in my opinion veteran should not be able to stay on alert indefinetly. regardless of pierce night immunity or not.

heres the reasoning

any town die and put in their last will who they are visiting, veteran becomes a auto confirmed townie, and must be voted off late game by remaining mafia, or neutral killer must win a tie against him.

veteran also simply can not die at night, which is by far the biggest annoyance for any evil role. only scum who can kill a veteran would be a kidnapper. any scum role always dies to a veteran.

if ignores immunity is on, veteran is guaranteed to kill at least one baddie, and possibly all the neutral scum at some point in the game.

overall, veteran is too strong a role to have infinite alerts. and as such the most it should have is 3.
veteran should be changed to remove infinite alerts(and max would stay at 3). or be forced to wait one night between alerts.

Fine as it is. I only see unlimited alerts on very specific setups, people usually limit them to 2 or 3.

And you know, a fellow town power role dying just to confirm someone that will do nothing but alert at night isn't all that great.

Agreed. The most large annoyance is auto-win by having more than one veteran with infinite alerts.

I was once a SK who did quite well, until I met a barrier of 2X infinite-veterans.
Said I was veteran, tried my best for a mislynch and instead the game ended with town winning from voting at the third day of no kills.

Really only trolls do the infinate alert. also the span chance of vets from randoms are low (unless you prefer).. Its accualy quite fun when you are vet with infinate alerts. plus it can also have the opposite affects of killing off towns, also throw in an mm and you already have 2 roles bickering that they are vets

if only trolls do infinite alerts wouldn't that indicate that infinite alerts is a bad thing?

how do you feel about a save with a guaranteed veteran, town power, town killing, 3 town randoms, jailor excluded from power. coroner and citizen excluded from randoms.
veteran with infinite alerts, and pierces immunity.

theres a very high chance for spawning 2 veterans in total and imo 3 vets is around 10%. and they all have pierce immunity and infinite alerts...

which is why imo maf and neutrals should have the right to wifom veterans, and not get hard countered zero chance to get around them.

100% agree with this. Unlimited alerts is just not in the spirit of Mafia. =[

No matter what role i got i would be laughing becasue its a troll save, and theres also a possiblity of the famous leave train with that kind of save. really i dont care if someone does a troll save like that, i find it amusing when people do things like that, its like when someone says "hey lets random lynch" lynch person who said lets random.

plus if there are 2 or more veterans out there the pub games then to not exactly know that there can be up to 3 veterans

It's an issue with the maker of the set-up's you play, you have to wager the possible set-ups that can be made with infinite alert vete against the decrease in OP-vete set-up's you have to play in pubs.

I'd say we keep the infinite alert vete though, I love making set-up's with him at the core.

Not auto comfirmed if last will's are not allowed.

Could perhaps erase the last will of anyone visiting the veteran?

By erasing the LW rather than the role, expect more gamethrower reports.
If changed to clean, auto-confirm when more than one is cleaned.

Problem is that the setup as a whole is bad; not the setting by itself.

Easiest fix is to make it not pierce immunity. Arson then kills vet no problem.

I haven't played in a couple of weeks, but I remember my one of my setups variations having the possibility of a veteran with infinite alerts, and it was quite common that scum would just kill everyone else and then lynch him. Or the typical witch who just uses him as a gun each night. A veteran with unlimited alerts is in no way auto-win for town. Hell, a bad vet can make himself look scummy and end up killing half of town PRs overnight.

There aren't bad roles or bad setup options; there are bad hosts who have little Mafia experience and do what they consider fun, often resulting in the most fucked up setups ever.

The real problem here in my opinion is the possibility of there being more than one. They can't kill each other, so there's no good way for neuts to work around their vote advantage (they won't learn who vets are before the rest of town, so framing them is not a reasonable option). Can unlimited night immune option make vet a unique role if checked? Maybe make them unable to send/read pms (but they still appear to get them) so invinci-vet can't be immediately confirmed and get a role-call.
