    Town random never gives same role twice

    Never seen this suggested before but basically we've all seen situations with saves that are 9-3-3, have 5 town randoms, and 4 of the towns end up being citizens. This is obviously not intentional and kinda dumb.

    What I want is an option for any random, town random and mafia random in the setup to never give the same role twice. I've seen this problem many times but I was reminded yesterday when a triple town random was all citizens and a double mafia random were both mafiosos.

    And remember, if you're insane and like the idea of your any randoms giving 3 survivors and 2 serial killers then you can leave the box unticked.

    Also, consider having it auto-on? And why stop at these 3 randoms? Why not all randoms? (but for the other randoms it's auto-off because it's nowhere near as bad as it is for other randoms)

    As an alternative, I recommend excluding cits from town random, then including a single town core that includes cits in your save. That way a cit is still possible and shows up in the role cards but is much less likely.

    I am extremely averse to the idea of more than 4 town randoms in a save. It would greatly hurt invests who are trying to narrow down possible town roles but have no idea whose role is impossible because there are so many town randoms.

    But randoms are still more likely to spit out the same role twice. It may not be 4 citizens, it may be 3 sheriffs, 4 doctors, 2 bodyguards, exc.

    And also you reminded me of the other reason I thought this was a good idea. It allows for a little more elimination from the perspective of investigatives and especially the investigator

    Why even doing Randoms in the first place? No one forces you to. Who is interested in playing a save where there might be no investigative roles anyway?
    Just don't overuse Randoms when doing a save.

    I think the idea is very bad, because as of now noobs tend to think common roles are unique ("sheriff already dead", a noob jailor will execute everyone who claims jailor and other nonsense bullshit) - this would only make it worse.

    Had 3 town random as BG game earlier, I was town so it was hard to complain. :P

    At first I misliked this idea, but mayhaps removing stringy randoms mightn't not indeed make random a bit more random.

    I still fear people may use this to make more all town random games.

    1) "yeah, if I don't like town randoms, I shouldn't use them. If I don't like mafia, I shouldn't play it. If there is one thing wrong with my computer, I shouldn't use it. In fact, I may as well stop living. Because you know, noone forces me to." - If something is crap you don't just give up on it, you try to fix it first and if it continues to suck THEN you give up.

    2) I have seen people say "sheriff already dead" but if you simply explain to them there can be multiple sheriffs, everything is ok... You can make this argument for all complexities in mafia and say: "well the investigation message charismatic can make people think someone's godfather when they're actually confirmed town". - You just explain to them how it is.

    3) I don't personally use more than 1 or 2 town randoms because of the reason specified above, but I love the idea of using 5 or 6 town randoms in a save freely where there are fewer evils. (because obviously more town randoms makes things harder for town to work out, as specified above). Many people already use 5 or 6 town randoms and it doesn't seem that (I don't know much about programming, honestly) this would be a hard thing to implement. Just a little tick box for town random, mafia random and any random to stop doubles. What's cool about 5 or 6 town randoms is the weird things that could come out of it to make it a slightly more fresh experience. Or what should be cool about it, because, of course, with 5 or 6 town randoms you often end up with 4 doctos and 2 escorts >.>
