I can see your character so clearly in my mind as town, but I don't want to rule out the possibility you're just a really, really argumentative scum (you seem to have implied this is your meta)
However, it's a lot more believable Kovath preemptively planned to make an extra sheriff claim. He's been talking a lot about how "you shouldn't just assume there you can host meta blahblahblah". It wouldn't surprise me if he was planning to claim sheriff, claim he trusted the other sheriff, and use the "this is such a bad host setup it may actually be Calix reverse-psychology-ing us" to actually make town fall in love with it.
You also have some strange host read that implies Kovath is nearly always scum (I'd like to see that). So this would be a good way for Kovath to subvert that.
But I'm just reaching for straws until I reread and flesh out my thoughts.
Partially for post-game: If that is actually what is going on, sorry for not being able to appreciate that. Like, really sorry. Because if that is the case I'm a moron for spending half an hour showering you in contempt to explain to you what you already knew.
I'm bad at this game lol. :Partially for post-game
If you're capable of reading intentions like that, I'm not sure how you were unable to see my intentions in the original post.
Unless you saw those intentions but deliberately focused on "the misquote" to see how I would respond?
I'm sorry if I'm now deconstructing some kind of pressure strategy by drawing attention to that lol
My town and my mafia play is very similar. If you look up the game World of Music, my mafia play is usually very solid, less shit posting, more analytical, no fake claiming. My town is slightly more whiny cry baby and picking fights. As mafia I usually bus/tunnel on one or two people and town read everyone else. I am starting to get known better here so I do try to switch some of it up, so I think it is better to look at my intent rather than my character. If you are town reading me over Kovath because of my character, you are losing town the game, but I will sweep town everytime as mafia if they do that.
This could be completely wrong, but if we rank the players 1-7, calix will pick the 3 shot randomize with the most balanced or fun save. Now when I used this algorithm I did not know you and just put you towards the bottom. Iced puts you up higher, which could make my whole spec completely trash, and ofc I am not using it to solve the game but just like a little sheet for fun. Iced/you actually are about the same balance as kovath/you.
I strongly townread Iced, but I also strongly townread him in WoM (I knew he was mafia, but if I was town I would have town read him), the only thing that gave him away was some odd theories he went with. I see a more focused, looking at both worlds Iced this game.
Once mesk/iced claim what I think they will claim it becomes 2v2 because.
Unknown/duck/mesk are confirmed (in my pov, not yours I understand it is 2v2v2 technically I guess oh whoops rip)
I have to decide is Iced towny enough to break my mafia read on you or towny enough to break my sheriff read on Kovath. Also I can look at is Kovath towny enough to flip my town read on Iced.
What do you think you have done to push town forward this game? I need you to convince me you are town so I can look at Kovath, and if you want to ask me questions to help you find my alignment fire away.
I tried to say something that a mafia would never say, and in turn it was something I don't really say often, so you are correct. Read me mafia for it, it would be the correct thought process, but wrong result. I would give you a better answer, but I can't say because I know as much as you do with who my partner is.
A mason group
A citizen group
A sheriff-citizen group
And one of these group is a liar (could be 1 Mafia slip to the other group as well)

Lol, the frustration thing makes sense I guess. Your wording is a little misleading if you're trying to imply it's neutral, though. This:
"As town, does trying to get you to play the game help me achieve my win con? Yes
As mafia, does trying to get you to play the game help me achieve my win con? Yes, if you are my partner, otherwise No."
Sounds like you're indicating it's a town move. It is theoretically, but not practically.
Fair point. I was trying to say it is in the interest of TOWN for yuki to play the game. Mafia can help town achieve their wincon through these kinds of acts, another example be bussing. However, I was saying that although it HELPS TOWN, it is NAI because I can do it as both alignments.
Benefits town, but either alignment can do it.
I claimed as soon as I saw you told me to.
As I said from the start, I think spontaneous roleclaims benefit the town more because it gives us something to read into. Giving towns more stuff to read into unfortunately also gives scum more deception room with clutch claims, but I still give the value of the townread more weight than the deception of the scum.
Obviously I can't really refuse a mayor though.
Then you are confirmed mafia in Kovath's world with yzb.
@Ice d why the cold shoulder in chat bro? THought we were cool.
So, thinking about Duck's mason claim and so on:
What really strikes me is this point about him not knowing the other mason's identity, refusing to paraphrase the mason chat, etc. etc. Focusing on the first part: I cannot see a town perspective for not immediately confirming identities to one another. Furthermore, assuming that Mesk is the other mason, there seems weird moments where Duck first acts as if Mesk is 100% confirmed, then backs up and adds a ? or says he doesn't know who the other mason is. What the heck?
All this narrative does is serve to draw further attention to him - negative attention, when he wasn't really being scumread before. Why would scum ever do this instead of just laying out a straight mason claim with no such holes? This suggests that he is town.
HOWEVER: Duck has played games with me where I have utilized this reasoning: ex. WoM, where I townread secondpassing for saying that he was ignoring people. It is definitely possible that Duck is attempting to manipulate my reads in order to get a townread through this approach, which is why I am hesitant. But is worth it to attempt this at the price of getting suspicion from the rest of the town? It depends on how important he thinks my reads are.
Hmm...
Death, yet the Town.

