The devourer had almost removed all the witnesses from the scene... He persued Aeris as she ran through the streets... trying to head home and away from the bloodshed. The devourer was ruthless as he jumped from the roof and pounced on top of her, evixcerating her chest.

Vincent watched the whole thing. As the devourer looked up to get one final look at his face he... or rather... she smiled... As the devourer burst into flames from within.

Nix cast off her guise as Vincent and moved to the center of town... It had taken hours but she was finally ready to set motion to purpose. Her other marks were all over the city now and all it required was one last push. It took all of Nix's power to ignite what would be her greatest plan to date... As she channeled she could almost feel her heart about to burst from her chest...

As the caressing flames consumed the filthy humans and vampires alike, Nix stood atop a nearby hill... reveling in the power of the Conduit bloodline.

It would later be known to the rest of the world as the Great Fire of New Marais... and would cause the President to pass legislation banning whole city parties involving fire.

The official cause was party related. The officials brought in from neighboring cities to investigate the wreckage of the night could not pinpoint the cause... so it was the only logical conclusion that the fire began from the pyres and spread to the entire city...

Discussion Session 1: The Suspicious Murder

Let me tell you a tale.

A tale of bloodshed, murder and deceit... That took place right in front of nearly 20000 citizens of New Marais, yet in the shadows that nearly all were oblivious to it.

Pyre night is a historical day in New Marais' history. It takes place in New Marais every year to keep Vampires away and to celebrate the death of Bloody Mary, who was burned on a pyre by Father Ignatius. During Pyre Night, partygoers line the streets along with tents, fireworks, and balloons scattered around.

Though this year... Something was different... Someone was different. The insurgence of Conduits, men with superhuman like abilities, made for a very different Pyre Night. A small group of fanatics hell-bent on the revival of the Vampire clan used information locked away ancient writings to piece together that the blood of a Conduit could perform this revival... And on Pyre Night? They could get away with walking the streets unnoticed.

Cole MacGrath was a dark knight. His heroic efforts marginalized by media force him into hiding. He had no interest in Pyre Night until a bunch of people ran screaming from a nearby cemetery shouting something about Vampires. He closed on the area and found a dead body laying in plain sight in front of the graveyard... He went in to investigate.

He had been baited into their trap. He was knocked unconscious by a brick to the head... when he awoke he was suspended above some form of sarcophagus. A hooded figure cut his face with a knife and the blood seeped in... Almost immediately what seemed to be a corpse sprung to live and went straight at his neck.

He had been bitten... But before he could be completely drained and left for dead, he exploded in a fit of electricity knocking everyone away. He stumbled to his feet and ran... but the change had started.

Bloody Mary regained her old figure and repaid the fanatics with the immortaility they had so desired. The Vampires were loose.

Cole had one night to find and kill Bloody Mary else he become a Vampire's slave for eternity. Zeke suggested attending Pyre night which is where they certainly would be... But wearing disguises... They were not only the hunters... but the hunted.

The Loudness of the fireworks made discussion with anyone impossible. Though, Cole's senses had been augmented with Vampire power... He found another body in a side street. That of vornksr... the hero of New Marais who was presumed missing. His body lay drained of blood with 2 holes in his neck. He saw two figures, one being very feminine. Bloody Mary smiled and retreted into the darkness... commanding her fanatic vampire to test Cole's resolve.

Cole looked at the Vampire with a puzzled look reached for his amp over his back but realised it wasn't there. His eyes darting around he saw a sharp looking shard of wood leaning against a house.

"Okay... I've seen Dracula... I know how this works" he said picking it up. The Vampire lunged at him... but Cole simply threw the shard into his chest, killing the Vampire immediately.

After the fireworks concluded, only 16 people remained in the area just off the party street where 2 bodies now lay... They looked at each other nervously... And an unspoken agreement was struck to figure out who was responsible. Mary smirked under her new guise... Another bite to Cole and she was sure he couldn't resist her company... forever.

The Vampire hunt was on.


Sunrise.


When the Sun Rises the game will end. The winning side will be decided based on numbers. The Arsonist will count as 2 for this regard. This is a mechanic premeditating a stalemate in case both lead Vampires die. This is not a mechanic to incentives culting over killing as killing takes numbers away as well. It is up to the Vampires how they wish to proceed. If Cole MacGrath is still alive at this stage, his number will be added to that of the Vampires regardless of affiliation, but he will not win with them unless he has been previously culted. The time ensures that there will be a Fireworks Phase before the end of the game for final actions.

Order of Operations:

I'm not publishing a full operations list as most of it should be standard, or answered in the role options / questions by random participant.

