FM XVI

Rules:
1- No outside of game discussion.
No PMs, no REP, no visitor msgs, no skype, etc. Not even with people not playing. Violators will be Modkilled.

2- Lurking / AFK:
I expect everyone to be able to post at least once during the day. To do this, the day will last a minimum of 24 hours unless everyone has voted for the same person or skip day (autolock will be set to number of alive players), only after that will I lower the auto locking mechanic in the OP to the required hammer vote. If you plan to be away or cannot post during a day, please PM the FM Game Master as to why.

3- Profiles
Invisible mode will be mandatory. You may not turn it off.

4- Lying about game/role mechanics:
100% permitted, however if someone asks about it in the FAQ, I will give the correct usage.
So the rule is: if no one officially questions it, you can get away with it.

5- Modkills:
Will be replaced until the Reserve list is depleted, then it's death.

6- Names:
There shall be no claiming of one's players name (COM name for you older folk) nor any hunting for ones name. Violators will be modkilled.

7- Communication with the FM Game Master:
I enjoy conversations with others, getting to know what is going through their heads when they make certain decisions. If you make the wrong choice for all the right reasons, it will not penalize you for LVP for example. Our conversations will remain private.

8- Images, Videos, Links, Annoying Formatting, etc:
Images - Permitted as long as they don't break any other rules... including forum rules.
Videos - Autoplay on videos is not permitted. You may not upload videos to youtube as that would reveal your name.
Links - Links to a forum post are permitted, please ask FMGM for any other kind of link.
Marquee, spoiler, blackout and other BBcode - Permitted but please do not abuse & your votes may be void if the bbcode doesn't pick up your vote.
Invisible Ink - Permitted, but I hope you get lynched for using it.

9- PMs from the GM
You may not post a screen shot of the PM.

10- Codes and Encrypted Messages
No code or encryption may be created with the use of a program or website. Pencil and paper is just fine. If you manage to make a mathematical cipher that encrypts a message I'm ok with it since it will be very hard to hide the fact that you are sending a secret message if you type a bunch of gibberish (and not to mention the time you will waste coding and decoding your messages [trust me, I know! I made one in FM2]). You may even use the invisible ink, due to the high risk of exposure from someone quoting you. Note that Rule #1 ALWAYS applies.



Game Mechanics:

1- Day and Night Length:
Most days and nights will be 46-48 hours long. Certain exceptions may occur. If forums go down, it will be at the hosts discretion if an extension is necessary. Unless everyone votes for the same person or everyone votes to skip day, day will be a minimum of 24h.

2- Lynching:
We will be using the [vote] tags. To use this, you will be obligated to spell the persons name exactly how it appears, no nicknames or shortened versions of the name will be accepted.

3- RP:
Expect RPs to be very short and similar to sc2 version of RP, aka little to no story. If I have time and am willing, I may write a few longer RPs.
Hints and clues may or may not be in the RPs... and I will not be confirming nor denying anything.

4- Game Starts:
Game will start with Night 1, n1 deaths will be added to the reserve list.

5- Modkills and replacements:
Forums names will be given for those that are modkilled to shame them. Other types of replacements will be at hosts discretion. Player names will not be given by host.

6- Deathnotes and Lastwills:
N/A, none.

7- Order of Operations:

3- People put on vests.
4- Escort / Consort Blocks Escorts / Consorts / Witch / Lookout
5- Witch mind-control
6- Lookout actions (can see witch and roleblockers)

Role Cards:

Mafia:
Wins with and cannot kill SK, Witch, Jester.


[GodFather]
Leader of the Mafia, may override night actions.
Immune to detection.
Not immune to death by town.
Is informed of the players name if visited by a Evil Neutral.
Can only kill if he is the last mafia alive.


[Consigliere]
Will investigate 1 player each night and receive their exact role.
Does not promote to GodFather.


[Consort]
May roleblock any player at night.
Target will get PM saying: "You were roleblocked!"


[Framer]
May frame 1 player each night, sheriff will get a "mafia" result if he visits the same player.


[Mafioso]
1 mafioso may be sent to kill each night.
Kills will be described as "Killed by the mafia".
When there are no more mafiosos alive, then another mafia role will forsake their action to kill that night.
Will not kill but is informed if his target is Evil Neutral.

Evil Neutrals:
Wins with and cannot kill Mafia or each other.


[Serial Killer]
Kills each night.
Kills will be described as "Killed by the SK".
Will not kill but is informed if his target is Mafia or Evil Neutral.


[Witch]
Controls a player to target someone of his choice.
Cannot make target target self.
Can target mafia and other Evil Neutrals.
Witch cannot force a player to use an item, but if a gun is used, witch can change it's target.
Target is informed that a witch visited him.
Target will get PM saying: "A witch controlled you last night!"


[Jester]
If lynched, 1/3 of remaining citizens will die at night chosen by random.org
Players will die regardless if they voted against the jester or not.
If the Jester is the only scum remaining, game will end with Town Victory.
Jester does not visit at night.

Town:
Must eliminate all scum except jester to win.


[Sheriff]
Checks 1 player each night to see if he is part of the Mafia or Evil Neutrals.
Feedback PMs will say:
"(targets name) is part of the Town."
"(targets name) is part of the Mafia."
"(targets name) is Evil."


[Doctor]
Will heal 1 player each night.
Is informed if player is attacked.
PM will read: "Your target was attacked, but you healed his wounds."


[Vigilante]
May kill 1 player each night.
Unlimited shots.
May shoot night 1.
Kills will be described as "Killed by the Vigilante".


[Escort]
May roleblock any player at night.
Target will get PM saying: "You were roleblocked!"


[Blacksmith]
May give 1 vest or 1 one shot gun to a player at night.
Target will get PM saying: "You received a one shot Gun!" or "You received a vest!"
Items can be used in addition to the persons role action.


[Jailor]
During the day, may choose to jail a player for that night. Then he may release or execute his captive during the night.
Unlimited executions.
Jailed player will be roleblocked and will be immune to outside attacks.
Cannot jail if there was a lynch.
Cannot execute if Roleblocked.
Immune to Witch.
Kills will be described as "Executed by the Jailor".


[Bodyguard]
Will guard 1 player each night. If that player is attacked, he will kill the attacker as well as die in the duel unless healed.
Kills will be described as "Killed by the Bodyguard".


[Lookout]
Will watch 1 player each night and will be notified of all other visitors.
Cannot see Jailor or Jailee.


[Citizen]
The most important role! You control 3/5 of the majority, your votes are important!
