herald or Spy.

N4 – [unknown]

If I am a diviner, my results have been:

N1 - The Obsidian Dagger and the Obsidian Amulet are used together in the same ritual.

A golden amulet adorned with Emerald is worn while performing a ritual that requires a weapon.
-Qara

For the ritual of Destruction, one should wear an amulet adorned with black gemstones. The Ruby amulet is used along with the Crimson Candles.
-Casavir

N2 – None.

N3 - An Obsidian Dagger is used for either the ritual of Evil or the ritual of Retribution, I can’t remember exactly which! I know what to say when I use it though:
“Bhaal strikes unerringly, and where his blades strike, men wither and die. Eventually, all must cease to exist in the Prime. Some more abruptly than others.”
-Neeshka

For the ritual of Destruction, one should wear an amulet adorned with black gemstones. The Ruby amulet is used along with the Crimson Candles.
-Casavir

N4- [unknown]

People I believe to be evil:
Montaron
Tiax
Kagain
Nalia
Ajantis

People I believe to be Adventurers:
Cernd

I wish I has time to say more, but alas, I do not.

Godspeed, my fellow Adventurers

Day 5 will end at this time: http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=0.30+gmt+september+9th+2013

At the back of the great temple lies a humongous graveyard. Aside from an eerie cold breeze that sweeps through the cemetery, a deathly quiet grants it the an atmosphere befitting a place such as this. Many a headstone is unmarked, the cause of which may be that the inscriptions have worn in time, Korgan suggests that it could also be that in a settlement where the Lord of Murder reigns, some victims simply won’t have anyone left to identify them. And even if they had, the survivors may decide for their own safety that they’d be better off not revealing their association with the deceased.

Even so, it’s certain that like most everywhere else in the city, the graves have fallen into ruin. Some headstones are broken or just gone. And there are even some graves that are open, revealing the bones of those buried.

The group is suddenly alarmed by a wail the breeze carries to them from somewhere closeby. Despite Alora’s urging that they should probably leave this place as soon as possible, they go to investigate where it came from. It is heard again another time, louder as the adventurers close in, but then no more.

In the darkness, Coran almost stumbles over an old shovel sticking out of the barren soil. Beside it stands a headstone that remains whole, apart from a few small cracks in its surface. Atop the grave, which seems undisturbed, lies the skeleton of a human, the fingers of his or her bony hands clutching an obsidian dagger and a hand mirror with a frame of ivory. Garrick reads the words inscribed on the headstone out loud:

“You did not see the grand scheme of things.
You heard, but did not listen.
Now you lie here.
Soon with none to remember you.
We all are pawns in life and in death.
Even I.
Even you.”

When they finish, the wail is heard again. This time much closer. And it’s only now that the group spots the figure that has been observing them. It is a young man clothed in dark robes, like those of a monk or priest. His hood is off, and he is staring at the adventurers with a pair of black beads for eyes. The man’s translucency suggests that he must be a ghost of some kind. And while his appearance is somewhat menacing, it does not look like he’s an immediate threat.

Valygar clears his throat and asks “who are you, spirit?” But the apparition does not reply.

“Is this your grave?” tries Yoshimo as they point towards the headstone of which the inscriptions were just read aloud.

It takes a moment for the spectre to reply, though a few moments later his lips part and a hollow “NO.” emanates from his mouth.

The Answer.

Ammon found a tome in the library that revealed the true teachings of Bhaal. The tome also explained how to resurrect Bhaal. Ammon realized that Grobnar, the high priest, was a false member of the cult of Bhaal. In fact, Grobnar was a follower of Cyric, along with Sand. They both followed a God other than Bhaal. Grobnar was in fact an Avatar of Cyric. Thus, he sought to destroy the cult of Bhaal, and thus in doing so support Cyric. Ammon revealed to Bishop what he had discovered. Bishop was worried Ammon would put himself in danger for this. Bishop also thought it was the right thing to do to report all of this to Grobnar. Bishop went to Grobnar and told him what Ammon had told him. Bishop additionally plead for Ammon's life. Grobnar promised Ammon's life would be safe, and also gave Bishop a reward of money for telling Grobnar. Grobnar locked Ammon in the library later and set a fire. This fire destroyed the tome with the information about Bhaal, and killed Ammon. Sand later told Bishop of these events in the first of two conversations between Bishop and Sand alone. Bishop killed the other members of the cult after Sand told him what had transpired, specifically Qara, Elanee, Casavir, Neeshka, and Khelgar. These killing were done in-between two conversations with Sand, and were done by Bishop for their responsibility in the death of Ammon. Bishop took Ammon's body along with a shovel, obsidian dagger, amulet, and the mirror to the graveyard. Bishop then buried Ammon in the graveyard using the shovel. Bishop wrote the inscription we saw onto the headstone. Bishop then cursed himself with the mirror, and stabbed himself in the heart with the dagger to commit suicide, along with slitting his throat. The cursing occurred due to the injuried caused by the dagger in addition to wielding the mirror. Bishop also buried the amulet in the graveyard in order to hide it. Bishop's last words were of regret and apologies to Ammon for what he had done. Bishop then became a ghost, as the result of cursing himself. Bishop hopes for atonement by helping us realize these events. Cursing oneself with the mirror causes one to become a ghost after death. The amulet was buried with Ammon.

