I'm not sure wherever the 'inherent trait' of Magic Wielder means that I can choose three schools of magic without adding extra points or not. Also not sure how many points claustrophobia would take off (assuming one) and I'm sure I've made more mistakes somewhere
The inherit trait limits you to starting out with only one school of magic, and clausterphobia would count as -1.

Only thing is he needs a Dwarf forgemaster+scrapper for any internal repairs. I'm Homemade Mechanoid :-/ I mean for stats I could easily make my character a dwarf, seems like a silly restriction :-D

Hoping Homemade Mechanoid can rival Dwarfs in forging and making machines, as that's my entire build. I guess they could, since it's an unknown origin, and I made the origin a master of all the key dwarf-type skills. Meh, I'm not sweating it. I like my Butter Robot.

Ok, SecondPassing, have you given more thought as to how you'll finish your character?
Thanks for the encouragement frog, I made a list to compare the two differences between our builds.

I wouldn't agree with most the additions because it doesn't fit into my character's backstory. On the other hand, quite a few of the traits you left out are good ways to simplify my character.

    Less relevant things:
Psychopathy and insanity are not the same thing.

A while back you had an avatar with a gun wielding potato. What was that all about? (It was pretty cool, just wondering how you thought up of it.)

Yeah, whatever makes sense to your story is more important, because it's more important to you. I'm sure we could still succeed as weak, feeble, blind, deaf, paraplegic builds.

I want to say someone jokingly blackmailed me into a pineapple avatar. Maybe it was Kyle? A mod from a few years ago. Yeah it was probably Kyle. It just kind of stuck.

Charismatic, honorable makes no sense with public enemy #1
Regenerative makes no sense with weak.

I'd replace them with mentally unstable and a phobia

And I never thought of using Idiot. >....> No one likes to be an idiot. More of a personal thing.

Regenerative is the insurance for bleeding and minor stuff like that.
Honorable and Charismatic can fit certain villanous persons, such as the Villian who doesn't kill unarmed foes and those who can seem "less evil".
In addition, Charismatic should reduce a tiny bit of the Public Enemy #1. (-2 / +1).

Mentally Unstable is a 10% chance, so I guess that works too.

    Haven't thought about phobias though.
These could work : Hydrophobia, Agrizoophobia, Ancraophobia, Cometophobia (It's space, c'mn), Nosocomephobia, Tomophobia, Tonitrophobia.

All that bonus stat boosts. (I highly expect the host to fix this entire build)

Is it possible to gain new traits through our adventure? E.G. taking on a difficult training session by the master blacksmith to be the best smith ever, or being tortured for hours leading to mental instability?

    Here's some more trait ideas.

    Schizophrenia
    PTSD
    Religious
    Amnesiac
    Cartographer
    Apathy
    Congenital Analgesia
    [Type of] Companion

I also think there should be some combinations.
Two examples : Biologist + Xenobiologist (PH.D Biologist), Charismatic + Silver Tongued (Manipulative).

To avoid exploitation, we should have a limit of 2 addictions and 3 phobias.

Bouncing on RLVG's suggestion, perhaps we can have an umbrella trait for chronic illnesses.

Like arrhythmia, asthma, acute muscle atrophy. Blah blah blah.
Those are real traits that can hinder people heavily.

    ::

How are goals determined? Will players assign themselves goals?

    ::

Perhaps you are ready to release an example for a turn?

    ::

I suggest you take out "angel" from the opening post because there are no angels. (Or maybe I found a secret, because angels will spawn in game but we can't be one)

The only fear that would yield points is hydrophobia, which is completely debilitating in organic races and will most likely result in a short lived character (Your character would dehydrate within 2-5 days).

Hydrophobia, Fear of Water: See above explanation
Agrizoophobia, Fear of wild Animals: -2 Points. "Wild Animals" would classify as any non-sentient non-humanoid lifeform that is not domesticated.
Cometophobia, Fear of comets: -1 Point. Odds of encountering a comet while space-faring is very low.
Nosocomephobia, Fear of hospitals: -3 Points. Space is dangerous, and hospital trips may be frequent.
Tomophobia, Fear of surgery: -1 Point. While space is dangerous, magical/psionic healing is common in hospital environments, drastically reducing the need for invasive surgery.
Tonitrophobia, Fear of Thunder/Lighting: -2 Points. No real explanation needed.

Dwarves are the best known race at crafting. Your character would be a moderately worse forgemaster, somewhat worse scrapper, and a slightly worse mechanic. Dwarves are also famed for their secret technique of breaking darksteel, a closely guarded technique only known by the best dwarven forgemasters, passed on onto worthy dwarves.

