Day 8: Fatigue

[Forum Mafia GM]

With spongebob hanging from a tree for all to see, the scum were low in spirits. Drained from a month of conflict, only the Witch and the Framer remained. With no way to communicate to each other at night, it seemed almost impossible for them to plan these final days.

But by defying the odds, both managed to hit separate targets once again and neither of them were scum. Wile E Coyote was setting up a spectacular stunt using rocket engines to escape Fuzzywuzzytown, but as he lit the fuse, the vigilante, under some spell pulled out his sniper rifle once again and shot the propulsion engines causing a malfunction and a great explosion, killing Wile E Coyote.

At the other end of town, Hamburglar was caught red handed stealing the Mafias dinner, and was shot dead in retribution.

Both dead bodies were those of ordinary citizens.

Personally I am not so sure.

Gimli was suspicious, but you have been suspicious, and so have I. Guess what? We are all Town.

It's true that I didn't support the lynch at first. I believed Gandalf was likely town based on his day 1 posts and I thought it would be a mistake to lynch him. But after he claimed doctor, several people (Indiana Jones included) made the point that we needed to know what Gandalf was for sure in order to inform the PRs actions for the night. As I understood and agreed with this logic, I decided they were right and voted Gandalf.

My trolling was to survive. I have read and reread things over and over since my misshoot and the turn of the tide. I was only on 55% power for so long because Town was doing pretty well. I tried to communicate invisibly, and laid a seed of my role a while ago. I'm really not buying Cluseau's sudden flip from being trolly the whole game to just now starting to participate. Seems like he was trying to stay really under the radar during the early game by hiding in plain sight, and since he's probably the last mafia, he knows he has to start trying to avoid being lynched/shot. I'll have to re-read a bit though. I'm really confused though, because to me, Spongebob's lack of defense seemed more towny to me than Cluseau's sudden spike in activity.

I want to know why Cluseau has scum reads on myself and Wolverine. It's not good enough to just put us on a list and not explain yourself. If you're scum it's probably more convenient for you to just point fingers without needing to explain your FoS'es because it's easier than finding reasons that random citizens could be legitimately scummy.

Final Conclusion
While only 50% of scum appear in Category #3 (which is still a lot), an absolutely miniscule 4.3% (1/23) of the town appeared there. The lesson we can learn from that is that while all scum don't necessarily appear in Category 3, if you do appear in Category 3, your statistical chances of being scum sky-rocket. Incidentally, TWO of the remaining unknowns appear in Category #3, and we are looking for TWO scum.

In short, as someone who strongly believes in statistics, I would be amazed if Frog and Wolverine are both town.

While I agree that Wolverine has a good chance to flip scum, I know I don't. I think you have a problem with your sample size. Usually in statistics you have to get a large enough sample so that your conclusions are statistically significant. For example, this argument would be a lot more compelling if you analyzed data from all the past fm's on this site. (But that would take too much time that could be better spent analyzing the current game) Also, there are a bunch of confounding variables such as personal playstyle that may predispose someone to post in certain ways.

Personally, I think vote analysis would yield more compelling results than first post statistical analysis.

Mafia doesn’t seem to vote on mafia unless there is already a train on them or a compelling reason why their scum buddy will be lynched (sheriff results). Scum, however, will vote on town (see Pinkie Pie Day 1, Spongebob and Locutus Day 4, Spongebob Days 5 and 6).

From this, I conclude Aghanim is not likely mafia based on Locutus’s vote on him from Day 5.

Using this principle again on the other Day 5 lynch trains, I conclude Gimli and Michigan J Frog are not mafia for voting early on Locutus. Aghanim’s vote on Rubber Ducky is a null tell as opposed to a town tell because Rubber Ducky flipped serial killer and scum might not know his identity.

Well, my count would be at 3/4, but I was busy the day Spongebob was being lynched, and got on in the morning to find that he was L-1 and opted not to hammer so we'd get the whole day. When I logged back in, the deed was done.

I would also like to point out that even not taking into account my intended vote on Spongebob, I still have voted to lynch more scum than King Tut and Gimli, so if this train on me is solely based on vote pattern, I think it is ill-advised.

Sherlock... You already know my reasons for suggesting we lynch you. And even though I know you wanted to remain alive, can you really argue that keeping you alive was worth losing a doctor, a sheriff, and Wile E?

Alright I got my information that I needed to confirm. I still think we should lynch Wolverine, but this is my WIFOM(I think this is the right term). Basically the scum view of Inspector Cluseau as a Framer.

Cluseau first tries to blend in with town and tries to appear pro town.
Cluseau then receives a gun from Ceasar.
After Rereading the situation on Gandalf he finds a perfect target he can kill with that gun without looking guilty. [Or we could look at my conspiracy theory where he was witched to frame and shoot Cookie. During the day, he doesn't say he was witched because he wants the witch to also know he is scum, but the chances of that occurring are very unlikely]
Cluseau then says "he shoot Cookie" and then he plays the act of a troll so it appears as his common strategy for his COM which he used as town before.
Cluseau at the end of the Day 7 wants to appear innocent to me/Gimli by stating that Gimli is town, and says he wants the Gunman/Hamburglar(who didn't have a gun) to shoot him. His logic behind this is the fact it appears innocent because he wants to die.
The actually reason why he states that is because He will shoot The Gunman/Hamburglar which will stop his gun from killing himself. Now he is alive, and isn't dead. He now appears innocent because he didn't die and he wanted to die that night. He also believes Gimli will think he is town due to this master plan. And this brings us to Day 8.

Due to the likelyhood of this being true I think Cluseau is town, and Wolverine is a better target.
If Cluseau is mafia, then this Conspiracy is probably true. Im not stating that I believe this, but it isn't Impossible. I still want that read on Wolverine which you promised Cluseau.