What was the puzzle? We had a lateral puzzle with Q&A. Like the one where a guy suicides after tasting soup.

Also, don't feel bad about the mislynches. I feel we would have definitely lynched a Bhaalspawn already if they weren't lynch immune.

On the fence about revealing.

Although the Eldercity by itself may qualify to be named a dungeon by adventuring folk, these deep pits and lightless holding cells that were carved right out of the cavernous rocks truly honour such a name. This must have been where prisoners were kept.

Inside the guardhouse, which the group passes through to reach the dungeon, stands a table which has had fifteen squares cut into its surface with a knife. There’s also a small weapon rack that still holds an old warhammer. Down below, there are fifteen cells in total. And before long, Jan discovers that text has been carved into the walls of each. Each of them have a strange assortment of questions, some of which refer to the group with which you came.

1 – Three zombies are feasting on the brains of all the people in the dining hall. How many dead bodies are there in the dining hall?
A: 6
B: 5
C: 8
D: 7

2 – How many attunements can the shadow adepts perform each night?
A: 0
B: 1
C: 2
D: 3

3 – What is the answer to question twelve?
A: B
B: C
C: A
D: D

4 - Assuming no suicides are committed and no heartwarders exist, what is - in theory - the maximum number of expedition members that could die on the second night?
A: 16
B: 10
C: 35
D: 36

5 – What is the next question with the same answer as this one?
A: 6
B: 7
C: 8
D: 9

6 – Gnomes only work in
A: Groups of 2
B: Groups of 3
C: Groups of 5
D: Groups of 7

7 – Did you submit an answer to question eleven?
A: YES
B: YES
C: YES
D: YES

8 - The only odd numbered question with answer A is...
A: Question 15
B: Question 5
C: Question 3
D: Question 13

9 - Assuming the expedition fails one night puzzle and all roles - living or dead - are unique at the time, how many expedition members could in theory receive clues in their feedback on that night?
A: 5
B: 6
C: 7
D: 8

10 - The number of questions preceding this one with the same answer as this question is:
A: 1
B: 2
C: 3
D: 4

11 – Did you submit an answer to question seven?
A: NO
B: NO
C: NO
D: NO

12 – What is the answer to question three?
A: B
B: A
C: D
D: C

13 – How many additional members joined the expedition on the first day in Baldur’s Gate on top of the number that was originally planned to set foot in the Eldercity?
A: 1
B: 2
C: 3
D: 4

14 - The answer to questions thirteen and fifteen are how many letters apart?
A: 0
B: 1
C: 2
D: 3

15 – It takes how many gnomes to put out the chandelier in the dining hall?
A: the number of A’s
B: the number of B’s
C: the number of C’s
D: the number of D’s

“Our coming was prophesied!” Nalia calls out in ecstasy.

Xzar rolls with his eyes. “Or some mysterious stranger is pulling pranks on us. Speaking of which... has anyone seen where they went?”

Although the thought troubles the group for a short while, it doesn’t take long for them to devote their attention elsewhere. The questions on the walls are to be read more closely. So far, it cannot be denied that solving the local mysteries has at least provided some insights into the way the Inner Sanctum might be opened. So maybe this locale holds some information as well.

I don't think it's possible for 36 to die. IIRC, the game started off with 37 people.
There are 4 roles immune to night deaths until sanctum is sealed. Unless sanctum is unsealed Night 1 (wtf?), it's impossible.

