View Full Version : Day 1.5: Where we arrived again?
FM Ferengi
February 24th, 2013, 07:01 AM
The Marine warship have finally landed on the shores of the island. The cheerful villagers went to greet then, only to find out that the ship was already empty. It seems that Marines decided to blend with town in order to prevent from being found out by Pirates early.
On the nothern coast of island was spotted what though to be a whale. But upon seeing closer, they found out that it was actally a submarine! So in addition to Pirate ship and Marine warship, another vessel have arrived on the insand! It must have benn belonged to the rumored group of Goverment agents... Merely a rumor or actual truth?
On this day, several groups have started their hidden war for control in this island. What will happen to the islanders now? Escaping for island is already too late. So the townsfolk have decided to gather on the town square in order to find out what to do next. Wait a second... did all of this happened already? The Grand Line has many interesting phenomena.
Anyway, because of that unknown phenomena town members turned really angry and they decided to put everything into their hands. They thirst for justice or maybe even for blood... someone has to die today!

Good luck and have fun! You can now lynch during Day 1.5. You need a majority of 18 players to lynch a person. If no majority occurs during 48 hours, the day ends without a lynch. Once again, I remind you to use vote tags. By the way, have you enjoyed the last night's show?

Grand Line is scary. I think host would have told us if we cannot discuss about our deja vu. In my memory, all Pirates were one post wonders, all CP9 lurkers, all Marines and Rebels made their presence felt but stayed away from the limelight and finally most Town are active. I'm not happy that Wet Haired Caribou messed up the game and spoiled my role. I suggest that we find that cheat today and lynch him. I think Kidd, Don and Brook are from the same team. They should be investigated tonight.

Not necessarily. I think scum hunting improves as the game goes on regardless of investigative roles because we have more posts and votes to analyze. However I agree that lynching today isn't necessarily a mistake if we can get someone to make an obvious slip.

I kind of agree, I'm trying to comprehend why a PR as important as a Coroner would claim D1 with nothing to reveal. This would put a huge target on their head and would almost certainly get them killed. Unless they considered WIFOM protection, or that they might get a Doc.

Could be a crappy CP9 role like agent trying to get checked by pirates and marines so they don't mess with each other.

Or it could merely have been a troll claim in response to Sanji's remark that everyone would claim Citizen today, just to prove a point by counterexample, and thus would have no real bearing on his true role.
FM Tony Tony Chopper

No one goes near a claimed PR, at least for a few days. They have the confirmed doc, confirmed infiltrator, cits trying to take a bullet/recruit and a possible veteran, bodyguard, lookout and bus driver to worry about. If Big Mom isn't confident in her ability to stay alive without claiming, then it isn't a bad strategy.

I think it's very risky to vote a claimed PR on day 1 because she has a good chance of flipping citizen or veteran, if not the role she claimed. We cannot pressure someone who has already claimed much and I don't think your unlikely theory is enough justification for this vote. You seem a little annoyed that a PR has claimed because like I said earlier this makes it harder for a faction to kill them, not easier.
You hint at being town with your post of no night 0 discussion but I don't think your earlier posts have come from a town perspective or even a neutral perspective that you hint at from the previous game. I'd like to learn more about you so

That still won't end the day when someone is lynched, and will allow us to keep on voting/unvoting/talking until one of the hosts gets on, somehow realizes that hammer vote was reached by manually counting the votes, and then ends the day manually.
Unless that is the intent of the hosts. But I can't find anything anywhere that states whether or not lynches end day.

Apparently, i'm an angel. Or something like that judging from the pictures.
Seeing as how this day is slowly progressing i'll propose my overall game plan for this FM.
Starting from the sheer amount of threat lvl i'll suppose it goes like this:
Pirates - As usual the antagonists top lynch priority
CP9 - The disruptive neutrals collected in 1 bunch this game. Should almost tie with pirates in terms of town threat lvl, seeing how both of them are the hostile "groups"
Neutral Killer - If it isn't the Joker i dno why Fragos would add a role that probably won't see implemented in future FMs. Personally i think he outranks Rebels atm as a threat.
Rebels - Right now they should be the least of our worries. If we can get rid off the pirates they will be forced to cooperate with us.
Marines are generally on the islanders side, that is, unless a lot of islanders get slaughtered and the CP9 stay strong. Even if the main concern should be the pirates, if we let the CP9 get the upper hand and they manage to stay under the radar the Marine faction might reconsider their alliance.
The state of affairs will be critical after N2 imo. By then we should have clear insight on which faction(s) will be the most influential.
I think i got a good guess on how every faction will act and what their strategies will be. I'll probably go into in-depth discussion of that after day 1-2.
Note: Stating that the rebels are relatively harmless to the town is a simple deduction of them being a possible super mason alliance in this game rather than a cult.

