    Mafia

    Sleuth

    - If the Town Jailkeeper dies, the player inherits their abilities
    - Can jail a player at night, protecting and roleblocking them
    - Targets are not informed of being jailed
    Mafioso
    - No night actions
    Town

    Vigilante
    - Shoot a player at night
    - 2 uses
    Backup Sleuth
    - If the Mafia Sleuth dies, the player inherits their abilities
    - Can check a player at night for their role
    - Mafioso shows up as Citizen
    Jailkeeper
    - Jail a player at night, protecting and roleblocking them
    - Targets are not informed of being jailed
    Citizen
    - No night actions


    Win Conditions

    Mafia: Eliminate the Town or have nothing preventing this from occuring. Have one Mafia member survive to the end
    Town: Eliminate the Mafia and have one Town member survive to the end

    Game Mechanics

    - Game starts on Day 1 with a lynch
    - Day 1 lasts 72 hours. Other days last 48 hours
    - Nights last 24 hours
    - Majority vote required (ends the day)
    - Mafia can sacrifice their action to perform the night kill
    - Mafia have a night chat
    - No Last Wills or Death Notes allowed

    Rules

    - No out-of-game communication
    - No excessive personal attacks
    - Directly quoting PMs from the Host is not allowed (paraphrasing is accepted)
    - Spam or continuous off-topic posts are not allowed
    - Lurkers will be replaced
    - English only
    - Players must work towards their win condition. Legitimate or threatened game-throws are not allowed
    - Deliberate attempts to circumvent the rules are not allowed

    Order of Operations

    - Jailkeeper protects/ roleblocks target
    - Sleuth investigates
    - Mafia factional kill
    - Vigilante kill

    Not sure I follow your line of thought here.

    It's to give players incentive to protect their PRs, since having the Mafia Sleuth/ Town Jailkeeper die would not only mean they lost a member, but that a member of the opposing team has their abilities activated.

    @Calix , I'm ready to approve this after the the KPN issue is dealt with.

    Major Concern: Town has an equal KPN to scum.

    Are players notified of being jailed?

    Would you like to have a rule against threatened gamethrows?

    Concern: The backup mechanic is an anti-comeback mechanic, which can make the game more swingy; If town lynch the correct mafia, they gain a sheriff.

    Can you walk me through why this is a problem or can it be fixed by limiting the shots? (thinking of 2)

    1. No.

    2. Good idea. Will update the rules to account for recent events later.

    This is intentional. Mafia have to be careful not to have their Sleuth get lynched and the Jailkeeper has to make sure they do not die early.

    The issue here is that the vigilante can play as a solo SK and try to win by killing everyone, with a backup of being able to win with town. An SK in this setup would have a mild, although unfairly small, chance of winning, and rolling that chance into the town gives town a significant buff. A 1-2 shot limit would deal with this fairly effectively, however.