FM Yeslick
September 6th, 2013, 06:44 PM
My reasoning was that the inclusion of zombies and then asking for "number of dead bodies" would be to confuse people as to whether or not zombies counted as dead bodies. That means your choice will be either n, or n +/- 3. The only two answers within 3 of each other were 5 and 8. And zombies are obviously dead bodies so...8.

I think it is 35 actually. Imagine if we had all fighters then for sure that is 13 possible kills in a night. If shadow adepts got 2 attunements out each and they hit eachother there is another 6. Cult can kills. Although what is a bunch of people visited a half-dragon?

My reasoning was that the inclusion of zombies and then asking for "number of dead bodies" would be to confuse people as to whether or not zombies counted as dead bodies. That means your choice will be either n, or n +/- 3. The only two answers within 3 of each other were 5 and 8. And zombies are obviously dead bodies so...8.

Imoen thought Zombies were undead and thus not dead. We asked for clarification. Bhaal and Cespenar refused.

Imoen thought 36 was the answer but couldn't generate an answer where 36 die, so she went along with my answer of 35. Also, we were clearly allowed to have the sanctum open. The setup in question 4 was not intended to be the game's actual setup.

4 and 14 were the hardest. I thought 14 referred to either replacements or Bhaal expanding the setup.

I so freaking hate that puzzle. It was ridiculous. Half the answers are interdependent.

Our group decided that we had to get the puzzle right tonight, or it would be pointless.

We decided either someone we trust would solve the puzzle or we would use the puzzle as a lynch. Not trusting the clue would be very bad for the group. We decided that we could crack the puzzle and Imoen volunteered. I only started volunteering when I was worried Imoen would die.

I think it is 35 actually. Imagine if we had all fighters then for sure that is 13 possible kills in a night. If shadow adepts got 2 attunements out each and they hit eachother there is another 6. Cult can kills. Although what is a bunch of people visited a half-dragon?

You can get a bunch of kills by opening the sanctum night 2, having all the active roles visit the half-dragon but that still leaves 3 non-movers (assassins wouldn't know to move). You'd have two neutral killers to kill 3 non movers.

As a general rule, if you have a fighter kill one of the explorers, you have to make sure the fighter dies by some other method.

I'm thinking that, if the jester is lynched on Day 2, that's 7 people dead on night 2 which might be able to cause 36 people's deaths (leading to no people alive for day 3).

Back after a good break, and super glad I am still alive (and also that the puzzle was correct yeahhhhhhhhhhhhh)

Here are mah hints!!!

The amulet with Emeralds is worn by the avenger in the ritual of Death

Neither the ritual of Evil nor the ritual of Death is performed inside a circle of Crimson Candles. The phrase that is spoken within such a circle contains less than 35 words.
-Elanee

Also some notes on how our puzzle chat went, edited from last will version since I in fact lived, only concerning the past evening:

A lot of players didn't contribute much. The final day up til the last 2 hours consisted of basically me and Keldorn working on it. Ajantis was acting trolly and I felt he was trying to derail us (we asked the ghost questions, he answered them for the ghost and told us he had things worked out, told us he would explain the solution if we voted him). I proposed a working solution and a number of players immediately jumped in voting for me. When I called this behavior out in the last hour some of the votes were retracted, and various players proposed the solution as well. There were offers to send Alora with no solution in my stead, and then a few others volunteered to send my proposal in the event we weren't confident. I ended up sticking with the final edited version made during the final minutes. I'll go back through and grab names or someone else can later, I don't want to wade through all of that now though.

Korgan is acting up quite a bit, but I'm starting to think he's a butthurt explorer who wishes he had a better/"more fun" role. He slips in words of insight every now and then showing he clearly knows what's going on, but he isn't getting a chance to capitalize on it cus all he can do is talk.

Keldorn worked quite hard as well to solve the puzzle. I worked my butt off and then some getting that puzzle solved, so I'm incredibly glad the solution turned out correct. I'm pretty sure we figured out some necessary elements in the last 15 minutes of the night lolz.

Shar-Teel apparently has a town-like master. And something is irking me now that i think about the question. I already said in our night chats that this is probably a way for it to be all 36 because it sounds like a chess problem i once heard where it was possible to have 32 pieces or something all on the board without attacking each other. The only way it was possible was for a pawn promotion, yet i quickly got glazed over when i gave that type of thinking, Thinking further and looking back we kept saying the sanctum was opening night 1. We never looked at it opening night 2. Everything seems to click when its too late....

