Help with the upcoming expansion

Hi I was just wondering if I only got starcraft 2 wings of liberty and not the heart of the swarm and when legacy of the void comes out will I need to buy heart of the swarm or can I just have WoL and LoV?

as far as my knowlage goes you only need WoL for mafia. i dont think dr has any plans on adding and HoTS or LoV stuff

You probably can have just WoL and LoV. Other RTS games allow any expansion packs to work with the base game, regardless of other expansions.
In case I'm wrong, HotS will probably be like 20 bucks off when LoV in on sale anyways, so just grab it then.

HotS adds nothing useful to us and I don't see LoV adding anything either, so we haven't made the map use either.

I swear if Mafia and Risk both goes for LoV, I'm quitting SC2... too many expansions.. in a short amount of time = broke

Honestly couldnt mafia run on starter edition?
And isnt it Legacy of the Void? So it should be LotV instead of LoV.

I think he is asking whether he can skip Hots and get Lotv, regardless of mafia.

Starter edition is just WoL with blizzard directly locking down most customs, the campaign, and 2 of 3 races. So...kinda?

Ive seen custom arcade maps only require starter edition, its rare but a possibility.

They are maps that have been featured by blizzard. They do a little rotation thing where they have 6 or so arcade maps available for starter edition players.