Something you do need to know:

Vampire Recruits, Vampire Kills, All Town Kills and Nix burning happen at the same time.
Dousing happens after this.
Priest Recruiting happens after this.

Therefore if the Vampires and the Priests go to recruit the same person will cause the Priests to Kill the Vampire.


The Vampires can either recruit or kill, not both. Converted Town become Vampires
Half will die with Bloody Mary. Devourer unaffected. Assuming Bloody Mary and 2 Vampires are alive (in the event of the death of the Devourer), A Vampire can be sent to kill. If Both Bloody Mary and the Devourer are dead, the remaining Vampires cannot kill, nor recruit, and must win via sole numbers.
Cole has infinite kills.
Nix has a single auto vest that will prevent one attack. She can ignite during the day if 6 hours have passed. Targets are not notified they are doused.
Amnesiac cannot remember unique roles. (Cole and Zeke count as Unique for this purpose)
Executioner's target must be Town. If his target is killed at night he will commit suicide.
Jester gets to choose 1 person who voted them guilty to kill.
Student has no restrictions
Witch's targets will not know they are controlled. They can cause self target.
Mayors votes count for 3. They can be healed. If revealed, they cannot be converted.
Medics and Bodyguards both prevent kills and converts. A Bodyguard will kill a mason or Bloody Mary if they are guarding someone they attempt to recruit.
Armorsmith armor prevents killing, not recruting.
Bus Driver can self target. Targets are not notified.
Detectives and Lookouts can see all as there are no investigation immune targets.
Veteran is limited to 2 fireworks sessions on the hunt
Jailor is limited to a single execute. Hey may jail even if there is a lynch.


Misc questions:
How long will day/night cycles last? - Around 1 day each.
Nobody can self-target unless specified otherwise (Bus Driver)? - Correct.
Can any Vampire be sent to kill/cult (including Bloody Mary and Devourer)? I.e. Devourer culting. - No. Only Mary can Cult and only Devourer can Kill. An exception is if the Devourer is dead and Bloody Mary has 2 standard Vampires. Then one of them can kill.
Are there death descriptions? Yeah. They shouldn't be too vague.. but I wont be confirming anything.
Hammer locks tally, but day will still continue? - No. Day will end as soon as I am able.

Feedback:
Will the recruiter/Vampire going to cult be notified of a failed recruiting/culting? - No
Will the target of such a failed attempt be notified? - No
Will the target of an attack be notified, if they survived (vest/heal/bg protection)? Same for buring if applicable? - The target will be informed if they survive.
Is the target notified of an unsuccessfull heal/bg protection (neither attacked nor recruited/culted)? - No.
Is it notified of a successful prevention of a recruiting/culting attempt? - No.
Cultfia/Masons notified of somebody missing in their night chat? (assuming jailing locks out of other night chats) - No. Its up to them to figure it out.
Are you notified of having visited the Veteran? - No... Well... Unless he blows you the fuck up. Then yeah, I'll probably tell you you're dead.

Roles and Questions:
Bloody Mary (Cult Leader)
When dying, will the half of the remaining Vampires dying be rounded up or down? Does the Devourer count as a Vampire for this purpose? - The Devourer will not suicide, is counted, and it is rounded up.
"Converted Town become Vampires". What happens if the Vampires try to cult the Hidden Neutral/Nix? - The neutral will become a Vampire. Nix cannot be converted.
"Assuming Bloody Mary and 2 Vampires are alive (in the event of the death of the Devourer), A Vampire can be sent to kill." That means that if Bloody Mary is alive with 0, 1 or 3+ other Vampires, the Vampires/Bloody Mary can't kill. Is it intended as such? There must be 3 Vampires. 2 standard and 1 Bloody Mary.

Devourer ("Mafioso")
Will the Devourer be forced to kill, if witched? - If they are recruiting, No. If they are not, Yes.

Nix (Arsonist)
When does burning occur in the OoO, when used at night? - Same as all the other Kills.
Burning (igniting) doesn't take up Nix's night action, if used at night? It does. She can only burn during the day if 6 hours have past... which means if you know who she is she cant instant burn.

Amnesiac
Are Bloody Mary, Devourer, Nix, Cole MacGrath, Zeke Dunbar and Mayor all the unique roles? - Yes.
Has to visit the dead player he wants to remember the role of? - No. He can remember during the day.

Executioner
"Executioner's target must be Town." Does anything happen, if the Executioner's target gets culted? - No

Jester
Does that Jester have to choose? - Yes
Will the target be randomly chosen from the guilty voters in case the Jester doesn't choose one? - No. Because I'll make them choose one.
Jester can't annoy? - Yeah, he can.