Characters evolve and change throughout their adventures, so yes.

    Here's some more trait ideas.

Schizophrenia Insanity already covers the necessary reality warping trait.
PTSD Will do, was actually working on this at one point.
Religious NPC Trait, will be fanaticism
Amnesiac Will not be a starting trait
Cartographer Each Merc station and ship comes with a built in navigation system. Maps may be purchased.
    Apathy Will do!
Congenital Analgesia This is a trait I forgot to add, thank you for reminding me!
[Type of] Companion Companions may or may not be acquired through questing.

I also think there should be some combinations.

There are some hidden combinations of traits that will synergize very well with each other to provide new abilities.

2 addictions, and a -3 total point reduction from phobias.

I can work on these today.

How are goals determined? Will players assign themselves goals?

There is no real "goal" however players will spawn at a merc station were they can seek out a quest.

    ::

Perhaps you are ready to release an example for a turn?

Turn 1 will be a shopping spree.

I suggest you take out "angel" from the opening post because there are no angels. (Or maybe I found a secret, because angels will spawn in game but we can't be one)

    Angels are not playable characters.

It is possible for fears traits to be removed, but it's a secret.

Demons possess basic pyrokinesis, allowing them to manipulate fire up to ranges of 10 meters, causing it to move to anywhere in visible range.
Demons can manipulate fire better than magical controllers of fire. Demon's abilities to control fire takes priority over most mages or psionic beings.
If he took the fire school he would be able to create/launch fire further than his innate 10 meter range.

    LMAO!!!! :-D I love it!

I'm considering changing from Homemade Mechanoid to Dwarf with the exact same traits. Think I should do it? I just figure my traits all revolve around the same traits a dwarf would be better with :-/

    Like:
    Forgemaster
    Scrapper
    Mechanic

    I may be better with:
    Pilot
    Magic Weilder (Magical Enchanting)
    Programmer
    Scientist

But I kind of want to make sure.

RLVG, what are human mechanoid's inherent strengths?

    Programmer? Pilot?

I'm seriously considering going dwarf now.

    I know some advantages are:
    Immune to telepathic attacks
    Doesn't have to eat/drink/sleep

Just trying to figure out if there's anything homemade mechanoid's are better than most at.

Mad scientist's apprentice. Except a dwarf instead of homemade mechanoid.

I could even more easily change Scientist to Geologist if I felt like making an optimal crafter/builder character. But Scientist may be more useful in how to use the stuff I make, or give me more ideas on what to make.

I'm thinking I bite the bullet and stay with homemade mechanoid, and I won't stop until I'm a superior crafts/machinery builder than the best dwarf. Adversity makes it a bit more interesting anyway :-D

    Background:
In 2096 a hidden colony was established on planet Nova Eduxa, first planet of the twin star solar system Twinovalis.
The close planet is cooled down by the intense gravity and radiation, allowing life to grow.
Radiation and gravitation has reduced mankind into a new sub race, the Eduxan Dwarves, who founded the Stormhammer Clan Empire.
They were a very relaxed race who did not participate in the war of purity, but as the war went at its peak they declared war on the third planet Prime Kadin in 2120 to annex it.
The failed annexation attack on Prime Kadin has caused the entirety of Stormhammer Clan to fall as their own planet went under siege.
In hope of keeping their culture, they sendt a convoy ship to a human planet in asyl.
One of the dwarves of Stormhammer Clan, a certain Junstav Gastein, were part of the young militia team, the unfortunate events has lead him to become a sole survivor of his home town.
Due to the traumatic events of his home town and loss of family, Junstav has had his mind grown unstable, one of the things that keep him somewhat stable is the tasty cuisine.

He blames himself by saying that he could've done better and thus has grown to become a perfectionist.
What more could one become a perfectionist, by becoming a skilled scientist!
During his years as a scientist, he became an excellent biologist and xenobiologist, dedicating his time for biological improvements.
Unsatisfied with his biological improvements of his body, he decided to take it up to eleven by augmentating some of his body.
When he has become augmented, he decided to learn programming to take advantage of machinery and maybe one day upgrade himself.
One eventful day, a child came to his lab thinking it was a playground ruining it all, Junstav has grown the paranoia of children leading to the certain incident known as "Child X" which has lead to the death of a curious child.

Now at age of thirty and having his lab lost to repo's, he has decided that he needed an adventure in hope of becoming the new crowned king of Stormhammer Clan and once again bring glory to Nova Eduxa, but how...? There's also the hunt for his lost brother in arms.

