    Fragos's Forum Mafia project

    Hello, guys. Since DR went out for a while, I decided it's time to bring out some fresh ideas.

    I'm thinking to create a Forum Mafia game of my own. At first it's won't use any anonymous names, and number of participants shouldn't be greater than 20 people, but if this becomes popular, I'll start using it on the same basis as other Forum Mafias. While setup is still in progression of my mind, most of the staple roles from SC2 mafia will make appearance here. In addition to that, certain roles that are not present in SC2 Mafia can appear here:

    Drug Dealer, Grave Robber, Hypnotist, Enforcer, Merchant, Student, Masochist, Spree Killer, Ghost, Ninja, Armorsmith, Journalist.

    In addition to that, some of my suggested roles may also appear there:

    Watcher, Debt Collector, Interrogator, Werewolf, Bomber, Mine Layer, Sapper, Therapist, Lover.



    So, what do you think? Do you support the idea of miniature version of Forum Mafia?

    My suggested roles are located in Suggestions. Some may be included, some may be not. All of this depends on your feedback. The feedback for mini-Forum Mafia is here. The feedback for new roles is located in Suggestions. The Interrogator, Werewolf, Bomber and Sapper have a better chances of appearing than other roles. All that I need now is support of admins or a large enough number of people.

    Also, no, it will NOT include any ponies. Sorry, but I'm a little more serious than then.

    Not going to happen, Deathfire. If you want a pony themed Mafia, why you won't make one with your "pony" buddies? You already have enogh people to make such a game - although I'm fairly sure it will be very retarded.

    Random Mafia roles: Consigliere, Consort, Framer, Janitor, Grave Robber, Enforcer, Disguiser, Watcher, Drug Dealer, Hypnotist.

    Random Killing Neutral: Serial Killer, Spree Killer, Arsonist, Werewolf, Bomber, Mine Layer.

    Random Benigh Neutral: Jester, Executioner, Amnesiac, Witch, Survivor, Merchant, Student, Ninja, Masochist, Lover.

    Do you like the current setup idea? (assuming there will be really 20 people to play). Any feedback is appreciated!

    I like it but with the popularity of forum mafia a lot of people are getting left out.

    Right now the first game is not going to follow any specific theme, as I don't have any anonymous names yet. We will use our regular forum names, for starting game. Like in real Forum Mafia, you will receive private message from the game host about your current role, allies (if you have any) and you will also perform night actions through "PM me" command. You can participat here even if you are already playing Forum Mafia (And yes, I do too!)

    If there are any other questions, don't hesitate to ask then.

    I'll start with the list of possible participants. Here are they as of now:

    nanosystem, Deathfire123, jaczac, Nick, Barry (what is your real name?), Celt, The Waaagh.

    That makes 7 people as of now.

    I'm on my own right now. So no advantages and disadvantages for group/nongroup members anymore.

    Early on, I was really hyped and charged by the possibility of creating a new group, but as of now I somewhat calmed down after COMs took control of the most of forum. You can still opt in to join my cause if you want.

    I will be free in this week's Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I plan to use 12 hours long day and 12 hours long night. Still waiting for more signups.

    Also, I know too well how FMIV was ruined. To avoid that, private messages should be forbidden - the only one who you can PM during a game is the game host.

    Also, changed description from "random roles" to "hidden roles".

    We really don't know when the next Forum Mafia starts, so this is you best chance to prove you skillz!

    How are you going to moderate this? There are issues that you must have moderator powers in order to solve:

    1. Only participants can post in the threads.

    2. Night chats for scum teams.

    3. Dead chat.

    4. Hide activity times on profiles.


    Unless you make this on your own seperate forum I don't see how you can do this succesfully.

    I am not sure he has thought this through.

    12 hrs day/ night may mean that some of your players never contribute to day/night before it is over.

    1. Before the game starts, I'll make several new forum profiles and give then to participants before the game starts, similar to previous Forum Mafia game. When I'll create a game thread, I'll ask one of the forum moderators to lock this thread only for forum participants (with provided names). So the only ones who will be able to post in day chat are Forum Mafia users and game host.

    2. Even with absence of the night chat, the scum team should be still able to communicate - through giving PM messages to me. But I hope that the same moderator who will lock the thread for participants will also provide night chat for us - and also dead chat (3.)

    4. The new profiles will have "hide activity times" on by default.

    1. You can't do that on a per-thread basis afaik. You would need a new subforum. And admin powers on user and groups to edit them.
    2. Same as above.

    You should ask Rev if you can do it

    Well I guess it's not something that can be accepted quickly, but if everything will be fine I think that time will come soon.

    As of now I'm not going to talk to DR about that. I guess I'll simply wait for next Forum Mafia to start. I'll try to advance on my own by playing few more Forum Mafia games.

    Right now, I think, my primary priority should be to keep suggesting new roles, in hopes that they will be implemented in SC2/Forum Mafia. I'm stull fairly good at that. Keep checking my suggested roles, if you didn't it yet.
