They were baking a blueberry pie. They sealed it shut and forgot to poke holes in the top crust, so it built up pressure and exploded!

The pastries grew in the oven causing all of them to form into one giant pastry.

It turned blue because each pastry had 1 or more blueberries in them and they were merged making them larger.

YOU GOT IT man! Applejack made her pastries but put them in the oven without poking holes on the top. So they exploded and all of the pastries turned blue from the blueberries
