Alchemist
Alignment : Town; Support/Advanced
Description: You are a devoted researcher of mysterious arts, believing in the absolute law of equivalent exchange.
Abilities: Transmute an item of your choice (by current game standards either a gun or a vest).
Special Attributes:
Vests do not stack.
You only have a limited amount of resources to transmute from OR After each transmutation you need a night to search for new raw materials.
Goal: Wins with town. (duh)

Homonculus
Alignment: Neutral ; Benign (Evil?!) ; Advanced
Description: You are a soulless creature, created by misled Alchemists. You strive for a soul of your own.
Abilities: Devour the soul of a living human being. (Kill the person by claiming his soul)
Special attributes: If your target dies at night you will not consume his soul.
Goal: Devour 3 souls in order to attain your own soul.
Killing message: The corpse was found completely dried out.

Discussion (mainly for options):
1. Should the Alchemist be able to hold more than 1 item at a time?
2. Charges of or nights between Alchemist ability use?
3. Should the Alchemist be able to give somebody the items he transmutes?
4. Should vests be passive or activatable?
5. Should Alchemist be able to stack guns?
6. Should Alchemist be able to dayshoot?
7. Should the Homonculus be able to pierce doctor heal / invulnerability?
8. I'd suggest to add a new classification for Witch Alchemist Homonculus if they should get implemented. The invest message should say that these individiuals have a keen interest in questionable mystical arts.

Inspired by FMA obv.

So. Is this for FM or SC2 Mafia?

If it is for FM, you need special mechanics to match. It will be too premature for any comments.

If it is for SC2 Mafia...

Alchemist
Ability: Transmutation idea is great!
Application: Will need guns and vests. Survivor, citizen, maybe vigilante. We do not have gunsmith or armorsmith. Not useful at all.

Homunculus
Ability: SK copy.
Application: Victory condition easily achievable in 14-man game. Nearly impossible in smaller games.

^Ye, i just went with the flow, but what else should our poor alchemist be able to transmute? i have to admit he's kind of a Santa copy from EM
On the Homonculus, i was divided between giving him certain targets that need to die one way or the other, OR give him an amount of people he has to kill. Perhaps going with an assorted list of 3 random people that need to die would be better for him? Also i already gave the poor fellow a restriction with him not being able to consume souls unless he kills them himself. Also homonculus is never immune at night.

And to all the kids who only watch anime: the FMA manga is far superior to the anime (haven't seen brotherhood yet, but i will by the end of this summer =/)

Well it is kinda tough trying to take an anime character and make it work in mafia. In most instances, its hard trying to give a legit reason for deriving a role out of the character.

I think you had the best shot with the alchemist. So what could he transmute that would be beneficial?

I don't know.

Just spitting here, but maybe a giant wall around himself and another person's home.

Night 1: Start Alchemy
Night 2 : Select another player. Both you and that player will have a wall surround the home which no one can visit nor can that player leave.

It could act as a role block to that player or defense for that player. That player can't be detected, killed, doused, (but still burned if previously doused), or anything. The only way around this if jailor jails and executes him that night you create the wall.

As you can see, this process does take 2 nights to perform. One day to create, next day to execute.
