Midway through their passage, however, martial law is suddenly declared, forcing the three to disguise themselves as orcs. Orc Soldier (Hidden Orc)

    Wildmen

    Possible Roles:

Samwise Gamgee and Gollum have the rolecard of a Hidden Fellowship role in addition to their unique ability.
A Hidden Orc is any Orc role except Witch-king of Angmar.

Fellowship: Consigliere, Agent, Consort, Janitor, Framer, Witch
Orc: Captain, Lookout, Detective, Escort, Doctor, Blacksmith, Grunt
    Wildmen: Executioner, Jester, Survivor

    Fellowship Role Cards:
    Frodo Baggins
*The One Ring: You may choose to use The One Ring during the night, rendering yourself invulnerable and immune to detection / witching that night. This ability has unlimited uses, but the following day the Witch-king will learn the names of two random players who are not you (can repeat from day to day). Using the One Ring does not prevent you from performing the factional kill.
*You may perform the factional kill.
*You have the final say on teammates’ actions.

    Samwise Gamgee
*Samwise the Brave: You may choose to forgo your night action and protect Frodo in the night, sacrificing yourself and killing the attacker in Frodo’s stead if Frodo is attacked. Both your own and the attacker’s last will and role will be sanitized.
*You may perform the factional kill.
*You have the rolecard of one of the Fellowship roles.

    Gollum
*The Darkest Places: You may choose to forgo your night action to slink in the shadows of the night, becoming detection-immune.
*Master…: If Frodo dies, you go insane, preventing you from using The Darkest Places. On the second day after Frodo’s death, your insanity surfaces in public, revealing you to all players.
*You may perform the factional kill.
*You have the rolecard of one of the Fellowship roles.

    Consigliere
*You may investigate a target to discover their exact role.

    Agent
*You may track a target to find out who they visited and who visited them.

    Consort
*You may roleblock a player to prevent them from performing their night action.
*Roleblocked players will not be notified.
    *You are immune to roleblock.
*You will not receive feedback if someone attempted to roleblock you and failed.

    Janitor
*You may clean a target at night, sanitizing their role and last will if the target is killed that night.
*You learn the target's role and last will upon the target's death.
*You may sanitize Fellowship members, but not yourself.
*You have two uses of this ability.

    Framer
*You may frame a target, causing them to appear as Fellowship to the Orc Captain or as having visited the Fellowship kill target.

    Witch
*You may choose to control a player to visit another player. This has no effect if the witched player has no night action or is a Fellowship Member performing their unique ability.
*Targets are not notified of witching.

    Orc Role Cards:
    Witch-king of Angmar
*Ringwraith: Use of the One Ring attracts your attention, enabling you to better search for the Ringbearer. If Frodo uses the One Ring, you learn the name of two random players who are not Frodo (can repeat from day to day).
*Morgul-blade: You wield one of the mighty Morgul-blades, a weapon that befits your status as lieutenant of Sauron. You may apply poison to your blade and attack another player at night. You can do this two times. You may use this ability on the first night.
*Due to the dark spectral energies permeating you, you cannot be healed by a Doctor.

    Orc Captain
*You may check the alignment of one player at night. Detection immune players shall appear as Orc to you.

    Lookout
*You may stake out a player at night, finding out who visited them in the night.
*You do not pierce detection immunity.

    Detective
*You may track a player at night, finding out who they visited. If you track a detection-immune target, you will see that they remained at home that night.
*You do not pierce detection immunity.

    Escort
*You may roleblock a player to prevent them from performing their night action.
*Roleblocked players will not be notified.
    *You are immune to roleblock.
*You will not receive feedback if someone attempted to roleblock you and failed.

    Doctor
*You may heal a person at night, preventing their death.
*You are not notified of a successful heal, but your target is.

    Blacksmith
*You may give someone a one-use sword. This sword can be used at night to attack another player at night if the wielder forgoes their night action. If given to the Witch-king, the Witch-king cannot use both the sword and Morgul-blade on the same night.
*You cannot give yourself a sword, unless a Witch forces you to do so.
*You may produce and give two swords.

    Grunt
*You are used as cannon fodder in Sauron’s legions. Grunt loudly and hang traitors!

    Wildmen Role Cards:
*You appear as an Orc to the Orc Captain.

    Executioner
*At the beginning of the game, you will receive a target.
*Your target is always an Orc.
*Your target is never the Witch-king.
*If your target is killed at night, you will become a Jester.

    Jester
*If you are lynched, you may select one player among those who voted you to die in the night.

    Special Mechanics:
See the rolecards of Frodo Baggins, Samwise Gamgee, Gollum, and the Witch-king of Angmar for their special abilities.

    Order of Operations:
    1) Night chats open.
    2) Frodo / Samwise / Gollum perform their special ability.
    3) Witch controls.
    4) Consort roleblocks.
    5) Escort roleblocks.