However i think us debating on it right now is a waste of time and should focus on the main puzzle

Destruction: Onyx Amulet, Bramble Branch,
“The Broken Ones weep tears of blood in our moment of triumph. For when their hallowed halls crumble to dust, even they lack the strength to resist the darkness of the void inside of their hearts.”

Evil: Obsidian Amulet, Obsidian Dagger,
“Bhaal strikes unerringly, and where his blades strike, men wither and die. Eventually, all must cease to exist in the Prime. Some more abruptly than others.”

Retribution: Ruby Amulet, Crimson Candle,
“From serf or foe, for justice or revenge, tis all the same. When the threads of mortality are shattered and carnage bestowed from one mortal upon another, honour is brought to our Lord.”

Death: Golden Amulet with Emerald, I smash the Skull of a Man with my Warhammer and chant:
"Our Lord shall return.
It has been written.
The wicked shall burn.
The righteous are smitten.
Ammon the wicked.
Betrayer of Bhaal.

Clues and items I used

Rituals: Destruction, Evil, Retribution, Death
Amulets: gold with emerald, onyx, ruby, Obsidian
Items: Obsidian dagger, Warhammer, Crimson Candles, Bramble Branch
Misc: Skull of a Man,
Chants:
(33) “From serf or foe, for justice or revenge, tis all the same. When the threads of mortality are shattered and carnage bestowed from one mortal upon another, honour is brought to our Lord.”
“The Broken Ones weep tears of blood in our moment of triumph. For when their hallowed halls crumble to dust, even they lack the strength to resist the darkness of the void inside of their hearts.”
“Bhaal strikes unerringly, and where his blades strike, men wither and die. Eventually, all must cease to exist in the Prime. Some more abruptly than others.”

A golden amulet adorned with Emerald is worn while performing a ritual that requires a weapon.
-Qara

For the ritual of Destruction, one should wear an amulet adorned with black gemstones. The Ruby amulet is used along with the Crimson Candles.
-Casavir

An Obsidian Dagger is used for either the ritual of Evil or the ritual of Retribution, I can’t remember exactly which! I know what to say when I use it though:
“Bhaal strikes unerringly, and where his blades strike, men wither and die. Eventually, all must cease to exist in the Prime. Some more abruptly than others.”

“From serf or foe, for justice or revenge, tis all the same. When the threads of mortality are shattered and carnage bestowed from one mortal upon another, honour is brought to our Lord.”
-Khelgar

The following words are best said before the altar of Destruction.
“The Broken Ones weep tears of blood in our moment of triumph. For when their hallowed halls crumble to dust, even they lack the strength to resist the darkness of the void inside of their hearts.”

Do not accompany these words with the wrapping of a Bramble Branch around your forearm, for that would be heresy.

Are we sure what Grobnar said is one of then necessary phrases? The other phrases were posted with quotes, there might be a chance a ritual does not need a phrase, or else we don't have the necessary phrase yet.

brb in a sec, but our puzzle revealed a lot concerning backstory. Ammon is a goodguy, Grobnar is actually a follower of Cyric, so I sincerely doubt Grobnar's entire phrase is a chant for Bhaal. Maybe the first half, but the second half is very anti-Bhaal with our current knowledge...

-----------------------

The following words are best said before the altar of Destruction.
“The Broken Ones weep tears of blood in our moment of triumph. For when their hallowed halls crumble to dust, even they lack the strength to resist the darkness of the void inside of their hearts.”

Do not accompany these words with the wrapping of a Bramble Branch around your forearm, for that would be heresy.
-Sand

The Obsidian Dagger and the Obsidian Amulet are used together in the same ritual.

A golden amulet adorned with Emerald is worn while performing a ritual that requires a weapon.
-Qara

---------------

The High Priest is a blight on our place of worship. He knows not of what he speaks. Everything he teaches us - his disciples - about the rites is the opposite of what it should be. He makes a mockery of our faith and I won’t stand for it. All they tell is lies. Bishop is the only one worthy of trust. Our God may have fallen, but he shall rise to depose this trickster that calls himself Cyric. Tomorrow I shall bring about the charlatan’s demise and take the reins to set things right, so we may prepare for His return...