How am I twisting your words? I just want you to explain your findings, because, well, they are way too vague.
So it was basically gut feel after considering their statements, right? Well, too bad that I didn't have a debate with anyone yet that could help you to "feel" my alignment.
Show me the posts which make you think that I am a "[REDACTED]" (whatever you have in mind). I have not posted much and usually tried to get a feel for the players.
How is that a valid factor?
Do you see now why I want you to explain your vote further? Because as of now, that is nothing and it's just misleading the town.
Just because you cannot see the logic does not mean it is not there.
Give me 3 hours to do my work and ill come back and explain it for all the inexperienced people.

I disagree, a lynch today would benefit the Town no matter what. Except if it's like a TPR. If it's a scum, fantastic; if it's a Citizen, we can check the voters and hammer voter.
I would like a closer eye on Fire Fist Ace. Chopper seems Town for now.
A citizen could be a rebel tomorrow and therefore still a possible town ally. No i disagree. Lynching citizens is bad. Also your tactic to check the voters and the hammer voter doesn't do anything at all for town. This only works in a classic setup. With 1 or 2 mafia teams and nothing else. Not in a game where picking the right allies is key to victory.
Only the neutrals are the real guys benefitting from a lynch no matter who gets lynched.
Are you a neutral, Marine, Pirate or CP9?

So far today has been very useful and we should aim to lynch someone by the end of it. Day 2 is unlikely to bring any significant revelations as town barely has any roles that can find information.
What did Whitebeard post that makes it painfully easy to see that he is town?
Who are these non-town faction members that are beating him up and why don't you think they're town?
Why should people keep a close eye on me?

Maybe I wasn't clear. We aren't random lynching here, I meant we can lynch the person we strongly suspect as scum today. The way I see it, they will probably claim Citizen, which makes me feel safe about their lynch and keep my vote. As long as it's not a Town Power Role, Town will gain something out of it.
I am Town, and I truly believe a lynch today is good.

Urouge's post is enlightening. I agree with most of what he says, but I think that CP9 is just as big of a threat as the pirates are, if not bigger. Early on the rebels are in such a minority they really need the town just as much as marines do.
The most annoying powers on the list aside from disguise and blackmail are in the hands of CP9. The framer and consort, one of which I expect the mafia to have, only really bother the night chat groups. If the CP9 has good players behind the wheel they may use the spy and/or architect (I'm almost positive they will have an architect) to find and convince the navy (and pirates) to join them after a few days and keep all the investigative info away from us, which leaves us completely in the dark. I think chipping away from pirates and CP9 equally would be ideal, so town stays the most attractive option to side with to both the Rebels and the Marines.
It's practically impossible to accurately point out members of each faction day after day though, so either lynch is fine.
Caribou cannot repeat everything he said, for there is way too much information.
Apologies that you missed it.
Now that I've posted mine, can you give a short summary of your faction thoughts you were referring to? I'd like to know what your opinion is.

Don't assume so quickly that Rebels are Town's main allies.
The basic premise of the game is that the faction you belong to should not concern themselves with how their potential allies settle their disputes. You have to focus on the main idea of getting BOTH of the potential allied factions on your side, by eliminating the 2 opposing factions systematically. Saying 1 faction is stronger than the other at the start is preposterous. FMs are FMs because the factions are considered to be of equal strength at the start of the game. It would be immensely unfair to have certain factions be stronger than others.
As i said, we'll see which factions will emerge stronger after the first casualties. We'll have to balance the chances of our alliances after the every night. Should we have more than 1 possible lynch candidate from multiple opposing factions (neutral killer, CP9, pirates) we should lynch the faction which has more members or is more inclined to take away one of our possible alliances.
This FM is about the possibility of the alliances, not the easily broken verbal agreements to be in one.

Right now I would not necessarily consider the rebels our allies. The rebels are capable of acting as a huge town night chat full of PRs, but they can only recruit 7 town members (to reach its 9 person limit) That means most of the town will not be recruited.

The last person who was in the Boa account was the Rebel Scout(?) and used the same phrase and mannerisms that was used before the reroll. Since he used the phrase "Still gay here" and was immediately responded to by Don Krieg, yet was mostly ignored by others, I am personally finding that Boa has the same role as previously held and Don, having replied instantly to Boa's posts, hidden in a trolly manner, makes me feel like he is trying to subtly convey that he is a Pirate to Boa, who has seemed to ignore Don now despite my FoS.
