Hey guys! I'd like to adress a big issue right now with this map.

It seems like every single game, at least 2 or 3 people d/c before the countdown is even initiated (they get dropped)

And most of time the it follows with a leave train.

I mean, it's great if you want the suicide hotline! Right now is the best time... But are we expecting battle.net to fix their shit any time soon? I play a lot of other custom games and mafia seems to bug so much. 1 game out of 3, i get stucked loading the lobby and I have to relog. Then an other game out of 1, I get stuck in loading screen and I get sent back to lobby after waiting 5 minute. So i only play 1 game out of 3, it's really annoying.

I've talked to other people in the Gouda and i'm not the only one who's having these issues...

I get a full room most of the time.

from personal experience, 6/10 = totally full (15)
2/10 one or two drop
1/10 more than 2 drop
1/10 I cant connect at all.

i usually drop on load every second game.
and every game I do join, it's either full, or 1-2 drop.

I either find that most of my games are either around 12-14 players, which is personally fine for me. Any lower than that produces a leavetrain (which isn't necessarily bad; you can score easy wins if you roll mafia with other people who stuck around)

lets face it... SC2 is a horrible platform for Mafia...

SC2's way of handling the maps and everything is made to work well for a RTS game... but we are using it for a "text based game" (kinda)... this is why there is so many issues with bank file hacking and everything...

you even have to download the map every time you join and then the map creates the UI for you...

this is why a standalone platform would be awesome... we could have a central database that could store points and bans... there would be no (or at least less) hacking... and the loading time could even be nearly totally removed... maybe even a way to reconnect to a game that you got disconnected from (before the auto-suicide happen)...

This is why i am looking forward to seeing what comes of Town of Salem (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2002718381/town-of-salem)

This sounds about right, but there are also the people who will quit over getting Doctor or something.

I think the topic here was not rather people quit, but more of how a lot of people drop on the loading screen. ^^;

I'm aware, I mentioned that to illustrate how one issue compounds with another. Since you'll usually have one ragequitter, that makes it even more difficult to handle people dropping, hence making dropping even more of a problem.

Same, I took a ticket on this. They want you to buy HoTS to fix the problem because they told me its a WoL problem and they are not patching WoL anymore.

I have HoTS and experience the same problem.
I'm not sure if they aren't patching WoL anymore, but I can assure you that HoTS doesn't guarantee that you won't drop after joining a game.

That said, i don't drop on load every second game. More like 1/10th of the time.

I think TimeTrx was talking about the map, the they wanted the map to be updated to HoTS and not the players.

I can see why a HoTS map could be working differently than WoL map.

And that would mean that EVERYONE would need HoTS just to play SC2Mafia.