I think we may have the main puzzle solved, but my gut feeling said we're either missing a phrase or there's no phrase for the fourth ritual (death).

The mirror was for cursing the ghost so he became a ghost.

Ajantis's posted clue did include a name "Bishop" which was necessary for our puzzle, but was otherwise useless. I don't think he faked it, but I think he withheld something. Either way he's acted scummy (such as derailing our puzzle chat).

My attempted solution assumed that the "No Bramble Branch while chanting Broken Ones" was BS like the High Priest's teachings.

I'm almost positive Grobnar's clue is a chant. Who the hell talks like that? It even has a rhyme scheme.

We have so far:

4 amulets
4 items
3 phrases + 1 action

We do not have any actions beyond "Crush skull of man with the warhammer"

Might it be the action substitutes for the phrase with the ritual of death? Since that's also the one most important to Bhaal as he is the God of murder?

"
Raise your warhammer and crush the Skull of a Man. This is done in the ritual of Death. When performing this ritual, never speak the following words.
“From serf or foe, for justice or revenge, tis all the same. When the threads of mortality are shattered and carnage bestowed from one mortal upon another, honour is brought to our Lord.”

4 rituals (Death, Evil, Retribution, Destruction)
4 amulets (Onyx, Obsidian, Ruby, Emerald)

3 phrases ("Broken", "serf", "Prime")

No, it's saying you should never speak those words. That implies nothing on what should be said if at all. That would also make sense if it one should not speak at all during that ritual, and instead should remain silent and just crush the skull of man.

The chant could also be that phrase you say whenever you kill someone for Bhaal maybe?

Reasons I don't believe you:

1) You can just flee today. Prophet won't bother culting you. In fact they are happy with your lies on Viconia.

2)

Doppelganger (Disguiser)
At night, may select a target to mimic. The Doppelganger will attempt to kill his target (-1).

If successful, will steal his target’s identity (his account and that of his target are swapped).

Special:
3 charges.
One night between mimicking.
Cleans role and last will.
Learns target’s original role.
Can infiltrate Cult and Harper night chats, appearing with the identity of the person they’re mimicking.

Can’t access night chat archives
Can't use death notes
Lynch immunity (if inner sanctum is sealed)
Night kill immunity (if inner sanctum is sealed)
Gains 1 charge auto-vest after killing a Bhaalspawn

3) Prophet knew that Jan was an Assassin. Why recruit Jan?

4) Arcane Trickster knew that Jan was an Assassin. Why drug Jan?

Lol what is this, there's no way that many evil roles were all thrown together. I'd argue Jaheira/Kagain, one is town power one is prophet mayhaps? Was the earlier consensus Prophet would convert from his own puzzle chat the first night in case his convert dies to traps?

FM Branwen
September 7th, 2013, 04:09 AM
I claimed explorer last night, and tried to be the puzzle solver since it was a bit iffy. Shar-teel did most of the work on the puzzle, but most of it was very confusing and didn't sound right at all, then she practically set up Imoen to force her to solve it without being 100%. Near the end of the night when no one was around she tried to pretend to get enough votes for her to do it to "save Imoen" but that was like 3 hours before voting was over.

I am pretty sure she is cult now, either cult all along or is a student of the cult.

Jan's claim of drugged makes no sense. We have the AT dead. Somehow the cult gains a second AT but no logical scenario makes sense for them to do so. There are not two bus drivers at n1 due to the lack of bussed drives day 2. So, the cult could not have converted the second AT. The quartermaster, which seems to be the obvious solution, cannot add a role that already exists. So there is no way Jan was drugged tonight not to mention the AT knew who the Prophet was converting. That only happens if they were heartbound.

Ajantis, want me to grab the posts that show I was trying to save Imoen?

Aerie, Safana has limited charges. Testing that is a bad idea when she can just come back later when he is certainlt not immune.

Jan said he was a replacement upon entry. That I believe. Everything else is wifom.

10. Will Doppelganger(Disguiser) charges be used up regardless of success?
No.

Legit intelligent strategy.

Nalia and I confirmed that what Jan said is possible.

And I welcome any evidence. Though I'm not sure posts are necessary or allowed. A detailed summary of events should be sufficient.

How do you get two Arcane Tricksters? Jan said he was drugged last night (if I was wrong in his understanding so be it), but that means the cult had two Arcane Tricksters. Explain to me how the cult had a second arcane trickster when Sarevok is in the graveyard and I'll back off.

