Lateral Thinking Puzzle #1: An AMAZING item!!! :D (Solved!)

HEY EVERYPONY!!! Are you ready to have tons of fun?! I sure am! That's why I put together this little party game for all you eager little fillies!

    RULES:

Okay, so these things are little riddles called "lateral thinking puzzles"!! They suggest situations that sound really weird, but make so much more sense once you explain them. Yes, YOU!!!! Your job in this fun little thread is to solve the riddle... and you have as many guesses as you like!!!

If you were just guessing, though, we'd probably be here all day. So, you can also ask an unlimited number of yes or no questions! I will answer everypony's questions with "yes", "no", or "irrelevant", irrelevant as in you're asking something that just has nothing to do with the answer, silly!

If nopony gets the answer for a while, I'll give you all a hint! I usually have at least a couple of juicy hints for every riddle, so feel free to ask for one if you're collectively stumped!

Be careful, though! These questions can be really tricky, and you often have to take a step to the side in your assumptions to set your hooves back on the right path. You gotta think laterally!

I'll kick this party off with an easy peasy one, to get you ponies started!

    PUZZLE ONE:

So... there was this pony who did an AMAZING job making something! And then, he gave it to somepony else, who ALSO agreed that it was amazing... but he didn't want to keep it! So then, he went and gave this special something to somepony ELSE, even though this other pony didn't even know what this amazing something WAS!!!

    What was it?

I GOT IT! The name, "Ming Vase of Hitler".

    1) A pony invented the name
    2) He gave it to his son, who thought it was amazing
    3) His son didn't really want it because it was too epic so he gave it to some gay hobo on the street
    4) The hobo was like, "the fuck is a ming vase of hitler?"

Re: Lateral Thinking Puzzle #1: An AMAZING item!!! :D

The answer is the Le Mat Revolver, a 9-shot double-barreled revolver made in 1861 that could fire buckshot from it's under barrel.
The maker of this magnificent firearm did an amazing job, in fact all attempts to replicate it have failed miserably so it fell out of conventional use in the 1800s. The person who received it didn't want to keep it because it was a prized weapon by Confederate soldiers during the Civil War, and they didn't want to be perceived as Confederate. And it was given to a pony who doesn't know what firearms are because they are a pony.

Ok, let's do this while the FM is on night mode.

1)Is this a real puzzle with a real answer?
2)Is the third pony more stupid than the first two?
3)Is the something a tangible object?
4)Is it made out of common materials?
5)Can the something be seen with a naked eye?
    6)Can it be eaten?

1)Is this a real puzzle with a real answer?
Ooh, now we're getting serious!!! Yay!

Yes, this is a real question with a real answer! In fact, the answer would be about the same if humans were involved instead of ponies, so the non-pony folk among you don't need to do any mental jumping jacks!

2)Is the third pony more stupid than the first two?
Some might say so in this situation, but irrelevant!

3)Is the something a tangible object?
    Yes!!

4)Is it made out of common materials?
Hmm, how common are we talking, here? I want to say yes, but I'm not sure where the line crosses from common to rare! If you meant objects somepony usually has lying around the house and doesn't have to go to the store for, then probably not!!

5)Can the something be seen with a naked eye?

    Yep!

    6)Can it be eaten?
    Hmm.... sadly, nope!

Ok, let's try to narrow this down a bit.

1)Is the object made out of wood?
2)Is the object made out of metal?
3Is the object made out of glass?
4)Is the object made out of plastic?
    5)Can the object be opened?
6)Can the object's shape be manipulated in any way?
7)Is it a gender specific object? (I mean girls would recognize it immediately while boys won't or viceversa)
Is the object used for decoration?

    And my first guess:
The object is a painting. While it is an amazing piece of work, the ponies can't really tell what is depicted on it.

4)Is the object made out of plastic?
No to any of those! Though, I admit there is a small chance that wood was involved... the puzzle is a bit flexible on that point! Exactly how he made what he did so brilliantly is irrelevant... we only know that he did, and that the final result can be identified as something!

    5)Can the object be opened?
    Nope!!

6)Can the object's shape be manipulated in any way?
You can fold it, but you can't stretch it!

7)Is it a gender specific object? (I mean girls would recognize it immediately while boys won't or viceversa)
    Nope!

Is the object used for decoration?
    Rarely!!!

    And my first guess:
The object is a painting. While it is an amazing piece of work, the ponies can't really tell what is depicted on it.
Nope, it's NOT a painting! I'll let you in on something related, though: the third pony not only didn't know what the something was, he or she didn't know how brilliant the something was! Why would the pony who appreciated such a painting give it to somepony who didn't? Even if it was for money, they certainly wouldn't pay as much as a pony who did!

Ok, another batch of random questions in no particular order.

1)Is it a piece of clothing?
    2)Is it made of paper?
3)Can the object be qualified as a tool?
4)Did the second pony give away the object because it could not use it?
5)Can you buy this object in a store?
6)Was the third pony blind or physically impaired in any way?
7)Was the third pony aware it was receiving an object?
    Is it made of rope?

Nope, you can't wear it! I said it was smaller than a breadbox, remember? Well, I guess you could scrunch a dress up to fit in one, but then it'd be all wrinkly and stuff!!!

    2)Is it made of paper?
That's what I was referring to earlier actually, with the wood! So, it could be, partially... but irrelevant!

3)Can the object be qualified as a tool?
    Not as a tool, no!

4)Did the second pony give away the object because it could not use it?
Wrong! The second pony was perfectly capable of using it!

5)Can you buy this object in a store?
    Nuh-uh!

6)Was the third pony blind or physically impaired in any way?
    Irrelevant!

7)Was the third pony aware it was receiving an object?
    Yes!

    Is it made of rope?
    Nope!

Wow, this is getting fun! I think you all are inching closer!!!

    1) Did the object change at all when it changed hands?
    2) Is the object something that you use for a specific purpose?
    3) Did the first pony think that the object was amazing as well?
    4) Did the first and second pony think of the object as amazing for the same reason?
    5) Did the third pony not see the qualities that made the object amazing, or did they not know what the object was at all? For example, if I make the world's most efficient car, and show it to a person who isn't a car expert, they would recognize it as a car but not recognize its merits.
    6) Would the majority of the population see the object as amazing?
    7) Is the object an "improved" version of a different object?
Is amazing used in a negative or positive way?

No, but that was a good guess! You're really thinking laterally, pony!!

    2) Is the object something that you use for a specific purpose?
    Yes!

    3) Did the first pony think that the object was amazing as well?
Technically irrelevant, but I'm sure that pony probably recognized the brilliant job he did!

    4) Did the first and second pony think of the object as amazing for the same reason?
    Yes!

    5) Did the third pony not see the qualities that made the object amazing?
Yep, they didn't recognize them at all!

...or did they not know what the object was at all?
Yeah, they technically didn't realize what the object really was! You're getting into some tricksy territory, though!

    6) Would the majority of the population see the object as amazing?
That depends on who would even understand what it is! You should probably rephrase the question.

    7) Is the object an "improved" version of a different object?
No, I wouldn't really call it that.

Is amazing used in a negative or positive way?
A negative way! (Also, that was a "cool" question! )

    No, not really.

    3) Is the object meant to cause harm to ponies?
No, not specifically, but it's almost guaranteed to do so eventually, in a way!

    4) Is the object tied with any professions?
Not exactly! Well, not any normal sort of profession!

    5) Would anyone be happy that the object exists?
The first two ponies certainly were!

    No to all these!