If I am mafia, do you think I faked the "LOL" when unknown claimed mason, and I even went back and made a post reevaluating mesk and rereading? You can say I am making a play, you can say I am being suboptimal (I assumed it was mesk, I didn't really care who it was to be honest), but if you look at my reactions it should be obvious I am a mason. Maybe I am biased because I know my role.
Also if you look at world of music, I stated I did not know my scum team for the first few hours, not knowing my mason partner is completely normal FOR DUCK, not other players. If you hold this against me then you hold it against me. IF I SAID MY HEART WAS BEATING LOUD, WOULD YOU HOLD IT AGAINST ME. (THIS IS A CODE FUCKING SOMEONE ANSWER IT.)
My reads aren't that fixed, so picking a hypothesis now that's bad isn't that bad for town. What matters is the final hypothesis. When I say character, I'm not just talking about hollow personality. Like, that fight you've been picking with Yuki looks like it has a lot of emotional basis. Maybe you're pissed at him despite being mafia. That's very possible.
Different players perform well in different contexts. Though, you were probably right to put me below you/kovath/iced.
I haven't read that game, but are you sure you didn't scumread Iced for the wrong reasons? Because he seems to have dodgy theories anyway. And dodgy theories are also not really indicative of alignment - I come up with shitty theories all the time purely for entertainment, and I recently tried to derive reads from a checkers game played on the forum posts. What matters is if he pushed those dodgy theories. (I'd like to hear more about how you read Iced this game, esp. in relation to that game where you were both scum).
I dunno if I can "convince" you. I can only reveal more of my internal thought process and hope the town gets me.
You seemed like someone who was heavily reliant on textbook scumreading (a term I have officially made up this game).
-With how you responded to buddying.
-With how you read into how much time someone spends on a post.
-With how you read into attention-drawing (Ice's play at the start of the game).
That was what my first long post was trying to correct. If my post is unnecessary that's great - I can now go back and read it and try to ascertain whether you were pressuring or doing misleady stuff.
I also hated your sheriff CC idea. It reduces how much town can read others. Honestly, I'm a little bias because I think things like that simplify / make the game more boring anyway (I don't only play to win) but I still stand by what I said.
Part of me wants to policy lynch kovath, because I cant take losing to him anymore, but the real duck respects good play and rather lose a good game. I literally am completely flipped on him, and cant see him as scum right now, which means hes scum.
I just cant see a team that isn't yz. His play has been scummy, and I will just accept being outplayed by Kovath if he has fooled me.
I think the focus should be on determining whether it is me or yz as mafia. To assume there is 5 "confirmable" roles is silly, it is possible, but we need to pressure specifically me more. I would rather a 1v1 between me and yz which is probably scummy to say since if I am mafia, I want my partner to lay low and let me force the miss lynch.
@yz should we both present our cases on why we are town? I will let you start since I have posted more content thus far, and then respond after.
I agree I am a try-hard. I want to reach a pro-level at mafia, if there is even one? I am new to FM, more of a IRL/video player. I know what it takes for me personally to reach a pro level, and I will continue to work in that way. Most of my posts might suck or be terrible, but they help me achieve what I am trying to do. I want to work on being fast paced, in the conversation, solving the game, every alignment, every game. It will help me improve the most.
Every single game I play I have a mental note of every role in the game that I will fake claim on a dime with every plausible night action, and set tiny breadcrumbs for the viable claims. It helps me understand real TPR's mindset when they claim, so I am able to say... wait a minute why did you check them, or why didn't you do this?.
So yes I do have to make a post about everything. I realize it will upset some players, and I am sorry, it is not made to annoy anyone, but to improve myself.
No, I don't want to start a duel before the 24 hour mark that, as you just noted, has a good chance of benefitting scum. As we have antithetical playstyles, I can see why you scumread me, but you're overstating your case massively. This looks like a really scummy post, and going "well I'm aware of that" does not make us feel better heh.
I'l reread, we'll continue to develop our thoughts, and make a natural decision when we get to it.
At least I'm getting a feel for who you are.

Lol I made the money off progaming. My teammates made millions off it, one owns a restaurant, one signed a 750k 3 year contract. But hey hold the denial/grudge over my small success? all you want. Believe it or not, but when you are the best in the country at something, you can get paid for it!!.
REALLY GOING TO THE GYM NOW, BYE.
Pausing reread upon having a thought -
I think Mesk514 is in fact with a chat with Duck. She's just trolling (or using a trollish persona) to make this mason shit look more legit.
I really struggle to see this in any other way. So that would leave one to wonder, if they are scum:
Did Mesk514 collab with Duck before? Duck's been making far more messages building up to Mesk514's reveal than needed.
If they are town:
Why is mesk514 such a fucking troll?
