Welcome to another instillation of the time favorite Mafia Golden Cup Tournament! As we move towards the starting date of this exciting and rigorous event the sign up slot is ready to be filled up with the signature of brave intellectuals looking for a fresh break from their hum drum lives with classic games of Mafia and the custom saves that have been lost in the archives. It's a test of attrition, manipulation, deduction, and plain ol' luck that leaves many staring in awe at the feats many previous winners have accomplished during the ongoing tournament. Are you going to be the one to lie through your teeth to victory? Or maybe you are looking to backstab your allies in order to take the win for yourself? ○ The Mechanics:
There shall be three brackets with players slotted into them. Each bracket is going to play each game in a rotation previously set by the Tournament Masters. Each game shall have previously set objectives that each player has the opportunity to achieve in order to gain points, outside of their win objective. These objectives have a pre-determined amount of points that shall be awarded upon objective achieved. These points shall be calculated together and the player with the highest amount of points shall be declared the Mafia Master with all the bragging rights that comes with. Its every man out for himself in this no holds bar tournament where only one has the ability to say that they are the Mafia Master of their generation. Lie, cheat, and persuade whomever stands in your way of victory in a land where there is no price for second place. The individual game mechanics have been designed by Slaol and hidden to test each players mettle. Be observant as anything may happen.


○ Setups:
Setup One: An Unsuspected Bloodbash
This setup is one of the most gruesome I have ever set my eyes upon. No matter what way you turn, no matter which alley you stumble down there will always been a different boogeyman waiting to gorge himself upon you. Keep a mind on your feet or you'll find yourself six feet under with no one to shed a tear on your corpse. Can you survive the night?

Setup Two: A Deadly 30 Years
Face off against the Mafia during their own reign of power. Will you submit to their oppression or can you band together to put an end to their long held reign of tyranny? If this weren't enough to fill your nights with terror there is a darker power slumbering beneath the streets of New York City just waiting for the right moment to seize control when everyone least expects it. Its a classic face off between the Citizens of New York, The Ever Brutal Mafia, and A Darker Power where everyone has to be suspicious of the other. Step lightly Citizen, you are not the only benign person that wants something for themselves.

Setup Three: A Week to Forget
With the Mafia destroyed and the Crazy Killers locked up it seemed safe for every Citizen out there in the world. There was no longer any threat to them and they could sleep easy knowing they drove out the evil deeply rooted within their Town. If only that were true. There is a new force of darkness preparing itself for a long siege to power. I hope you are up to the task of finding out just who among you is still in favor of peace and who is in favor of conversions.

It won't be Ranked, exactly, but Prefer and Blacklist are now disallowed.
Use of them will negate the points earned in the game they are used in, as well as your highest point scoring game. This will be your 2nd highest if you use them for your best game.

For individual roles? The decision to add them was that without role (gameplay) achievements then if Town wins we would get a lot of people with the same scores. If this manages to happen in all games then a lot of people will tie. They are less, and basically tie breakers.

If it's a normal Custom Game, it's unfair and stupid: Rushing games, public joins.
That's the point of In House, avoid public and play with the experienced.

This is most likely going to repeat, so screw this.


If this is how the "cup" is how good a player is, it's because the others are ignored and thrown out.

I object that the Cup is legit.
I had a large rant, but here's a TLDR : I was there for a full hour and more with no help or anything whatsoever, I never played a game.

1. No PMs given.
2. No invites given.
3. Those that got in, repeatively got in. No one else could get in once it started.
4. One season and a whole cup done, excluding everyone else. Didn't even take 2 hours.
5. Repeatively going Ranked / Custom, the games has already started and with pubs filling the so called "in houses" super quick so I never saw anyone.
6. A group chat was made for the cup, no one even checks it.
7. PM'd the hosts ingame, received no answer.

I don't really like arguing, but I absolutely hate unfairness and time wasters.
In fact, those that made, hosted and support-helped this all received an automatic spot in this. Most mods have close contact, so they get there whenever they want by contacting them, which ordinary members have no access to.

First off, those that "made, hosted, and supported" this were the same people. You kinda need Slaol in a tournament Sloal is hosting.... The rest of the staff had to /sign and show up at the correct time. We couldn't just message Slaol on skype an hour after it started with "Hey I would like to play, got room?"... Slaol would get Raptor to fire us :P

The lack of respect is the lack of service, guidance and help. I have PM'd the hosts ingame, no answer. I could've received an answer that I'm not permitted to join anymore, so I didn't waste my time.
If you're saying that a Cup is "The first 15 to join is the only players the whole cup" then that's just bad practice if more than 40 had signed.

However, know this: I didn't get to play because the time was too early for me. Not everyone can play because of time. The same thing happened to me last tournament.

Checking it 24 / 7? There's a reason I was off by a hour, I didn't know it was happening at that time and I took the word on "Early Evening in Europe". I casually checked to see when it is, when I discovered it was too late.

There was more that could have been done, namely in Ypmagic's suggestion to post a larger announcement.

I'm not sure why the time didn't work for Boss (what country are you in Boss?), as it did work for me.

One of the issues was that Fred had a life leading up to the tournament, so he could not plan, and I managed to pick one up a few days before hand. Then I thought we would be without Damus for the tournament as well. Life hit us and it limited what we could do. That said, we did wait around for some 20 minutes after the posted time, but could not make everyone wait around another hour for a few more people. We will learn from this and hopefully the next one will be handled a little more fluidly.