Student
May choose a Mentor at any point? I.e during the day. - Yes
When will the Student share a night chat with his Mentor for the first time? This may depend on the time the Student chooses his Mentor. - Yes, He will have a night chat same as I'm doing for the Priests and the Vampires.
Are there any prior notifications for the Student/Mentor before sharing night chat? - Dunno what you mean by this, but yeah the Mentor is told the moment a Student takes him.
Are there any visitations involved in a Student/Mentor relationship? - No

Witch
How does the Witch interact with the Bus Driver/Gunsmith guns/vests? Witch will Roleblock a Bus Driver. The Gunsmith / Armorsmith will give their items to whoever the witch tells them to.
Witching the Jailor will force him to execute, even if he got no charge left? No.

Zeke Dunbar (Sheriff)
Detects what as what? Dudes as Vampires. That's it.

Priest (Mason)
Can recruit Citizens to Masons? (recruited Citizens will be refered as Masons in the questions) - Recruits Citizens to Priests. For this game Masons are renamed to Priests
When will the recruited Citizen be added to the Mason night chat? When will he gain read access? - Whenever he responds to my PM. He wont be able to talk till night.
Priest and Masons immune to culting (unless recruiting Bloody Mary)? - Yes.
Will a Mason/Priest receive the name of the Vampire trying to recruit them? - No. Bloody Mary's recruit will just fail.
Can any Mason be sent to recruit or only the Priest? They's all priests.
Can a Double Agent (culted Mason/Vampire) still recruit? Or will he just share a night chat with the Masons? They can be sent on behalf of the Priests. If they send him to a Vampire, he wont kill them.
How is the recruiting target decided? Do the Masons have to reach a consensus, or will the Priest just overwrite the target and who is to be sent? They will all tell me who gets to go.

Coroner
Receives the roles the player had at any point in the game (i.e Party Attendee/Mason/Vampire), last will, type of death, actions and the night they were performed form his target? - He will receive their last active role, their last will, the role that killed them and all actions they did.
Can try to visit living players in hopes of them dying? - You know what, I'll give you that one. Yeah.

Mayor
Will the Mayor be notified of an unsuccessful culting, if he revealed earlier? - No... But if the Vampires try to cult him once he's revealed they're fucking stupid.

Stripper
Is an Escort? - Yep

Medic
Will the Medic be notified of successfully preventing a culting/recruiting/killing attempt? - Nope
Does healing prevent burning? Yes it does.

Gunsmith
Gunsmith guns can be used along other night actions? - Yes.
Can a Gunsmith gun be reused, if you chose to shoot it but got roleblocked? - Yes.
Can multiple guns be used at once? - No.

Armorsmith
Will armor save from dying to burning? - Yes.
Armor doesn't prevent culting? I consider the recruiting action being the Masons action. - No, armor doesn't prevent culting.
Can multiple vests be used at once? - Why? Vests make you completely immune for a night.

Bodyguard
Will the Bodyguard be notified of successfully preventing a culting/recruiting attempt? - Well yeah. He's going to be dead. And the recruiter with him.
If happens, will there be any consequences for the Bodyguard? - Yeah. He's dead.
Does the Bodyguard's protection prevent burning? - No.

Detective & Lookout
Sees all visitations, even if they happend eariler in the OoO? - Yes. They will see everything.
Will see self-targets as self-visitations? - Yes.
Is affected by Bus Driver? - Yes. They will see the after effects of the Bus Swap so who they REALLY visited.
Sees Veteran going on alert/Nix burning/player using vests and Gunsmith guns? Vet and Nix are self visitations on a burn. Vests no, Gunsmith guns standard visit.

Jailor
May execute on lynch-day? - Yes.
Is jailing a visitation or only executing? - Executing only.
Locks the jailee out of other night chats? - Yes.

Veteran
Notified for each player visiting him while on alert? - Yes.

I suggest for the Priest to set up a phrase for each night that can be easily slipped into a post. When the recruitee gets read access he can read up on the phrase and communicate to Priest that the recruit was successful before the night chat starts.

Accusations were flung left and right for the better part of an hour. Some being a lot more vocal than others when all of a sudden reflexes caused them all to duck as they hear a loud explosion.

They took their hands away from shielding their heads to see that fireworks had begun to illuminate the sky again. The sheer sound of them was deafening.

They couldn't find out who did what while explosions were tearing through the sky every few seconds. Cole signalled to Zeke to not follow him as to not arouse suspicion. Someone else in the group gestured towards the sky, then across their heck then a small bar... in unison they nodded and agreed to meet in the bar once the fireworks had concluded.