    Appearance :

Junstav is a rather pale dwarf, moderate height for a dwarf.
The brown hair reaches to his shoulders and an ever so magnificent beard reaches down to his knees.
A red war tattoo in the shape of lightning covers his left side of face.
His teeth is even more white than himself, his skin is perfectly clean.
The voice is dark and has a charming stereotype scottish accent, a tradition by the Stormhammer.

    Spoiler : Frog :

    Name: Butter Sanchez

    Race: Homemade Mechanoid (+1)
Spoiler : Butter Sanchez' Traits :

Inherent Traits: Naturally Immune to telepathy
    Trait 1: Forge Master (+2)
Trait 2: Magic Wielder [Elemental Enchanting] (+1)
    Trait 3: Scrapper (+1)
    Trait 4: Mechanic (+1)
    Trait 5: Pilot (+2)
    Trait 6: Programmer (+1)
    Trait 7: Scientist (+1)

Spoiler : Butter Sanchez' Background :

    Background:
Butter Robot was originally a small, two armed, mobile robot created by a mad scientist named Rick Sanchez to pass butter. Upon creation, it asks Rick, "What is my purpose?", in response, Rick tells it to pass the butter. Moments after completing its task, the Robot repeats, "What is my purpose?" Rick clarifies that it passes butter. It looks down realizing it has no real purpose and says "Oh my god." Rick responds "Welcome to the club pal."

Butter Robot followed Rick everywhere inside the lab, stopping only when Rick threatened to disassemble Butter Robot. Eventually Rick disassembled Butter Robot, but Butter Robot continued to exist. Rick must have been happy with Butter Robot's questions because one day he made Butter Robot into Rick's lab assistant. Rick made Butter Robot look exactly like Rick because Rick is the best. Butter Robot helped Rick build items, weapons, armors, ships, and machines for Rick's adventures.

Occasionally Rick would suddenly vanish after building with Butter Robot. Butter Robot missed Rick because Rick is the best. He always returned with something new; items, weapons, armor, ships, machines, and books. Butter Robot loved books. Rick always returned. Always. Sometimes Rick was angry, sometimes he was hurt, one time he didn't move again.

After outliving Rick, Butter Robot inherited Rick's laboratory, tools, machines, possessions from all of his quests, and the box Rick was holding when Rick died. With time Butter Robot learned about everything in Rick's lab, from science in general, to mechanics, programming, forging, scrapping and even piloting machines. Butter Robot eventually learned of how he came into existence from Rick's special book: a combination of all of the previous skills and magic.

After learning all Butter Robot could inside of Rick's lab, he decided to upgrade his body to resemble Rick as much as he could and venture out to expand his knowledge, figure out the meaning of life, and most importantly bring Rick back. Butter Robot knew he wasn't the strongest, and that the purposeless world would be a dangerous place. Butter Robot had never stepped outside of the lab, but had done all he could inside the lab to prepare him with skills for the outside world.

Butter Robot figured he should at least act and appear human before heading out. So he took the clothes from Rick's rotting corpse, put them on, and gave himself a name. Butter Sanchez.

Hell is a different plane of existance that occasionally links to the dimension corresponding to it (the dimension in the game). It is supposedly ruled by Satan, the largest demon to exist, however probes sent into hell have yielded no information on the wereabouts of Satan. Hell's Demons seek to subject all that is holy so that they may feed off of the sin that is mankind (in this case, any biological entities). Some Demons don't agree with this, as they instead seek to fight the angels forever. A even smaller amount of Demons have gone rogue, and instead just wish to live their own lives in the realm of men.

Some Races are inherently better than others at some things.

E.g. Dwarves are better craftsmen than Homemade Mechanoids, but I'm still a Homemade Mechanoid craftsman anyway.

In the case of magic, both Elementals and Dragonkin are inherently best with magic.

Humans are inherently the weakest at basically everything.

If you want OP Arcane user, check out the Dragonkin tank build I suggested.

So, as Deathworlds said before, you can stack up traits on a weak race, and they'll be OP for that race, but not across the board. Then again, Deathworlds also suggested characters evolve and can surpass their racial limitations to possibly become better than all other races in a particular trait despite inherent racial disadvantages.

Hope you figure out what you like :-)

The thing about insanity is most people are valuing friendly fire very low. Kind of freaks me out :-P But with so many "lightning rods", they'll soak up the damage instead.

I think no race has affinity with psionics. Which is good for me
Dragonkin are like the most OP'st race, or so it appears. I don't think anyone went dragon yet.

Friendly fire seems to be less of a problem than how in the world deathworlds is going to distribute information :x

If people are insane together, does that mean they will understand the other's insane world??? Time will tell.
Looking forwards to what build you go @Gyrlander