He said he got it night 2 when the AT was still alive.

FM Shar-teel

I tried to suggest I do the puzzle since it was not 100% confirmed true, but Shar-teel was adamant Imoen did it.

So you were a cleric who lied a lot yesterday and now your an explorer : /

The Prophet has opened your eyes and revealed to you your destiny. A tide of blood is coming, but you were one of the chosen disciples who shall see to the return of Bhaal, Lord of Murder.

The faithful are:

FM Yoshimo
FM Nalia
FM Garrick
FM Haer-Dalis
FM Cernd
FM Mazzy
FM Kagain

From mimicking your target, you have learned that they were a Assassin.

I feel like that the AT tried to put atleast 2 cults in there. He put Mazzy since we all knew she was evil. Then I am guessing there is atleast 1 more cult in that list.

So if there is a 2nd one I am guessing it is Kagain or Garrick. Although he could have just put Mazzy on the list to make it seems legit, but idk.

I won't follow lynch on Shar-teel, it is baseless. Propher has no reason to recruit her, he would like to wait with it until he can manipulate her.

I guess we can force her to take confirmed Town role (like mine), but when her master dies she will have to be checked immediately. We don't want to have a Heartwarder, so some other role would be prefered.

Who did you put in the heartwarden chat last night?

Just woke up, lot of stuff to recap

No, there is definitely a chant for Death.
-Khelgar

This clue tells you what chant to NOT speak, meaning there is a chant you have to speak.

I do not think this is evidence that there is a chant to speak. Given the remarks I've seem from bhaal thus far I could easily see him saying that while there being no chant for death.

Nah. I'm not giving you shit or giving the Necromancer satisfaction.
He's already wasted one night, if he wants to waste a second by burning me, then he can go ahead.

Yay, a pause. I'll just post this so there can be some discussion done about it.
Safana, why the reveal? As Nalia said, what about the Necromancer? Here's the whole thing. Have fun with the bullshit.
Either way, I doubt the Necromancer will bother burning me tonight considering the reveal.

Montaron then went on to do exactly as the necromancer asked.
Why the sudden reversal? Why do the necromancers bidding once you believed he wouldn't be able to kill you?

Because Bhaalspawns are nightkill immune. Jan is telling us that he was nightkill immune role who got killed at night.

Maybe safana wanted to test if Jan was night immune or not.

I agree with Aerie on this, it allows Safana to learn more without using up a disguise should Jan be telling the truth. Jan wasn't telling the truth and Safana killed a scum in the process.

I have some issues with Khalid's clue. It seems way too convenient that yesterday I accused Haer'dalis of switching name of Ritual and today Khalid receives clues confirming Haerie's story.

The thing is we get contradiction before Keldorn's clues come into action. We know that Safana's and Viconia's clues are legit, so Bramble Branch has to go with Onyx Amulet. Both Khalid and Haer'dalis clues mean that Branch has to go with destruction, but this contradicts Sand's clue.

Sure, Sand is apparently heretic and jester, but why one of his clues is legit and other is not? Sigh. We have nothing new today and we tried some possible solutions, I wonder why Inner Sanctum is still closed. We are missing something, perhaps Grobar's chant is not a chant.

Who did you put in the heartwarden chat last night?

I need at least one of those people claim it first. Then I will give you key for this code:

ahsjomnkvoif

And you can compare it. That way we don't risk smth like "Hey, fellow cult buddy, do you confirm I put you in a heart chat?" "Totally dude and it was totally awesome."

Assuming no suicides are committed and no heartwarders exist, what is - in theory - the maximum number of expedition members that could die on the second night?
A: 16
B: 10
C: 35
D: 36

It's C or D, but I have no idea what has to happen.

I imagine all 13 PRs are Fighters, killing people. All neutrals are Thieves who visit Explorer, who is Evoker's target (all their vests were wasted n1). 13+5+1 = 19. Two Shadow Adepts manage to attune 2 people each (cult and explorers). 23. And perhaps Thief stole the Dagger, so Cult gets +3 kills (they recruited someone n1 too). 26. And I can't go any further than this.

Also, no one wants to exemplify their towniness by recaping the relevant points of past days for a replacement? It would probably aid discussion even without my presence.

Also, Ajantis, can you tell me why I'm colored red in your list?