    7) Survivor vests.
8 ) Fellowship performs its factional kill.
    9) The Witch-king kills.
    10) The Framer frames, the Blackmailer blackmails.
    11) The Blacksmith delivers a gun.
    12) Jester’s target suicides from grief.
    13) Investigative actions occur.
    14) Night chats close.
    15) The Witch-king is given feedback, if the One Ring was used.

Orcs: All Fellowship members are dead. At least one Orc must survive.
Executioner: Your target is lynched while you are alive.
    Jester: You are lynched.

    Rules and Mechanics:
Days are 48 hours long; nights are 24 hours long.
Fellowship members share a night chat that opens at the end of day and closes at the end of night.

    Eh, this is true.

Though, I do think it'd be annoying to force the host to replace you because you failed to tell them a night action or to post and didn't both to tell the host.

Just to clarify, the Fellowship cannot have duplicate roles, yes?

If Frodo is night-killed, would this mean that Gollum would be revealed on the second night after Frodo's death?

I would recommend replacing Blackmailer with a different role. (given the last line, a role that can sanitise if certain conditions are met could work)

    Witch-king of Angmar
*Ringwraith: Use of the One Ring attracts your attention, enabling you to better search for the Ringbearer. If Frodo uses the One Ring, you learn the name of two random players who are not Frodo (can repeat from day to day).

*Due to the dark spectral energies permeating you, you cannot be healed by a Doctor.
A Town Leader role, eh? 100% guarantee that this will go to a scrub-tier player.

    Doctor
*You may heal a person at night, preventing their death.
*You are not notified of a successful heal.
Are the targets notified of a successful heal? (assuming no)

    Blacksmith
*You may give someone a one-use sword. This sword can be used at night to attack another player at night if the wielder forgoes their night action. If given to the Witch-king, the Witch-king cannot use both the sword and Morgul-blade on the same night.
*You cannot give yourself a sword.
*You may produce and give two swords.
If a Blacksmith was redirected to himself, would he be given a sword that way? If the answer is no, would the Blacksmith consume a charge.

You should include a rule that prohibits game-throwing. (legitimate, attempted or fake)

Given how much RP-based versatility I injected into the Fellowship, I have no idea how balanced this is, so I'm not sure allowing them a possible fourth member would be the best. Thief could be more plausible, I could see a variant that stores one charge of their stolen ability, and it can use it or choose to steal again.

Just to clarify, the Fellowship cannot have duplicate roles, yes?

That is correct as currently stated. I'm thinking that I should just remove that restriction though since it might just needlessly restrict claim possibilities in some instances.

If Frodo is night-killed, would this mean that Gollum would be revealed on the second night after Frodo's death?

He is revealed the day after the next one: Night (Frodo Killed) -> Day -> Night -> 2nd Day (Gollum revealed). I implemented this mechanic for both flavor + incentive to keep Frodo alive (-> Samwise's BG ability), and thought that second day after death seemed the most balanced.

I would recommend replacing Blackmailer with a different role. (given the last line, a role that can sanitise if certain conditions are met could work)
    Vanilla Janitor with 2 uses?

A Town Leader role, eh? 100% guarantee that this will go to a scrub-tier player.
I'm looking forward to it. At least it can't reveal.

Are the targets notified of a successful heal? (assuming no)
They are informed that they are attacked, so they'd be informed of healing (will clarify that).

If a Blacksmith was redirected to himself, would he be given a sword that way? If the answer is no, would the Blacksmith consume a charge.

He can get a sword that way. Clarifying.

You should include a rule that prohibits game-throwing. (legitimate, attempted or fake)

    Agreed.

Is this series based on the books or the movies?

Bruh, they got Gollum with them, that means it's after the Fellowship split, aka, after they visited the Elves. Two Towers style.

Sure. What win condition would you give to the Thief, however?

That is correct as currently stated. I'm thinking that I should just remove that restriction though since it might just needlessly restrict claim possibilities in some instances.

Good idea. Helps to reduce host meta as well. ("A Framer died so all Detective results are 100% legitimate from now on.")

    Vanilla Janitor with 2 uses?
That could work, although I have not seen Janitor used very often in S-FM games so I don't know how balanced it would be. (assuming it works at night, most players would just assume the cleaned role was Town and would just be concerned about convenient TPR claims, so not seeing anything too risky here)

I also see that the RPleb Brigade is back in town to fuck shit up with their adherence to canon.

I mean... maybe... if this one ever gets off the ground.

Books / Movies don't really make a difference here since it needs to be a mafia setup. Probably more movie-based though.

I'm thinking "Survive and see the Orcs lose." I don't think it'd be quite as strong as having a potential 4th Fellowship member.

Yeah, exactly my thought. Implementing the change.

Sanitization also has a place in the game due to the Samwise BG mechanic. I don't think Janitor adds an excessive amount of power to a Fellowship slot, though it may be necessary to implement Coroner as a possibility.

I also see that the RPleb Brigade is back in town to fuck shit up with their adherence to canon.
