Ghouls dropped out of the ventilation shafts as the hatch burst open. More feral ghouls flooded into the Vault-Tec office as the survivors made their last stand. Weapons were improvised, but the ghoul tide did not cease.
The vault dwellers began to die.
Roxy leapt to her feet and pulled open the security door to her booth. She prayed that it was not a decision she would regret.
Only one person made it inside before a ghoul slammed against the door, forcing it shut again.
The security feeds showed the remaining survivors retreating into the back office.
Roxy looked over at her new companion, and nodded at the console next to them. A key had already been inserted into the necessary slot, and an amber rune was pulsating on the display. Roxy gripped the key that was in her console, on the other side of the room.
"Three... two... one!"
The keys turned.
