Day 8: The Nightmare Unfolds

The remaining NCR Rangers finished constructing the barricade and readied to move out. After the power had been restored the lower levels returned to some measure of sanity, and the various insurrection forces had managed to regroup. Most of the upper levels belonged to the NCR, though there were still isolated pockets of Enclave and Brotherhood of Steel resistance hiding in the maze of offices and corridors. The lower levels were also unsafe as Enclave booby traps and Brotherhood paladins inhabited every corner.

Recon teams had been deployed to explore the Vault-Tec facility, and the first scouts were just returning to brief Carlson on the layout of the installation.

"Sir, we've swept through this floor, we encountered no resistance but we've discovered multiple entry points to the levels above and below us."

"Okay I want Rook and his boys covering those entrances. Anything else?"

"Just some kind of laboratory system, Anders is compiling a report but our first sweep revealed no immediate hostiles. We-"

An NCR soldier bounded down the corridor and interrupted the briefing.

"Sir, sorry sir, but we found something."

Mkoll groaned. He had awakened, groggy, tied up in the middle of what he could only guess to be the boiler room. Mkoll had been forced to endure the dull clunking and whirring of the various cogs and bits of machinery for what had seemed like an eternity. The nearby furnace had been left open and the heat was making him feel uncomfortable. The gag wrapped around his mouth was stifling, his arms were tied up above his head and his legs had gone to sleep as they were stretched out towards the other side of the room/

He heard voices coming from just outside of the door in front of him and immediately began a futile struggle against his bonds. More footsteps echoed from the corridor behind him, and Mkoll realized that there were two entrances into the boiler room.

Mkoll gave up on the thought of escape, and he slumped his shoulders. As he relaxed, his world finally stopped spinning and his eyes settled on the dull grating below him. As the footsteps and voices got closer, his eyes traversed up towards the doorway. He caught a flash of something near the floor, and as he looked closer his eyes widened in terror.

"Roxy, my men tell me they've found a survivor. We're just about to- shit, get him down!"

NCR troopers covered the room with their rifles as Carlson stared at the poor wretch that had been strung up by an unknown hand. The man was frantically screaming at the NCR through the gag taped around his mouth, the muffled words unintelligible. One of Carlson's men took out his knife and stepped forward to help.

It all happened in slow motion to Carlson. The tripwire was triggered by the NCR soldier, and hidden machinery began rumbling. The ropes grew taut, and without warning the man was torn asunder. Blood and guts were sprayed over the onlooking troopers. The head and upper body swung through the air, wailing, before disappearing into the furnace.

Carlson fought the urge to vomit as he saw the victim's face contort in anguish as the flames went to work. Scrawled on the furnace door were the words...


MHM! TASTED LIKE CHICKEN!

Roxy cleared her throat and spoke through the security door.

"Hey folks... looks like we lost someone outside the hatch. Who's missing, is everyone alright?"

The gathered survivors grim faces betrayed no surprise. They knew that Mkoll had gone missing during the night. They were currently gathered around the body of Brady. He had been beaten during the night and strangled.

OK, so first thing is first - I'm definitely a DOCTOR. [Leia, this is part of the reason I didn't like your soft claim system. I can't necessarily produce feedback on command but I'm a vital role in the game so :P :P :P]I've specifically made myself look a bit scummy because it usually keeps me off of the real scum's radar for night kills.

I'm doing this for multiple reasons. N1 was random & I needed to see whether I was a med student or a doc/traumatized surgeon. At this point, I'm still unsure but I have a nicely laid out plan to see what I am, especially now that we can actually talk tomorrow without worrying about much.
Having said all that, I'm also keeping in mind that I should try to heal who I believe I need to. I'm gonna go ahead and try to see if Greedo's "DOC ON ME" WIFOM is going to work. If that's the case, then I went ahead and chose to heal the next most town-looking person IMO which is Leia.

As always in a game with a drug dealer, IDK if they are legit or not. I'm gonna pray and not use my vest tonight. I have a feeling that I stayed just under scum's radar and they won't target me tonight, so I'll save that vest for later use.

Hello everyone! Guess I got interviewed because I'm somehow confirmed town. Thanks Leia!

I don't have much to say, though. I'd rather not give away my role right now. Could change the outcome of my game if I did...or not? Or have I revealed my role already and am I just messing with you? WIFOM!

Now, I don't know if Leia has been jailed or not by the devourer. One thing's for sure though: I was not. So I guess I'll make a quick post on what I think we should do.

Here's what I think. Currently there are 3 red mafia (+1 puppet), 1 orange mafia, 3 neutrals, and 7 town. With at least one neutral on our side, as long as the devourer and whoever has the gunsmith on the mafia side are dead and we don't lose more than 2 town, town basically wins. We can lynch Luke, thereby reducing yet another KPN if the above happens. Otherwise, we lynch the Devourer. Or red mafia if both are gone at this point.

Don't know what else to say. Not much left to discuss at this point in the game. Eager to see the outcome.

Yesterday, when I called him out as BoS, his only defense was to claim that Lando was an Actress who was BoS. He has not role claimed. Han is clearly the witch and, the only way every player would have had a fair shot at getting those rewards in his vault is if Vader is BoS, which he is.

Also, I find it interesting that the orange mafia would want the Devourer dead, a.k.a. - the only killing neutral they could possibly side with. Not only has the Devourer never killed an Orange mafia, but lynching him would reduce the KPN of Town deaths (especially since they have a verified doctor and armoursmith still in play). It would be really funny to see the Devourer lynched today and then the OJ mafia shoots the red mafia, red mafia fails at shooting targets again and the town gets a majority and wins.
