I think the director was probably converted. It's possible a sinister got the director confirmation and thus doesn't want to admit it, but that seems comparatively unlikely. I think there's a few bait people you'd guess were director who make really bait conversion targets, too. People who don't take stances on things but are vaguely townread are ideal for conversion 'cause it's difficult to notice any significant changes in their behaviour but at the same time probably won't get nk-ed.

The Asylum Director ability is calculated after any deaths and conversions, ignoring all forms of redirection or roleblock, with the exception of the death or conversion of the Asylum Director themself. So no.

They get to prove themselves as town for the rest of us too cuz only insanes get confirmed, and if they don't come forward, then after another town dies their ability to self-prove becomes meaningless because that dead town could have been the one who got the confirmation.

So it's been well established that the only way the director confirmation would not get sent out is if he died or got converted. roleblocks and other shenanigans can't change that. He obviously has not died so he must have gotten converted.
