Andrew Ryan scoffed at the Parasites. How had he been so foolish to allow these people into Rapture. A place without laws, where a man was to be judged by his worth.. Well.. these people were worthless. Ryan disappeared into the shadows, and entered Arcadia's control room. The trees of Arcadia supplied Rapture's oxygen. All of Rapture would die if the trees were lost.
Unwilling to leave Rapture. He expertly adjusted dials and levers on the control panel. An alarm sounded. All of the air for Arcadia was being redirected to the other modules. A redundant safety system would activate to protect the trees, but not in time to save the people.
With the sounding of the klaxon, the Refugees erupted into a panic. The mob mentality shifted from lynching their neighbors, to saving themselves. They stampeded up the stairs, through the halls of the Rolling Hills, and turned right towards the Bathysphere Station. After the last bathysphere launched, and the Refugees took a sigh of relief. They realized that everyone had not made it out of Arcadia...
No one was lynched.