A few of them just simply stared upwards enjoying the show this was meant to be a fun night after all... Some others... well... they had other things in mind.

Discussion Session Two:

The crowd cheered as the fireworks session appeared to enter its gripping conclusion with fireworks exploding in the air at about the rate of a machine gun. Then as 3 more large explosions illuminated the sky the crowd erupted into applause as the central music restarted and the street performers and vendors moved back into position on the street.

The witnesses began to filter into the nearby bar. It was filled with many partygoers, and a few already intoxicated individuals were being escorted out by security.

A few minutes past but only 14 people were in attendance. Thinking that two of them had either run off or simply didn't care about the bodies they'd found the witnesses searched the area...

Around the back of the bar, stuffed into a dumpster was Cid Highwind. The group pulled him out and their hands were covered in fresh blood pouring out of a wound from his chest. It looked like someone had tried to stake him while his heart was still beating.

An audible scream from the street made them change their attention. Whoever screamed had already started sprinting down the street when the witnesses managed to see what the cause was. Zack Fair's mutilated body. His chest had been clawed at by what looked like a wild animal yet there was no trace of blood. It was all drained.

They all had an urge to run, thinking that someone wanted to clear all witnesses but with two very separate killings... they didn't even know what was going on, let alone what to do.

Zeke looked horrified. Did Cole kill one of these humans? Was it already too late to save him?

That's quite hypocritical of you as you just added your vote to a lynch train. I'm not scum and I want to pressure vote to get information because so far none has come forward. We're almost half way through the day and if we wait until the last few hours we won't have enough time to do anything. It is more informative for town than scum if everyone votes their suspects and it is common practice to do so.

I agree with Clouds analysis of Tifa. The points he displayed are details that I found suspicious as well. It is good to to get lurkers to participate, but Tifa hit a few red flags. I'm not saying she is mafia, but she has caught my attention. I want to know why Rufus thinks Tifa is town. We need to be wary of the cult since they only have a 2/9 chance to hit a citizen. They are more likely to start stealing town PRs now. We need to come up with a way to deal with that.

We can't leave the game up to the priest (especially with only 2 citizens alive), we need to start discussion and see if anyone starts changing their patterns on who they pressure during the day/side with. The cult will most likely start recruiting since they have a high chance of stealing PRs. We need to keep the discussion going and see what everyone thinks now before they are recruited. We can then cross-reference that after this day is over and people are converted.

So Tifa didn't come right back and Scarlet hasn't pressured anyone near the end of the day. Reeve and Bugenhagen haven't increased their post count of 1 from yesterday. Reno and Barret have only posted once today. Hopefully those 4 will be replaced but there is no guarantee they will be or that their replacement will do any better. If you cannot make a bare minimum of 4 posts per day please do not sign up for forum mafia and take the place of someone who actually wants to play.

Hopefully the priests will be able to recruit someone tonight but with only 2 citizens and barely any posts to go off we can't assume that they will. There could be 2 starting priests but that seems unlikely with only 3 power role slots. Still there hasn't been any notifications reported from a notification heavy role list so this is a possibility.

If Cole feels he has enough information to correctly kill one of the 3 scum then he should go for it but he should bear in mind that any town dead, even a citizen, is costly at this point. Hopefully he's not playing to get culted by shooting randomly every night.

Fireworks Session Two:

The firefighters had been trying to contain the blazing bar for the better part of the hour, with onlookers unsure what was happening. I agree that the players need to be more active (for both fun and because it gives mafia/nix too much of a shield).
I'm guessing the current standing is at 3 maf - 1 nix - 1 neutral - 7 town.
We still have 3 confirmed citizens, so the priest still has some play in the game. Odds are that the mafia culted a PR though. 4 (2 Hidden Town) PR v 3 cits (excluding priest)
Cole should be careful in his targets since he has a 7/11 chance to hit town and that percentage will grow if we lynch correctly today. 2 are confirmed PRs and I bet the other 2 are most likely PRs as well.
We only have a confirmed mason and vigilante - I would assume that Elixir provided other PRs for the town otherwise we would hardly have a chance at victory.

I don't think you read much of what I said. Pressuring confirmed scum isn't very helpful as any good scum wouldn't post and his mafia buddies aren't going to defend him either. That's quite hypocritical of you as you just added your vote to a lynch train. I'm not scum and I want to pressure vote to get information because so far none has come forward. We're almost half way through the day and if we wait until the last few hours we won't have enough time to do anything. It is more informative for town than scum if everyone votes their suspects and it is common practice to do so.

