Day 4: The Puppetmaster

[Forum Mafia GM]

The gaang discovers that there have been strange disappearances in a Fire Nation town during the full moon. They befriend an old innkeeper named Hama, who reveals that she is a waterbender from the Southern Water Tribe that had been taken away sixty years previously alongside her fellow Southern waterbenders. She becomes Katara's mentor and shares with her the tragic story of her life as a longtime prisoner of the Fire Nation. A horrified Katara discovers that Hama is enacting her revenge by kidnapping Fire Nation civilians with bloodbending, a sinister and dark technique of waterbending which can only be used by an incredibly strong and skilled waterbender during a full moon, when his or her waterbending abilities are at their strongest potential. The resulting battle forces Katara to use the technique against Hama to save Aang and Sokka. Hama is taken away by the village, and she congratulates Katara on mastering bloodbending. A horrified and saddened Katara breaks down in tears and Aang and Sokka comfort her.

For D2 his actions could be summed up as a slight push on Ganon, Then jumping over to the Narks train without pushing on narks, Then jumping to Raiden and pushing on him, Then sheeping the monster train. Inbetween there was a soft poke on alpha (After he claimed neutral) with a bunch of fluff and mechanics talk.
I read it as bussing Ganon with zero real scum hunting. Plenty of soft attempts to gain town cred in there.

Monster made a Toph post. I was playing the other side of my D1 situation. I am not saying the guy is town but I pushed on him a lot harder than I really read him. I wanted to see who would fall in line with the read and say they see him as hard scum when at best you could only make a soft case.

Auckmid and goonswarm are both luke warm. I read them both ways and can make a case for either of them to be town or scum (And I did). Severn dosn't look townie to me in any way especially with his borderline coaching post D3 on Ganondorf and his 'almost effort' to shut down your FAQ talk. Hell, You could even make an argument that he is an offsite player and only started posting because he was forced to. But its still a soft peg I would put on par with my D1 reads of players as 'slightly town/slightly scum'. That's not something I would bank on by any means. Philie is a real mixed bag. I have to actually go through some notes to comment on him.

To be blunt I am kind of offset in bouncing leads off of you. Your BM aside your charged claim came at the same time as another scum and 'players get charged in 2s'. That creates a real potential for you to be scum claiming charged to back the other scum charged claim. I would really like to hear more on Auckmid/Goonswarm>Spy logic than a simple 'scum read'

The thought that he did not was just something I fabricated to some degree although the D2 last second train was very real. It is offsetting that he did not follow up with a post after I pressured him though.

I agree with divemaster's logic that scum reveals a 1-shot gun to get town points. And guess who shot divemaster to shut him up? Auckmid. That raises some real red flags in my mind.

Goonswarm posted a list of his mafia role speculation completely unprompted yesterday before we knew mafia had a consig. I thought it really seemed like a post to appear to be scum hunting. Later on, Philie started calling Goonswarm bad, and imo it seemed like Philie was frustrated with Goon for revealing Mafia roles?

Philie also had a neutral role speculation post yesterday that read like scum trying to appear to be giving us content.

Severn seems like a scum who was told to post so he wouldn't be mod killed.

Ozy as magician is circumstantial, but he is at the intersection of players who I think AscendedOne would have read as town and someone I think is scum.

It was Narks's Day 2 result that caught Ganon. To me, there's an outside shot of Narks and Ganon being scum and Narks revealed that Nobody visited Ganon on N1 and then later the mafia realized in night chat that the result doesn't make sense. When Toph flips in the graveyard then Narks busses Ganon for the towncred.

I will give something more substantial in a few hours (Once I catch some sleep) but My Spy post was the majority of my LW. I can speculate at plenty of players possible alignments but at the end of all my reads I really feel like spy is a very solid scum target. The reason he was the majority of my LW is that I did not want to create multiple targets D4. With the epic night of hell we just had I feel that much more that I should stay focused in my actions and avoid spreading reads in all directions.
I may not end up giving you some top 5 list but I will give you something of value.

Hi, so first I got charged this night. Then 4 more PR´s dead, one for gamethrowing, hosts semi-confirmed Porycon and YapYap as town with it.

I killed divemaster for a few reasons, first he obv completly ignored all of my posts otherwise he would have readed my answer in post #640 on day 2 already,
second he builded a counter train on me on day3 on which Ganon and Severn jumped in no sec, which looked scummy as hell to me.
Then his vigi soft claim assured it for me, after seeing how well our vigi did that far and his possibility of being scum, I had no reason to not shoot him anymore,
its sad that he was actually the bad vigi and not scum, but at least we dont need to fear any more kills from him now.

Also I agree on the public opinion on Severn so far, but the recent votes on him have no real substance, also Gerik seems to have something on Spy I think, who wants to lynch Severn too btw.
