    S-FM Inside Job


    As the threat of the Serial Killer looms over the small town, the Police have decided that they need to organize a special task force to stop him or her. The Behavioral Science Unit's psychological profile on the killer has shown that they have their own sense of morality, leading them to believe they could work in the Justice System. If this is true, then the Police might not even be able to trust each other. What's worse is that it appears the killer isn't working alone.

    Possible Roles:

    Possible Secret Police Force roles: Detective, Lookout.
    Possible Town roles: Bodyguard, Citizen, Doctor, Escort.


    Rolecards:

    Serial Killer
    1. Target one player at night, learning who they visited and who visited them.

    Attributes:
    • You share an anonymous night chat with the Secret Police Force.
    • You share a night chat with your Student.
    • You share a factional night kill with your Student.


    Student
    1. No action.

    Attributes:
    • You share a night chat with the Serial Killer.
    • You share a factional night kill with the Serial Killer.
    • You are not informed of roleblock.
    • If the Serial Killer is lynched before you, you gain access to the anonymous night chat.


    Detective
    1. Target one Player at night, learning who they visited.

    Attributes:
    • You share an anonymous night chat with the Secret Police Force and the Serial Killer.


    Lookout
    1. Target one Player at night, learning who visited them.

    Attributes:
    • You share an anonymous night chat with the Secret Police Force and the Serial Killer.


    Bodyguard
    1. Target one player at night, dying in their place if they are attacked.

    Attributes:
    • Target is not informed they were attacked.
    • You are not informed of roleblock.
    • Can only be saved from direct attacks.
    • You can leave a last will.


    Doctor
    1. Target one player at night, protecting them from attacks.

    Attributes:
    • You are not informed of successful heals.
    • You are not informed of roleblock.


    Escort
    1. Target one player at night, roleblocking them.

    Attributes:
    • You are not informed of roleblock.


    Citizen
    1. No action.

    Attributes:
    • You are not informed of roleblock.
    • You can leave a last will.


    Win Conditions:
    Serial Killer & Student: Control 50% of the population at any point during the game.
    Secret Police Force & Town: Eliminate the Serial Killer and the Student.


    Order of Operations:
    1. Roleblocks
    2. Heals
    3. Kills
    4. Investigations



    Mechanics:
    • Days are 48 hours long.
    • Nights are 48 hours long.
    • Game starts Day 1 with no lynch; introductory/WIFOM stage.
    • Last wills are not allowed.



    Rules:
    • No Out of Game Communication.
    • You must play towards your Win Condition.
    • No personal attacks that are unrelated to the gameplay.
    • English Only.
    • Do not post excessive videos & images.
    • You must be active.

    Which would kind of lead me to my next point. I feel that certain situations (Detective, Lookout, Doctor, Bodyguard) could be potentially un balanced.

In the first day, any lynch could happen whether on scum or not. The entire thing is situational, anything with a combination of Escort/Doctor Doctor/Bodyguard and Doctor/Bodyguard would be highly disadvantage The Scum faction. Even with an Escort, they could get the killer day one and stop killings until enough evidence would be assured.

    I don't know how well I explained this, but it really is situational. Only thing I can think of to balance it would be maybe Take away one of the Hidden town slots and replace it to citizen, and then take citizen out of the Hidden town.

    I could be wrong as I don't have a terrible amount of experience. I'm just going off of what I'm looking at.

    Sorry, I never saw this post!

    With the WIFOM of a Serial Killer/Agent Hybrid in combination with the Investigatives trying to use the Chat to out the Serial Killer while the Serial Killer tries to out the Investigatives, I think something like this would be balanced. I will also be making sure that the roles I pick make the setup as balanced as possible, so there is some host meta for you.

    Your concerns do make sense, but I don't really want to comment on them as risk of giving my opinion on the setup away too much.
