Rebel Base: "Call me maybe Leia?"
Princess Leia escaped the Imperial Army yet again. Now on Tatooine, she searched for a way to contact the rebel base for assistance. Her distress beacon was certain to draw the attention of Imperial forces. She managed to grab some emergency rations from the escape pod before traversing the harsh desert of the Dune Sea. Her destination was Mos Eisley, a popular space port that would offer some shelter from Imperial forces for the right price. She desperately hoped to find a pilot willing to take her to the hidden rebel base.
Bossk concealed his forces within the newly acquired Star Destroyer. He read Tarkin's logs and discovered that the Imperial Army was searching for a data disk of great importance. Tarkin's previous conversation hinted that the disk was on Tatooine being transported by a Corellian Representative. The bounty hunter hissed as he thought of the credits he could make if he were to retrieve it for the Empire. Bossk took an Imperial Shuttle down to Tatooine and to port at Mos Eisley. The cantinas at Mos Eisley had the best information when you needed to find someone.
"What are we searching for, sir?" -Asked Sargeant Felth
"An escape pod. It jettisoned from a Corellian Corvette evading Lord Vader's Star Destroyer and landed somewhere on Tatooine." -Replied Captain Terrik
Felth's unit searched the desolate sands of the Dune Sea for hours without success. At one point, Felth reported to Terrik that he believed he had found the pod but was disappointed to unearth a rock. Later, however, a glint of sunlight reflecting off something in the sand caught Felth's eye. Rushing over to the source, he saw that he had indeed discovered the escape pod buried in the sand, recognizable by familiar Imperial markings. Leading away from the pod, Terrik also discovered two sets of tracks. One set headed to Mos Eisley, the other set (belonging to an R2 droid) was obscured by a Sand Crawler.
"Find those droids. I will go ahead to Mos Eisley." -Captain Terrik
"Luke. Luke where are you?" Beru called to her son. "Luke, your father needs you. He is buying some droids from the jawas." Luke stopped cleaning the shop and walked outside to the Sand Crawler. Presented before Owen was a long line of droids. There were all kinds of shapes and sizes. "Hmmm...I need one to help your mother Luke and one to help with the shop. What do you think?" Luke looked at the line of droids and saw a humanoid one with gold plating. "What about this one?" Look motioned at C-3PO. "You. You speak English? Can you do house work?" "I am C-3PO human-cyborg relations." "Yeah, yeah, can you help or not?" Owen was getting agitated. "Why yes. Of course sir. That is part of my programming as-" "Ok. We'll take this one...and....that little blue one there." Bwweeeeeeppp bweep!? R2-D2 reminded C-3PO of the mission Leia had given them when they left the escape pod. "Shush. These are our new masters now. Don't get any ideas of adventure." Later that night, Luke gazed at the stars as he dreamed of adventure and becoming a pilot. Honestly, Luke wanted to join the rebellion and fight against the tyrannical rule of the empire. He wanted to fly ships and fight for what he believed in. The only thing keeping him on Tatooine was Owen and Beru. He couldn't abandon them. "Master Skywalker, he left! I told him not to leave. I told him you were his new master, but he didn't listen!" Luke snapped out of his dream as C-3PO's message finally registered. "What!? The R2 unit!? Owen is going to kill me if I lose him! Nothing can be done tonight. We will have to wait until the morning to track him. Plus the Dune Sea is dangerous enough at day, we wouldn't want Sand People attacking us in the night." ....