It is truly amazing how blind this sheep town is. You KNOW that the vampires culted last night as there was no kill from them. They essentially now have a ventriloquist's puppet with a vote. What better use for a puppet than to cause a mislynch on a townie? Today's reno also has IDENTICAL writing style to the previous Reno - He never puts periods at the last sentence of his posts. He uses this supposed modkill as an excuse for his lurking on day 2 which he was being pressured for. Reno is either the devourer or bloody mary, and even more likely to be mary given that his vampire made a sheriff claim to help him avoid pressure.

I was sleeping / away earlier in day. These days are much shorter than main fm game days and due the cycle timings if I have plans in the day it is difficult to get on until very late in the day.

Also, the bodyguard's protection triggers on conversions as well. The vigilantes kpn can also become the vampires when converted. Up to 2 chances to kill important vampires and a mayor to protect make bodyguard a very useful role.
Elixir probably assumed that the vigilante would be shooting scum as well.

There are links between Tifa and both Yuffie and Lucrecia. I could believe the mafia (especially if it's Tifa) would convert Lucrecia. Lucrecia's claim was a bit odd because after saying how Tifa was so scummy she goes and checks Yuffie instead. She might not have wanted to waste her check on someone she is sure is scum anyway or she could have checked Tifa, got culted, then changed her resuit. It was odd that she wanted people to pressure Yuffie who she already knows is mafia and defends Reno who lied about being replaced and is probably mafia. Yuffie has seemingly given us a mafia, Reno, although she could be bussing an obvious teammate (still, giving up a mafia would really damage them). Bodyguard could definitely be in the role list to kill a culted Cole and to stop the mafia's 2 KPN.

However I've been suspicious of Yuffie as well although her playstyle could be similar to that of a PR. She made a very late claim (22 hours after day start). If Lucrecia has been culted then that claim was all her own doing as the mafia probably wouldn't have left a sheriff tactic for her in their night chat. If I lynch Yuffie I can get rid of the devourer or bloody mary or lose a bodyguard. I can't change the lynch onto Reno because no one else is here.

The festival of blood had already earned its name over the past few hours. People were becoming increasingly aware that something was not completely right as armed police began to comb the streets looking for any evidence of what has caused so many bodies to be found.

Cole killing the lurker is sensible, what I question is. Why would the devourer attacked him? Cole has revealed his identity yet he was save. This makes me even more suspicious that cole has been converted
But if cole was converted, why would they both attack the same people. It doesn't make sense to me

Also, notice that scarlet, reeve and tifa didn't post yesterday, and there were no burning

Guys for those of you who are town, consider this lynch wisely, judge him from his defense. BUT if he doesn't respond sooner or later, HAMMER HIM BEFORE 6 HOURS. If he is the arsonist we can save 1 or 2 lives
We are at 7 players ( 4 needed to lynch ), I suggest PR's to not claim for a while until WE HAVE ENOUGH ACTIVE MEMBERS TO DO A LYNCH. Right now the most active is me ( but soon I won't be able to ) , Vincent and reeve. Elena drops in once in a while.

Claiming town PR will just get you killed.

I am still confused why there was an overkill by the Devourer and Cole. It's strange that the Devourer doesn't target Cole. It's even stranger that they killed the same guy. Either a coincidence or WiFOM.

I am extremely curious as to why the mafia and cole targeted the same person as well. I thought Cole was converted but this leaves me with doubts. Unless Cole is trying to WIFOM his way out of it like suggested earlier.

I told elixir that tifa was hammered too. Hopefully he will come and close the thread before nix can ignite. I was also thinking that maybe nix targeted someone that was dead (if we're that lucky), but I would expect at least 1 person to be doused under any circumstance. I think this because Nix has never missed an ignition on any day and the spree finally stopped.

Hopefully the mafia and Nix's douses overlap since we are down to a smaller pool of choices.

I would also like to say that I am disappointed reno put tifa at L-1 in a game of lurkers. That just helps the scum hammer away at it. I thought it was general knowledge not to put someone at L-1 if you want to pressure them and let them defend themselves. This leaves me suspicious of reno and scarlet. Hope we can get more discussion going.

He observed Reeve moving around swifter than an average human should be able.

The devourer... was following.

Reeve found Scarlet trying to leave the area. She obviously had enough of the murders and wanted out. Reeve... or should I say, Cole, saw that as an act of villany and stabbed her thoroughly. After throwing her into an open grave nearby he looked at his hands... Had he turned completely? He didn't care about the red on his hands... He wanted more of it, infact.

The devourer... was hunting.
